Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers, northwest coast.
Cancelled plans for a lunch and exhibition today. I have some sort of virus, no coughing, but headache and aching. Hardly slept, just tossing and turning.
So just a quiet day, coddling myself.
Thoughts to all🌺

Hope you feel better soon 🌸

A late good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s quite bright bu of course, very cold. The pavements are frozen and ice covered so I’ve made the decision to watch mass online. I feel a bit strange (guilty?) about it but I know it would be stupid to risk a fall. So 11 o’clock at Maryhill it is, I do enjoy mass there.

I got quite a lot of badly needed housework done yesterday as well as a couple of enjoyable phone calls so a little more of the same today plus my book club book which I’m really enjoying.

Your time with your grandson sounds delightful Grandmabatty, I love when I have a sleepover too. The problem when they get a bit older is all the activities they are involved in. I suppose really they are very fortunate to have all those opportunities.

Wishing a good day to everyone, we are lucky to be able to keep comfortably warm aren’t we?

A late good morning from a grey and overcast Northampton; slept till almost 9am! Nothing to get up early for anyway.

Had a lovely day yesterday, first to see the Bob Dylan film, which I enjoyed very much; the music was amazing.
Then joined my family for an early dinner at an Italian restaurant to celebrate DD's and DS-in-law's birthdays, which are a week apart.

Was home by 8pm and had a relaxing evening watching tv - loving the series North Shore, set in Sydney.

No plans for today, just catching up with the papers and continuing with my Richard Coles book.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we’ve not long been awake. Such a good deep sleep has been had.

Alexa says it’s 3°C dry at present and will be 7°C with showers.
The Boy Wonder has ⚽️ this morning so Teacher mum will drop L’il Miss here for a couple of hours (we don’t like to be chilly and don’t enjoy watching). I put new stuff in her wicker toy box last weekend and she’ll be delighted when she sees what’s in there.

Later this afternoon we are off with my stepfather to eat at his favourite pub over in Glazebrook - so a half hour drive for Himself who is our chauffeur.

Gingster Sun 26-Jan-25 09:09:01

Good morning all and it’s quite calm here at the moment.

Yesterday’s cinema trip was lovely. Easy bus rides there and back, no parking problems or tricky driving for me.
The Bob Dylan film was brilliant bringing back memories of my youth. Fabulous songs and great actors.

Today we’re going for coffee to my db’ and sil. It will be nice to see them .

I’ve put a gammon joint in the slow cooker and we’ll have that this evening.

Safe journey to see your sister Liberty. - I hope you find her a little better 🙏.

GrannyGravy I hope your migraine doesn’t materialise and passes without too much discomfort. 🙏.

Take care all 💨

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and dry. My windows are in such a mess with the detritus from Friday's storm! Annypop your poor granddaughter. Brook enjoy your time in the sun.
Yesterday I had the best time with dgs2. He made me laugh so much. He decided to be mum and I was sweetheart. I was to lie down on the couch (no hardship there) and he would tidy up the living room. First he needed boobs apparently so a pair of sunglasses were put on his chest. Clearly he's never actually seen boobs. 😊 We had a lovely time until he happily went off to bed at seven.
This morning we are putting his toys to bed on the footstool and planning to go out for breakfast at ten. He's been an utter delight. I'm not sure when he's going home but later I'll visit mum. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a frosty and sunny Suffolk after a glorious day yesterday. DS and family are coming for lunch.DGD3,age 14, went shopping yesterday with a friend and they did a trawl of the charity shops. She bought 3 bags of goodies which she wants to show us so we may have an impromptu fashion show.

I’m going north tomorrow for a few days to visit my sister who is unwell so I’ll be absent for a few days. I hope that life is kind to all.

GrannySomerset Sun 26-Jan-25 08:34:11

Yesterday’s theatre trip to see A Man for All Seasons was worthwhile and much enjoyed - my Christmas present from the friend who came with me. Today is an empty unless I organise myself to go to our smallest church at 11.00 am; it depends on whether the promised heavy rain starts soon, which from the look of the sky it will. Not keen on risking flood water which is all too possible. When did I become so timid?

monk08 Sun 26-Jan-25 08:32:16

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 1°C, with snow predicted.

Kalu, 💐 I love not one, but two chopped eggs in a cup, with a slice of Mother's Pride, plain loaf. I like to spoil myself!

GM, I hope your eye is healing well.

