As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.

Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.

A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.

In case it’s difficult to enlarge clearly, it says:

‘How do I make impatient people angry?’

‘I’ll tell you tomorrow’.

soop you are going through hell each day at present. I am well aware it is in the surgeon's hands at present but if he gives a glimmer of hope, I know what I would go for. Please, please give it another thought.

soop I’m so sorry that you are in such discomfort and that you may have a difficult decision to make. Thinking of you. It’s quiet in the kitchen this afternoon. I’ve just spent an hour on the phone to my friend in Kent, our weekly catchup call.
DD1 and family came in for a snack lunch in between their daughters’ various activities. DGD1 is going to an ice skating party in a few weeks time and has never been before, so they’re having a practice this afternoon!
While they were here DSiL bled my bedroom radiator for me and strimmed the edges of the lawn too. It looks much tidier now.
Have a peaceful evening everyone. Thinking of those in the quiet corner.

I’m so sorry, Soop. Such trying times for you. flowers

kittylester Sun 23-Mar-25 18:32:34

I'm sorry, too, soop. Life does get complicated doesn't it. No advice just sending you love and a very gentle hug.

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Mar-25 18:35:06

Soop that sounds like a difficult decision for you to make. I wish you strength whichever you opt for.
The boys were mostly well behaved with a couple of spats between them. Dgs2 twice blocked my toilet with an entire toilet roll! It's his latest obsession. Dd didn't warn me about that! They were picked up at lunchtime and I promptly fell asleep on the couch. I've had a lazy afternoon and slowly cleared up. I have the dishwasher to empty and load tonight and then an early night for me. Up at the back of five for childcare day tomorrow then working in the library. I'll visit mum after that. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Oh Soop, I’m so sorry that you’re feeling low. Sending you a gentle hug 🤗

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Mar-25 18:44:27

soop I have no advice other than only you know what you can cope with 🌸

AS and wife are currently mid air on their way to Heathrow, I do not envy their task of claiming on their insurance, their credit cards have taken the strain!

cornergran Sun 23-Mar-25 18:51:42

Not an easy decision soop. When the time is right you’ll come to the decision that’s right for you and mr soop You’ll work out together what can manage together. Sending love.

Jaxjacky Sun 23-Mar-25 19:10:11

Very difficult decision for you both soop let’s see what Friday brings.
A damp cooler day today, planted a large cyclamen, visited the farm shop and went to the pub for meat draw, no prizes.
Beef casserole will be ready soon, hatches battened down.

brook2704 Sun 23-Mar-25 19:15:44

Soop sending the gentlest of hugs, there’s lots to think about, I’d be guided by the surgeons and hoping for the best possible outcome x

Doodle Sun 23-Mar-25 19:28:05

Dear Soop whatever you decide I hope it’s the right decision for you. Lots of love to you and Mr Soop 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 23-Mar-25 19:58:57

Hello kitchen people and especially Soop. I’m sure you’ll make the right decision once you have all the information from the surgeon.

OH and I went to the cinema today and saw Black Bag with Cate Blanchet and Michael Fassbender. Highly recommended.

Have a good evening.

Grannmarie Sun 23-Mar-25 20:06:09

Dear Soop, what a dilemma for you and MrSoop. Hoping and praying that Friday brings good advice to aid your decision making. Wishing you the best possible outcome. This is where the old Convalescent Homes were ideal for a few weeks of post operative care after major surgery. Thinking of you both. 💕🙏🕯💐

Grandmabatty and Kitty, I agree, I know I'm not emotionally robust enough to watch Adolescence, much as I like Stephen Graham. I remember being very disturbed by Sophie's Choice many years ago.

The Wee Boy got his first Primary One report card on Friday. His teacher said some lovely things about his manners, friendly nature and positive attitude to listening and learning. We are all very proud of him as he is one of the youngest in the year group, he turned 5 last month. The wee family had a great day out at the Glasgow Science Centre yesterday to celebrate.

I visited my friend this afternoon, she is beginning her recovery from her recent TIA. She had a visit from the Stroke Nurse on Friday and she has follow up appointments for the hospital and for the Rehab Clinic. So plans are in place to help her. Her DH is looking after her well and she has had many visitors. She is still very weak, fatigued with some memory loss, and suffering headaches but glad to be home.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday evening and a good night's sleep. Kind regards to all in the quiet corner. TOYA.

Dear Soop what a dilemma for you. You have a few days to think things through and I’m sure the surgeon will be able to advise you on the correct decision.

Sending love to you and MrSoop 💐

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Mar-25 20:55:08

Please may I have a boastful moment- I have just answered every question correct up to £125,000 on Who wants to be a millionaire without using any lifelines 😹😹😹

gillgran Sun 23-Mar-25 20:56:11

Thinking of you, soop, sending a gentle hug & love to you & MrSoop.

GrandmaC47 Sun 23-Mar-25 21:15:20

Soop 💐

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Mar-25 21:39:21

Grannmarie that's lovely about your wee grandson. Well done for him! Dgs1's first parents night is this Tuesday. Hopefully it'll be a good one.

Georgesgran Sun 23-Mar-25 21:54:02

Between a rock and a hard place at the moment soop💐. Is it possible to get daily carers in if your op goes ahead?
I hope your family isn’t in a hurry GG13. It took BA nearly 6 months to refund our ($2000+) expenses when they cancelled our return flights!

Jaxjacky Sun 23-Mar-25 21:56:04

Where are we going then GG13 Maldives? 🙂 well done
Grannmarie a warm glow from that report

Grannmarie Sun 23-Mar-25 22:09:07

Thank you, Grandmabatty and Jaxjacky. 🥰

kittylester Mon 24-Mar-25 07:31:01

Super report grannmarie. I'm sure your DGS is proud of himself.

We had Wolfie on Saturday and would have just liked him to stop talking. grin

Nannytopsy Mon 24-Mar-25 08:22:36

🤣Kitty ! We have one like that.
More gentle hugs for soop & Mr soop
The lady gardener arrives at 9 and the cleaner at 2. We both have dental check ups and then it’s choir. In between I have a huge pile of ironing.
Better get moving!

Usedtobeblonde Mon 24-Mar-25 09:04:10

Such a dilemma for you soop it is solved for you if the operation is not possible but please take advice as to how you will be affected if it can go ahead.
See what help will be available through SS .
Six weeks free used to be the norm a few years ago but that may have changed.
Good morning to everyone, the sun is shining here but it is chilly.
I have been up all night with “ an upset stomach” that’s enough information 🥺
I feel like a wet rag but Sainsbury’s is due soon so I must get going.
Have the best day you can everyone.
