As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.

Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.

A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.

Ohgrannygravy that sounds so painful, I do hope the hospital have given you some decent painkillers. Are you able to move at all? I hope that it all heals quickly and that you’re up and about soon.

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Feb-25 17:25:17

Oh grannygravy how horrible for you! I hope you are being looked after.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 05-Feb-25 18:37:30

Ouch grannygravy poor you that sounds very nasty and as soop would say a buggeration indeed. Frustrating as it is time to put your feet up and have others waiting on you now.💐

Nannytopsy Wed 05-Feb-25 18:41:39

Not the way you wanted to spend the day GG13! I hope you are much more comfortable very soon.

cornergran Wed 05-Feb-25 18:44:30

Ouch for Sue Gg13. As my younger very accident prone self heard almost daily - you don’t do things by half. That sort of incident shakes us up, hope you can sleep and heal tonight x

Baggs Wed 05-Feb-25 19:04:35

Oh my! GG13. That's sounds jolly painful and must make getting about extremely awkward! I can recommend a glass of Baileys and a cup of tea as sore, wakeful night medicine. Well, it worked with a broken shoulder.... but then... I could still walk about easily. If virtual hugs were healing, we'd have you right as rain in no time 💐

Yiayia4 Wed 05-Feb-25 19:11:46

That sounds so painful GG. Rest and get well soon.🌹

GrannyGravy13 Wed 05-Feb-25 19:15:15

Thank you for your good wishes 😘

At the moment it’s the broken bone which is giving me the pain.

DH has had to reassure the 9yr old that he can make an egg and bacon sandwich for his breakfast along with his packed lunch.

I am just so cross that a silly trip can cause so much trouble, perhaps I am getting old 😹😹😹

cornergran Wed 05-Feb-25 19:20:36

No, not old gg13, maturing that’s all smile. Us mature folk don’t bounce.

Ali23 Wed 05-Feb-25 19:34:56

Oh my goodness GrannyGravy that sounds horrendous. I hope you have lots of painkillers and are waited on hand and foot!
Sending get well 💐

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 05-Feb-25 19:45:09

‘Evening All’.

Oh no GG13!
I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. Poor you. And to be wearing a leg brace for the foreseeable, plus pain with a broken foot sounds awfully restrictive. It never rains but it pours. You will be shaken up tonight that’s for sure. I too hope you’ve got good pain relief sorted. Healing vibes are winging their way from me to you right now dear pen pal. 🤗

We’ve just eaten. Quiche and a can of baked beans between us. I know. Not much effort but hey ho. “All food is good food “ our lovely family doctor used to say to us years ago “even the humble sardine”. Actually we had those on toast at lunchtime when I think about it! Eat your heart out Delia.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 05-Feb-25 19:49:58

Ach. The bone in your RIGHT foot is broken and it’s your LEFT leg in a brace. Oh heck - that’s a double whammy of immobility. I thought it was all on one side until I re-read more slowly.

NonGrannyMoll Wed 05-Feb-25 19:51:18

Sounds horrendous, grannygravy. Get that husband to wrap you up in cotton wool and become your Nursie Slave (always wanted one of those but, ah, cruel fate hasn't yet provided). All the best and hope you recover soon.

gillgran Wed 05-Feb-25 20:11:59

Sorry to hear you've had such a nasty trip, GrannyGravy, it sounds really painful.
You will still be feeling very shaken.

We are all thinking of you as you start your recovery.
Warm thoughts & wishes to you.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 05-Feb-25 20:25:06

Just to add insult to injury, some scumbag has cloned my nectar card and spent all my points (over £100) this afternoon 🤬🤬🤬

I shall be on a mission with Sainsbury’s HQ tomorrow!

Jaxjacky Wed 05-Feb-25 20:34:52

That is taking the proverbial GG13, life deals out garbage at times.

brook2704 Wed 05-Feb-25 20:35:15

Oh my goodness GG13 you poor thing, how awful - I hope its not too painful and you recover soon
As for the Nectar points - I hope you get them back pdq

kittylester Wed 05-Feb-25 20:54:05

It will stop you being bored GG

hulahoop Wed 05-Feb-25 22:17:40

You couldn't make it up Gg you poor thing ,there's nothing left to say so sending ((hugs))) and hope you can sleep and are not in too much pain .

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 05-Feb-25 22:48:46

Thinking of you GrannyGravy. 🌹

gillgran Thu 06-Feb-25 10:01:01

That certainly is adding insult to injury, GG13, I hope you manage to get your Nectar card/points sorted today.

Safe journey home brook, you'll need your winter woollies.
It's frosty in Cambs., so I'm sure it will be in your northerly area.

Jaxjacky Thu 06-Feb-25 12:34:26

I’m not really a morning person but today I was out scraping my car at 7:45 before giving a friend a lift to the train station, a quick pit stop then stretch class. All a shock t my system, how I used to get u for work is a mystery!
It’s a glorious day, but cool, easily fooling whilst indoors, but a trip to the bin asks as a reminder.
Safe and painless journey back brook
I hope you’re not too uncomfortable GG13 maybe a doze to catch up on your sleep.

soop Thu 06-Feb-25 15:05:58

GG I am so sorry to hear of your very nasty and painful fall. Do rest. You will need nurturing. Us lot would be there in a trice if only it were possible.

brook2704 Thu 06-Feb-25 17:00:37

Hi kitchen pals, thank you for all your kind wishes we’re back in Scotland now and heading up to Inverness on the FlixBus - it’s free for us oldies
The flight was on time with no delays, I don’t like airports much at all these days but it was ok today. Ever since DH had his knee replacement he always sets off the alarm at security and has to be thoroughly checked over - he thinks he’s a VIP now
DD2 has already sent a list of things she’d like us to do - now we’re home
Will pop back later
Hoping everyone in the quiet corner is doing ok, sending hugs 🤗

Grandmabatty Thu 06-Feb-25 17:52:56

Glad you're back in God's own country Brook. Safe bus journey home and no chores til tomorrow at the earliest!
I did another hour and a half in the school library and can see the difference already. I might do an hour tomorrow afternoon before I pick up the boys. Dd is having a cosmetic thing done. Homemade macaroni cheese for dinner later. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
