Good morning Mick and all from dark but dry north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where I’m mulling over ‘galanthophile’ - seems a galumping big word for such a delicate little flower!

Enjoy your holiday BonnyBonko and anyone else still away - a friend is on a Caribbean cruise and sending lots of pics for me to drool over!🤨. Never mind, I’m off again soon…

Today’s delight is a brunch outing to James Pringle in Llanfair PG (I do know how to spell the whole word but the Yorkshire Gold ☕️ has brewed…) with another friend and no doubt we shall sneak into TKMaxx on the way home!

💐 for those in pain, may you be on the mend ❤️‍🩹 soonest x

Good morning from Bristol; rain has probably settled in for the day.
Nothing much to report. Church yesterday with a request during the sermon by the preacher to huddle into pairs and talk about your own gifts. I loathe that sort of thing as I don’t think I have a gift for anything, but do try to be as kind, compassionate and helpful as I can.
I had a quiet afternoon, not doing much. It was cold and dreary.
Today, Tesco in the morning. It’s an “outing” when my neighbour’s friend comes; she insists on coffee, etc. it takes the whole morning, which I find tiresome, but am glad for the lift to the shop.
In the afternoon, I have an (expensive) appointment with the hygienist.
May your week bring contentment. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and dry, I think. Yesterday was a good day. Fun with dgs1 then a visit to mum who was fairly alert. She's still not eating but did drink some juice.
Today is early childcare day then volunteering in the school library for a couple of hours. I'm very tired today as I didn't sleep well, so I might have a nap before I pick up the boys. Have a good day all

Good morning from Durham. It’s dark, with some rain forecast and still feeling sub-zero.
Coffee with a friend this morning, then I’ll get a few more things from the attic to use, recycle, donate or take to the tip. Little and often suits me.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from s somerset, cold rain is battering against the window and it will be dull windy and cold all day

It is even colder than yesterday so I am staying in, I will prep the stove for lighting later and will take today as it comes I can see me spinning, pottering, watching a film, reading. Even my kefir has stopped in its tracks, the new fermentation is always sensitive to weather

I am so glad I went to the plot yesterday, as usual I was first in and last out. It was perishing at 9 and my fingers were dropping off but by 10 I needed to remove my coat and hat. I did catch all the sun and did complete my tasks.

I had a very short chat with a young man at the tip, he is one of the most positive people I have ever met. Cheery and very helpful to all. He has a kind aura

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where we expect a sunny day with a high of 15°C and a chance of showers.

Today is a Public Holiday, the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck which commemorates the day in 60AD when St Paul was washed up on the shores and brought Christianity to the islands.

As I have a day off from childcare I shall get some jobs done around the house. I need to start sorting out drawers and cupboards.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning all. 2deg. cloudy and a chilly wind today in Glasgow.

Far too cold to do anything outdoors but I must make myself get out today to shake off the rather flat feeling I had yesterday due to something weighing heavily on my mind.
No idea yet what I will do but I will think of something. Some admin to do first.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for all with worries and struggles.

baubles Mon 10-Feb-25 06:41:55

Good morning all. It’s 2* and cloudy here in South Lanarkshire.

Just me and the daft dug this morning as DH has a hospital appointment. I may make a start on making up some photo albums although I’m behind in my crochet this week so will probably procrastinate and get nothing done.

Hope you find a way through your worry Kalu.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Jaxjacky Mon 10-Feb-25 06:57:15

Morning from a chilly S Hants, rain due later.
Usual Monday, voluntary phone, quiz later, must take my library books back.
Yesterday was more rugby, meat draw - nil points - roast chicken.
May you reach a conclusion Kalu
Hope you’re enjoying your new chair Mick

Good morning from a dark and wet NE.
It was a miserable day yesterday, so dingy that I had to have the lights on all day.
Nothing planned for today except the window cleaner says he will be coming so I need to go and unlock the gates.
Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and all early bird GN's From a very dark, cold morning here in North Yorks Cant even see the outline of the tree yet. Hope you are all doing well.

Today is going to be like a row of dominos for me. If all goes well should get some things done but if one falls it can set all the others off! I am going out very shortly just to Tesco for one or two bits that are needed, but must be back before 8am as the yellow peril has a puncture, just when I need it, and the man is going to come and collect it, get the puncture mended and organise a spare key while he is doing it. So fingers crossed that is all that is wrong with it and he gets it back to me pdq. I have an appointment with the physio at 1pm and need the buggy to get to the doctors. I already had to swap the appointment once and so hope the buggy is done in plenty of time for me to drive to the dr's. I am really hoping that the physio might have some good ideas or new things have come out to help with the pain. It is getting worse and longer each day and now , it seems to be more bad days than good ones. I really notice now when I have a good day with less pain, because I get so much more done and can think logically. So fingers crossed that he has some good ideas to help at least.

Then I have to go to the bank and sort out the new bank card again. I attempted to pay for a coffee in Cafe Nero and it drove the machine and itself mad!! I have the app on to both get points and pay for my coffee there, but of course have just changed my phone, so the wretched thing was accepting my using the card but trying to put it to the old bank account!! The queue was growing by the minute and so I paid cash and must sort it out today. As I have usually paid cash and only recently changed over as they offered more vouchers with this scheme it reminds me why I still prefer cash!!

