Another one here thinking of Blossoming ❤️
Can we get rid of the nasty adverts?
Good Morning Tuesday 19th May 2026
Question About a 1948 Sunbeam Mixmaster Lemon Pie Recipe
As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.
Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.
A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.
Another one here thinking of Blossoming ❤️
Well done GG13 a year on I still pay far more attention to the ground and where my feet are going 🌹
Hi all, we had proper sunshine here! Until about 2, then the cloud rolled it, but I got two thick jumpers dry, the keen wind helped.
FGT I rang my Uncle today, he’s 91, bright as a button, still very mobile, similar to your stepfather, they’re in Hertfordshire, he always thanks me for staying in touch.
After washing and walking I wiped down the kitchen units including the kick boards, my new glasses are scarily good at seeing grubbiness!
I hope llfl is winging her way across the world with no delays, I’ve only done the trip once, business class, never wanted to turn right on a plane again.
Sending a hug to the quiet corner, thinking of those absent, particularly blossoming ❤️
Jacjacky if it was just one leg injured it would have been so much easier.
I ventured out on my own today to take the 10yr old and The Imp to Nerf Wars at their school ( half term activity) fortunately it’s next door but one to our house. I must admit to my GN pals that I felt rather vulnerable, which isn’t my modus operandi!
Aww grandmabatty I hope your DGS1 is feeling much better soon, hope you have a restful evening
Good evening Kitcheners. Brook The weather here has been light snow this morning then dry this afternoon but very cold. The plans for soft play didn't happen because dgs1 wasn't well. He had been very sick through the night and was a peely wally wee boy today. He didn't really want to do anything. Dgs2 and I played at houses, then he made me go to bed and take off my glasses. I could very easily have gone to sleep 😂. However it didn't last too long, sadly. We blew bubbles in the garden and he played in the sandpit and with a tractor before agreeing it was too cold. Tonight I have to tidy up the mayhem and think of something for dinner. Probably macaroni cheese. I'm a bit tired. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s been wet all day here in Inverness - started off with light snow but gradually changed to rain as the day progressed. No signs of a warm up yet
I had a quick trip to DD2s to say hello and then I’ve been sorting through clothes for the charity shop or to try to sell on eBay. Mostly DHs things this afternoon but I have to do it when he’s not watching …
I hope your day has been ok GG13 I bet you’re completely fed up with not being able to do much, sending 💐
Hope Mr&Mrs Soop are doing ok
Love to all in the quiet corner x
Two DGC and one DGGS today. When it’s the two big ones we can divide and rule to prevent squabbling but throw a toddler into the mix and it’s not so easy!
After they left, my new gardener came and I taught her how to prune the climbing rose on an arch. She went up the steps, while I just held them.
TOYA, NNGB
You may recall the torn ligament in my knee a year ago GG13 I can understand your trepidation, it does pass, slowly be assured x
Hopefully half term may help to occupy you FGT it’ll be a tough week x
Busy day on the voluntary phone, then a rush eating and picking up my daughter and Imogen (who waits tables for drinks) eating and getting to quiz. We were one point from being in the money 🙄
Your grandson sounds like me in the morning brook I prefer a gentle, quiet start to the day!
Hope the next week isn’t too long and that the outcome is all you hope for. Such a worrying time, hope you have lots of support.
‘Evening All’.
We got back home at 7pm. from the scan, at 7pm. Honestly Himself is so brave mentally and physically. There was apparently great difficulty getting a needle into a vein for the cannula. Heat pads tried for flat veins etc but no dice. In the end a more experienced phlebotomist had to come to do it. Himself suggested she try for a vein in the wrist. She demurred at first - “we don’t like to, it’s very painful there”. “Ach, It’s only pain. I’ve had it done that way before. Needs must sometimes,.”
He’s had a nice warm Badedas bath, clean pjs. We are eating in 20 minutes. He’s got a bruise blooming nicely now on his left wrist.
Going to the Christie always makes me feel emotional. So many memories. So many poorly people. Result next Monday. I shall feel apprehensive all week. Need to keep busy.
Oh I can’t add Dixon! No facility to do it no idea why?
llfl safe journey, I am rather envious. I should be flying to Melbourne, unfortunately my flipping accident has put paid to that 🤬
This stupid accident has caused me to loose a lot of my confidence along with my mojo 🤷♀️
All GC are now safe at home with their families.
I expect you’re on your way now llfl, have a good journey and enjoy your holiday with your DB.
