Good morning from Shropshire.A sunny day forecast.

I got everything on my to do list cleared yesterday which was a relief.

Today DD1 and I are off to Manchester to watch DGD singing with her school choir at the Young Voices concert at the Co op arena.Very exciting.

Good news from the opticians Mick and Redcar🥳always a relief.

GG so sorry to hear about your accident.Wishing you less pain and a speedy recovery💐

Bellasnanna if the medication makes you feel better don’t worry about taking it.Anxiety is a health condition like any other that requires medication💐

Good morning from a very cold and icy Black Country.

Pleasant hour with DS yesterday in his lunch break. He had already eaten from a buffet at his meeting, so I had a Fish Finger Bap, whilst he had coffee.

Had a video call with Mum yesterday early evening, She had her coat on, as she had got it in her head DD was going over to take her food shopping! No idea where she go that from.

Walking group walk this morning, then onto Mums to take her out to lunch and a food shop. Car will need defrosting today.

Gosh Marydoll you certainly have an interesting if chaotic life! Hope you have a calmer one today.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° with a blue sky. It looks damp outside though and, once again, my windows are steamed up. I have poor double glazing. Marydoll goodness, such a lot of expense. Take in washing! Ginny lovely photos and pantglas you make Morocco come alive with your description. Brook safe journey home to Inverness.
Yesterday I went to the school library and wasn't happy at the mess. Someone has used it as a dumping ground and there were yoga mats, assorted boxes of stuff and a child's jacket strewn on the floor. I left it to let the Depute see as she planned to come in. Then the principal schools librarian appeared. I know her well from previous years. She, and a colleague, brought me stickers etc already printed so I can label away to my heart's content. It was nice to see her too and we had a chat. I felt a bit under the weather when I got home and realised I have a large red patch on my arm where I had the shingles jag. I expect I've overdone things slightly.
I had a poor night's sleep last night, awake every couple of hours again. The redness doesn't appear to be spreading so I think it's a reaction rather than an infection. I'll keep an eye on it. This afternoon I'm going back to the school library for an hour or so to continue labelling and re-shelving. Then home to make macaroni cheese for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. Looks like a nice day ahead although cold and frosty.

Il do some crafting and then probably the weekly shop and put some fuel in the car.

Off to make my second cuppa and read your morning news.

Have a good day all 🌸

Good morning from a misty Suffolk where we are promised sun soon.

I have my stretch class soon and then I’m meeting 3 friends for lunch. We’ll have a table in a local hotel overlooking the sea in Lowestoft and will have lots to catch up with as we haven’t met up together since just before Christmas.

We are off on a cruise next week to Casablanca and the Canary Islands so I have to start thinking of what washing and ironing needs doing before then…..can’t wait for 2+ weeks of warm sun, delicious food and interesting places to visit.

Sorry to hear of the difficulties experienced by some people and hope that today is a better day for those and a good one for everyone else.

Taichinan Thu 06-Feb-25 08:27:54

Good morning all. It's a glorious winter morning, all blue sky and wall-to-wall sunshine, on the Angus coast today. I'm off to tai chi soon and hope the sun will have worked its wonders on the car windscreen by then.
Nothing to report from here, and no plans for the day beyond tai chi class and some shopping - and that's plenty for me as far as my energies go!
Have a good day everyone, and if you have weather like we have, enjoy it 🌞

Sar53 Thu 06-Feb-25 08:38:02

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast but it's cold with a heavy frost outside.
Food shopping this morning then a lazy afternoon.
DH meets up with a group of friends on Thursday afternoons so I have an empty.
I've started cross stitching again and I'm knitting a beanie hat for DGD4, she loves hats.
I hope you have a comfortable day GG13, thinking of you.
Best wishes to everyone xx

EkwaNimitee Thu 06-Feb-25 08:48:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very frosty but sunny Carlisle. The workers have been busy de-icing their windscreens, I'm glad I'm not going anywhere.
Yesterday was a quiet day of pottering about at little jobs, this morning it will be the ironing, quite a lot of it so I hope Melvyn Bragg and Co have interesting things to say as I listen along as I work.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery GG13, how painfully frustrating!
And have the best possible day everyone.

harrigran Thu 06-Feb-25 08:50:45

Good morning from a bright and frosty NE.
Yesterday was another wasted day on the computer trying to sort out my mobile.
Sister and BIL visited, he watched while I typed information in and pointed out to me I kept making a mistake that wouldn't let me proceed. Such a relief to have another pair of eyes.
Today will be a quiet day, maybe tidy the bedrooms.
Sorry to hear of your accident GrannyGravy, hope the pain relief is effective.
Take care all.

Good morning, it’s bright and sunny here in South Lanarkshire.

GG the same thing happened to my Nectar points, I’ve no idea how. I did get it resolved and got a replacement card with my points restored but it took a couple of weeks.

