I'm amazed at the number of perfumes some people have! I generally have one for everyday and one for going out. Plus a few tiny travel size for holidays.

Banking Bullies! Feeling ignored, and most un'appy
Do you have one? If so, what is it that you like about it?
I have a sample box of perfume from Saltworks. It's clever marketing, but the idea is that you buy sample boxes at varying prices. Each box comes with little vials of scent - ten per box, plus a voucher with a value that depends on how much you paid for the samples - the more you pay, the higher the discount. You try them out and decide which you prefer, and then trade in your voucher for ether a full bottle of your favourite, or a few travel sizes. They make good gifts if you don't know what the recipient would like, and there is a booklet with notes about each of the scents - a bit like wine tasting cards
.
I'm working through the scents now to see which one to order, and it's got me thinking of favourites over the years. I loved Chanel 19 for a long time, and Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir, but tried a few different ones that I got as presents or in duty free shops.
I liked the freshness of the 19 when I was younger, and the deeper, woodier notes of the PN later on. I've always liked patchouli/musky/vanilla scents, and am veering towards those with those notes in my sample box.
What about you? Do you stick to a particular scent, or chop and change as you find new ones?

I think that I get carried away with nice pongs .
I used to stick to just one .
Then gifts came.... Helveti was a gift
I was given some Jean Paul Gautier and it's fantastic .
I can't resist a bargain :
I also like two from Avon -
Little Black Dress
And Far Away .
I just counted and I'm rotating a dozen
If I could afford it my signature perfume would be Mitsouko, mentioned by others but it has to be the expensive perfume not the cologne or toilette.
My H bought me some called Quelque Fleurs , can’t remember who produced it.it was quite nice but not a favourite.
Now it is a variety but none last on me now.
I remember Quelque Fleurs fro way back in the late 70s it was from Houbigant. A gentle old fashioned type of scent.
There was a lovely one called L'Ecusson years ago.
I have worn diorissimo for about 50 years ( on special occasions on account of the price). I have recently gone onto Jo Malone mimosa and cardamom, possibly because it reminds me of my mum, who always bought mimosa for both of us when she saw it on the rare occasions it appeared in the flower shops. It also reminds me of a fantastic walk through a mimosa forest in Madeira, many years ago. I love floral scents, but for everyday I use a fake copy of J' adore, which is very pleasant, and quite cheap!
How nice another Diorissimo lover. yes, the price has rocketted recently. DH used to bring it back for me, duty free when he travelled, recently I have been buying 'preloved' bottles on ebay to keep the cost down.
I fell in love with it when a friend borrowed it from her mother to use at our first Sixth Form Dance. For me it was love at first breath, and it is more than 60 years since I was 16.
Clearing out a cupboard I found an original bottle of Michael Kor's Island .
My daughter and I were addicted to it .
I could sell it on ebay .
The cost now is breathtaking .

Yes! I remember that, too.
This thread is bringing back memories

Does anyone remember Cosmetics To Go? It was a mail order company that was a bit like a (slightly) more upmarket version of Lush. They had newspaper-style catalogues of natural/organic products. They did a scent called Ginger, which I loved. I suspect the company was killed off by the Internet, but I would love to smell Ginger again to see whether I still like it.
I’ve been wearing Amarige by Givenchy for 40 years now. Still love it.

B9 Wasn’t it in a little pot?
Yes, it was, and it was a cream. I worked with a lady who used to rub it liberally along her arms. She must have used a pot every two or three days! I remember getting a pot of Avon Here’s My Heart when I was about 13 from a lady my mother used to babysit for. I was thrilled, and felt so grown up!
Madeleine when I was singing in a large chorus, a deputation went to our chorusmaster because one lady wore an overpowering amount of a perfume called LouLou. I called smell it even from the other side of the chorus! She left soon after that.
Every day I wear Agent Provocateur, and sometimes go back to First by Van Cleef and Arpels or Oscar de la Renta. 24 Faubourg was another favourite long ago, as was Kenzo Flower.

That has reminded me of a dear friend, now deceased, who always called it her ‘Gavinsky’ perfume!
I use Jo Malone - Honeysuckle & Davana
Over the years I’ve worn many different perfumes, presently my favourite is Noa by Cacharel.
Years ago as a young teacher I wore Organza by Givenchy ( husband worked abroad alot so the duty free came in useful to keep stocked up 😉).
Whilst teaching in the early 1990’s in a reception class, I shared an entrance corridor with another reception class teacher. She had a blind child in her class, who could always tell if I’d gone past their room because she could ‘smell’ me- I always smelt ‘beautiful’ apparently.
One day she asked me what my perfume was called and I told her, explaining also how distinctive the bottle was and when I’d finished a bottle I took the empty one in for her to feel it. I often wonder if she thought I looked like the very lovely female form of the bottle- dear reader, I didn’t 🤣 attached photo is said bottle!
Well I used to smell of dogs & horses but now I just smell of old dog & the hint of distain that eminates from my sometimes 'tosser' husband! 🤔

Right now, I'd say it's wet Labrador...
I relate to this a lot. Our preferences naturally evolve as our palate matures, and sampling is honestly the best way to discover what truly resonates over time. Fresh, green scents often appeal earlier on, while deeper musky, woody, and vanilla notes tend to feel more comforting and expressive later.
At Eylon Dubai, we see this shift clearly across our collection. Aria leans refined and airy, Infinity explores depth and warmth, and Himeros embraces sensual musks and smooth woods. Rather than sticking to just one signature, I think rotating scents based on mood, season, and stage of life keeps fragrance personal and meaningful.
Just had a whole lot of M&S Grapefruit given to me for my birthday. Love it…very uplifting
Very few scents work on me and even some of the expensive ones end up smelling like Fabreze. One of the few that does not change is Je Reviens by Worth. It must be very old as I can remember my mother wearing when she was pregnant with my little sister. I don't wear it often but I still love the smell.
Treeselets (Christmas tree shaped cheeselets) ha ha. I haven't worn perfume for years and am actually quite sensitive to a lot of perfumes so use unperfumed washing powder as well. It's mainly the synthetic perfumes in cleaning products that affect me - light scents are ok - but not strong ones. I've been snacking a lot on cheeselets the last few days so probably smell of them ha ha.
No. 5 or no. 9
I have Anais Anais and then I use Eau Jeune for every day.
I used to like Tweed. Unfortunately I am allergic to Chanel 5 although I do like it.
White Musk by Body Shop is still wonderful. I recently had it on and someone at work recognised it and said, "That's a blast from the past." Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely is truly lovely.
