Is Spring springing?

No, not here in the south of Denmark, nor do we expect any signs of spring until the end of February-beginning of March.

You must be very far south in England to see signs of spring already.

In my Scottish childhood January and February were definitely winter, too. I expect they still are.

I noticed yesterday that the sun is now advancing in the garden, and the shade is beginning to retreat.

The light is different.

The winter aconites in my garden were out the first week in January and we have had daffs in flower in the village for almost two weeks .

I saw snowdrops in bristol last week but nothing up here in the north!

Waaay too early, and it's freezing cold still!

My pelargoniums are amazing! I decide not to make cuttings last autumn and thought that they would all die off; but no, they are still the same as in September last. I live on the top 5th/6th floors (it's a duplex) of a block of apartments and although the frost has been thick on the ground, it hasn't touched the plants on my balcony, which I am very happy about.

Sure hope so but wouldn't have thought so from the zero situation in my area.

Daffs in the public gardens in Buxton on Monday. Think the temperature was about two degrees!

We have fields of daffodils here in South Lincolnshire. Local farmer sells them in our village. Never know what type I am buying till they open. Beautiful surprise every time.

Last weekend we went to Kew, where there were masses of snowdrops.
I shall go again soon to see the crocus carpet. 🙂