A lovely sunny day here today, but so cold! A very cold wind too. I pruned two buddleja bushes today, and felt very pleased with myself. I’m aching a bit now, but not too much. A friend came for coffee this afternoon, we had a good natter.
Looking forward to some less cold weather later this week, I wonder if some of my aches will ease if it’s milder? I can but hope!
I hope you’ll soon feel better utbb, there are some nasty bugs around out there!
Have a peaceful evening everyone, stay warm!
Hi kitchen pals, apologies I’m a bit behind with all the news as it’s been a busy couple of days. All good though and we’ve been spending time with DGS so that’s been lovely. It’s a mini half term here, there’s no school this week until Thursday so he slept in a bit this morning. He’s definitely not a morning person, last night he was really good company and quite chatty but this morning he was like a bear with a sore head and monosyllabic again He bucked up a bit and we dropped him home about lunchtime and I went to the Zumba class at the gym to recover!
Hope you’re feeling much better soon utbb take care and look after yourself. Congratulations to your DGS and partner too
Safe journey LLFL and have a lovely time with your brother in Australia
Enjoy your holiday grandmadinosaur 😎
DD1 ( the gadabout) is in Tromso in Norway, she sent a gorgeous picture of the Aurora yesterday - lucky thing!
Safe journey Llfl.
Utbb Please take care keep warm and plenty of honey and lemon.🌻
We have a very soon to be famous cat in our town. She visits the local pub and is always at the station, even taking the train to Waterloo!!Our local taxi driver often takes her home.🤣🤣Look out for Tilly the adventurous cat on BBC news tonight at 6pm and 10pm.
Hope all went well today FGT.
Bon voyage LLFL.. Enjoy your time with your brother and the birthday celebrations whatever form they take... Looking forward to hearing all about it. I'm very jealous of you flying into sunshine too!!!!!
UTBB..... Not a nice bug by the sounds of it. I hope very much you feel better soon. I had my 2 middle daughters in 17 months ( and a 4 year old). I think it was the most organised I'd ever been...and they were ( and I hope ) were inseparable as they grew up.
It's a busy week ahead...Solihull tomorrow...Oxford on Wednesday...Surrey on Thursday and Friday and finally Hampshire on Saturday. I will be reading all posts though.
FGT2 thinking of you and your DH today, hope all goes well. xx
LLFL, I hope you have a good journey and are reassured when you see your brother.
It must have been a worry with him so far away.
Australia and Greece were on my bucket list to visit.
I didn’t get to either.
My H was not one for travelling and by the time he died I was nearly 82 and too old and tired for gadding about.
Make the most of all the opportunities you have, all of you, before it is too late.
Sorry you have felt so unwell UTBB.There are some nasty viruses doing the rounds.DD and I thought we were getting colds a few weeks ago but it seemed more than a cold.H has succumbed to a sickness bug today.
Congratulations on another great grandchild.Your grandson and partner are going to have their hands full.
Safe travels LLFL.
We are in charge of DD2’s little dog and two cats while they are away for half term.Dog and one cat are behaving. The other cat was attacked last week so is grounded. He is not happy. The cat that attacked him left one of his teeth embedded in DD’s cats leg.He is healing nicely but needs to stay in.

Just to say to Grannmarie thank you, you are always so inclusive in your posts.
I try to remember what people have posted but my old brain doesn’t function that way and although I have tried scrolling back I get in a pickle and lose my post.
You are very kind [flowers[
Thank you, Hulahoop, Neine and YiaYia. 🥰 Hulahoop, hope you enjoy the film. I watched BJ's Baby last night, don't think I've seen it before.
Hoping and praying that all goes well for the FGTs today.💕🙏🕯 Lovely photo, what a smart gentleman. I remember The Sunday Post, it had comic strips of The Broons and Oor Wullie every week. Legends! I still buy the annuals every Christmas.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, Utbb, glad you can keep cosy and comfortable. Great to hear your GS is so handy with your electrical jobs. Congratulations to him and his partner, they'll have their hands full.
Enjoy your family break, Grandmadinosaur.
Safe journey and have a wonderful reunion with your DB, Ladyleftfieldlover, it will do your heart good to see him.
Another cold day here, it was snowing when I drove up to Mass this morning but its all gone now. My sisters and I enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with our wheelchair bound friend, yesterday. It was chatty and leisurely.
Washing and some housework today, needs must!
Wishing everyone a manageable week ahead. Thinking of the Soops and all in the quiet corner.