Have I missed something? Why are you sleeping in a chair, Mick?

DD and SIL came down yesterday, to see if DH needed helped with the storm damage, for I am no use to anyone. DS2 also offered to come and help. 💕
Not long after, DD left, she sent a photo of her garden, covered in snow! 😔

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Annypop Sun 26-Jan-25 08:16:38

Good morning from County Durham.

It's gloomy and cold outside plus the drive looks quite icy.

I have one huge charity bag ready to go and possibly another if I can force myself to be ruthless regarding summer clothing. Do I really need that many clothes? I've asked DH to check through his wardrobe too but as expected that's fallen on deaf ears.

DGD1 had it confirmed yesterday that her foot is broken. She landed badly executing a Gymnastics tumble in the air, one foot half on and half off the safety mat. It's her first major injury, but hopefully they'll be no complications and she'll heal quickly. Injury is always a risk with any sport.

Wishing all a peaceful day.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast heavy rain with wind gusting to 60mph. Dry at the moment and jolly cold.

In spite of wonderful sunshine I’d lost my enthusiasm for being outdoors yesterday but went along with Mr C’s suggestion we go to a local beach, away from the main, bound to be busy, beach. He was right, it cheered me immensely. Spent ages just watching a dog full of the joy of being off a lead for the first time while commiserating with his anxious owners. Came home feeling much better if more than cold. It was freezing.

Back to the photos for me today. I’m about half way and pleased with progress although I anticipate a challenge as it seems some weren’t copied from an old hard drive to the new computer and there are no less than 18 months to find and then order prints. Wish me luck. Mr C will provide hot drinks and hide in the conservatory as the temperature in here picks up. You never know, it may save on heating!

Hope your Apple account is easily sorted redcar and you can stop worrying.

Stay safe everyone. Have the best day you can.

Good morning everyone from Spain, it’s a bit cloudy today but the sea looks calm
Well done with your walking Greyduster, 5 miles is a good walk
We’re off to the Sunday market at the port area this morning and then a walk a bit further along the coast. We might need to pop back to the apartment first though depending on the shopping! DH has just gone out for fresh croissants so we’ll be enjoying those first before we go out
Kalu 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Sun 26-Jan-25 08:09:34

Good morning from W Kent. Looking forward to seeing DS and family today for lunch and a catch up. If we travel by the country lane route it is a lovely drive. I guess by the time we return we shall just relax
Best wishes to all

EkwaNimitee Sun 26-Jan-25 08:06:58

Good morning Mick and everyone from calm, dry Carlisle where we had a bit of rain overnight.
I was a nervous wreck on Friday with the 80mph gusts coming down our wind tunnel at the back and hitting the fence. No damage anywhere around in the end. Carlisle figured on the evening TV news, our leisure centre had to be evacuated as the temporary roof was threatening to come off. The early morning swimmers had to get out pdq!
Yesterday was such a contrast, calm and sunny. I had an early trip to Sainsbury's for some fresh veggies plus the usual unplanned purchases, then home for coffee and a long phone chat with my sister.
After lunch, with all that lovely sunshine, I had to get outside in the garden. I spent well over an hour lopping and pruning, mostly the roses and buddleias in the back garden. This is a job I used to do in March but they are already breaking out new leaves. All my spring bulbs are rocketing up too. There was a real feel of spring in the air which really lifted me after the stress of Friday.
Today, unless it starts raining shortly, I shall get out for an early walk then it will be back to read the papers and the new book I started yesterday, a brand new half price one I found in an interesting second hand bookshop in Bristol at Christmas.

Wishing you all an enjoyable day.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 26-Jan-25 08:06:05

Morning all, from a bright chilly corner of S E Essex.

I have woken with the beginnings of a migraine, taken appropriate medication, now waiting for DH to bring up my cup of tea.

Nothing planned, other than dinner this evening (rack of lamb) a lazy day, with the sofa and my kindle when my head is pain free.

Enjoy your day, however you are spending it 🙋‍♀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 26-Jan-25 08:04:19

Morning all from a dark and chilly West Oxfordshire.

I will spend time this morning sorting out insurance for my new car…

Then, OH and I are going out for lunch to a new venue but the owners were previously at a favourite Sunday lunch venue. This is our first opportunity to try it out since they moved before Christmas:

I won’t need to cook this evening but will look forward to the Pottery Off.

Have a good day.