Kalu, I’m pleased to hear your appointment had the outcome you had hoped for. It was lovely to see you looking so well yesterday.

Today I’m going to have fun in Hobbycraft replenishing DD’s youngest child’s art supplies for his birthday as that’s what he has asked for.

Later I’ll make a vat of chilli to take to DS tomorrow as they’ve decided they quite like ‘Chilli Fridays’.

Wishing everyone a good day today particularly those who’ve had difficulties to contend with.

Stilllearning Thu 06-Feb-25 09:04:52

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, I’m posting before reading this morning because once again I need to go out and after enjoying a nice read about everyone’s doings I don’t have time to write anything myself. Note to self, get up and don’t read the news on on your phone. Perhaps a separate alarm is the answer.

Doctor’s appointment this morning and then attend a SSVP church meeting. There doesn’t seem to be quite the demand here for the traditional help given by the society and we’re struggling a bit to see our way forward. Some young blood is needed I think.

Looking forward to catching up later, I hope everyone has a good day.

hollysteers Thu 06-Feb-25 09:37:49

Good morning Mick and all from a misty 0° northwest coast.
Hairdresser cancelled as she has a leak in the salon, so I will carry on with my brown spray for the roots until Monday.
Not much to report, another quiet day at home, but always things to get on with.

I hope your recliner arrives Mick and you find it comfortable and thoughts to GrannyGray and all🌺

Whiff Thu 06-Feb-25 09:44:39

Said it was going to be misty today no mention of the heavy frost we have got in the north west. No need to go out day.
Mike hope your chair arrives safely and you enjoy playing with the controls and probably have a snooze .

Ginny beautiful pics.

Hope everyone keeps well and be careful if you go out in the frost no broken limbs .

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 06-Feb-25 09:45:38

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Mr &Mrs RIP van Winkle have only just woken. Bed at 11pm and sleeping till 9am what’s going on with us? It’s not as though I’m energetic and I didn’t drink wine last night! Oh well, we must need it.

The sun is streaming into the main room so it was toasty in there (no heating on) when we made our TIB. Which we are currently enjoying but I’ve just noticed (don’t look Ethel!) that there’s a fur coat on the wooden blinds in here at the bedroom window. So that’s my job for today.

Thursday = date night so that’s nice to look forward to.

Right, time to read all the posts above mine!

monk08 Thu 06-Feb-25 10:00:49

Good morning all from a frosty but sunny day in the Black country.
Late this morning so haven't read through yet, but did notice photos from ginny and yes I could spot the giraffes once I knew to look for them.
Very busy at playgroup yesterday.
Shopping today and if the sun continues shining may take a walk around the arboretum.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, will make a drink and read everyone's happenings all 36 posts ☀️

GrannySomerset Thu 06-Feb-25 10:04:18

Awoke to find a large machine (some sort of ladder) and three men surveying the telephone pole the other side of my back fence. Progress over the last hour has been minimal but I can’t say I blame them because we have had a heavy frost and although sunny global warming is not currently in evidence in the Chew Valley. An added interest to my quiet rural life, anyway. Domestic duties await as I have no other plans and the sun is showing up the disgraceful state of the windows.

BlueSapphire Thu 06-Feb-25 10:18:14

A later good morning from a sunny and very frosty Northampton. Slept in till 9am this morning, so thought I'd better shower and dress straight away as I am expecting a Sainsbury's delivery shortly.
Now sitting with a mug of tea and a buttered hot cross bun, and have just put the towels in the washing machine.
Some salmon in a chilli ginger and orange marinade to prepare for dinner tonight.
Off to the cinema after lunch, not quite sure what the film's about but it's called 'Here'.
Have a pleasant day everyone.

JudyBloom Thu 06-Feb-25 10:31:49

Good Morning, a nice sunny day. Love Victoria Falls ginny, your photo took me right back there!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 06-Feb-25 10:36:44

I rang the Nectar helpline, and I am happy to report that the young lady was extremely helpful and has cancelled my card, issued a new digital one complete with my points balance before they were purloined.

Physical card should be here within 14 days.

Onwards and upwards 👍

Rainbow1235 Thu 06-Feb-25 10:52:18

Jaxjacky Thu 06-Feb-25 11:02:47

Well done GG13 your day is on the up

Grammaretto Thu 06-Feb-25 12:11:54

Good afternoon from the Scottish Borders. A beautiful day here.

I'm sitting outside listening to the tits and robin, drinking coffee and eating a cheese scone.
I've been showing a valuer all over my house with a view to selling some furniture.
He was so charming and kind about my mostly very unfashionable antiques but left with a promise that some things I thought worthless are actually much in demand!
Any money made may pay for the tree surgeon.

Great photos of your trip of a lifetime ginny

I hope everyone finds some joy today.
