Talking of smells………

They say our sense of smell can evoke many memories, and White Musk can always remind me of my mother, and 4711 was my granny’s smell, as she always used one of those wee solid sticks you rubbed over your forehead!
Before I had baby number one, nearly 50 years ago, a friend gave me sachets of Savlon antiseptic to put in my bath after baby was born to help the stitches. If I smell it nowadays I am instantly transported to hospital, and, in fact, can almost feel the pain of the stitches!

Avon’s honeysuckle cream perfume used by nasty grandmother in the 60’s or early 70’s. It was in a little round glass pot with a golden yellow plastic lid moulded with a honeysuckle sprig. I wish they still made it.