Then I need to scout round and see if I can find a new cover for the yellow peril, that isnt going to cost me a fortune. We have a shop that sells all sorts of wheelchairs and useful things for disabled people, but it charges an arm and a leg and it is much cheaper if you can get it at another shop, but if push comes to shove I could go there. So once I get back have no excuse to put off the wavering mountain of ironing that needs doing. But at least as you slowly go through it all you have a pleasing amount of choice now of what shirt and trousers to wear. So it is once more unto the breach , dear friends! Hope you all have a successful day whatever you plan for it.

So, fingers crossed that it doesnt rain while I am out and I can succeed and return triumphant with cover et al!! I am still making some progrss with the shambles but it is still slow work. I now have a list of people that need to know my new phone number - at least the bank card hassle reminded me of that and things like the doctor and family and friends need to know the number. I have a small compartment that zips shut where I have the back of a business card that has my phone numbers land and mobile, my NHS number and my NI number all on that small card. Find it much easier to get that out for any of those things needed and going to the hospital etc there are times you get asked in rather a resigned voice if you know your NI number and they look surprised when I can tell them quite easily!

Good morning everyone from a still dark, dry Northampton, but a rainy day is forecast. Did not venture out at all yesterday, and was glad of a day in.
Yoga first thing this morning followed by coffee and chat in the little cafe round the corner.
Some washing to do when I get home and then a bit of pottering and reading.
Hope all have a pleasant day.

Ashcombe Mon 10-Feb-25 07:14:04

Good morning from a cold, damp, windy Torbay.

I will have to curtail my time at the Move It Or Lose It Class as I have a hospital appointment for a physiotherapy assessment at the Fracture Clinic regarding my arthritic knee. I hope that means I get on the waiting list for surgery which is about two years long, I believe!

I would say you are very gifted, grandMattie, with your baking and sewing skills amongst others.

Enjoy whatever your week brings. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

GrannyGravy13 Mon 10-Feb-25 07:15:13

Morning everyone, I slept a little better last night.

DH is taking my car for its MOT today, so I am home alone.
Resting legs on the sofa, I think I was over ambient yesterday, my broken foot rather aches this morning.

Be good 🙋‍♀️

Grammaretto Mon 10-Feb-25 07:15:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dark and chilly.

I had a slight accident yesterday when I lost one of my new walking
poles in the duck pond. I could see it
sinking so set about saving it. A
passing runner didn't hear my call
for help he had headphones so I got down on my front and managed to fish it out. At that moment a nice young couple, assuming I had fallen, rushed across and helped me up. 😄
It was a test for my new hip which it passed!

Today I have to give a short talk at U3A history group. Luckily I am one of many so it will be very short.

Lovely to hear of all your plans and holidays. Not so much the hardships and pain. I feel for you Kalu. Maybe a holiday in the sun would be a therapy for chronic pain?

NannyJan53 Mon 10-Feb-25 07:17:51

Good morning from a dark and dank Black Country. Will we ever see blue skies again!

Chicken and veg soup simmering, whilst I drink my coffee

Walking group walk this morning, then Line Dancing this afternoon. Then probably a nap when I arrive home at 3.30!

Wishing you all the best day possible. With special thoughts to those with worries or struggling.

Redcar Mon 10-Feb-25 07:26:48

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s cold, cloudy and damp out. Yesterday I did go out, as I had to deliver a card to a friend. I thought it was time I abandoned the crutches and used the walking sticks instead. They were hard work and my back protested for the rest of the day! Both DDs called in during the afternoon, apparently all the granddaughters were tired as they’d had sleepovers with friends and very little sleep!
Not sure what to do today, plenty of housework to be done, but need to prioritise it as my back can’t cope with too much. I may try to see my friend with dementia today, because I can’t see her tomorrow.
kalu I hope you can resolve your problem soon.
Have the best day possible everyone.

RosesandLilac Mon 10-Feb-25 07:30:42

Good morning everyone, it is very wet, cold and dreary here in south Glos, a soggy start to the week.
Yesterday I was back and forth to the hospital taking and fetching DH for his investigations, I’d done 62 miles before 10am! Apparently nothing untoward found.
I walked the dog between journeys, a lovely foggy atmospheric walk, somewhat cold but I enjoyed it.
I did absolutely nothing after cooking dinner, sat and embroidered in front of the wood burner.
Today is housework, change the bed etc, a quiet day.
Wishing you all a trouble free day 🌹

kittylester Mon 10-Feb-25 07:37:07

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

I need to nip to Waitrose this morning for refreshment for our final Carer Learning session which we try to make all about the Carers looking after themselves.

I usually bake but we had sad news yesterday and I didn't quite get round to it.

A friend of DD2 & 3 died yesterday. He was diagnosed with MND 5 years ago at the age of 37. He founded a Charity for MND Research and raised over £300,000. And he was a lovely chap.

A very sad time.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 10-Feb-25 07:37:13

Good morning from another wet day in Oxfordshire.

The Electrician is due any minute to finish off some bits and pieces that he didn’t have time for a couple of weeks ago, we have so many more electrical items to plug in than we did 26 years ago when we moved in even though we added so many then, I will say goodbye to trailing extension leads! All of our new sockets have USB ports! 21st century we have arrived at last!
Apart from moving furniture an easy day today, some ironing when he has gone, I did a load of baking on Friday, some of its in the freezer so it will rise us over for a week or so.
GM you have many gifts!
Madeleine I hope you day falls into place and all goes as planned.
Kalu💐

Have a dry day everyone, hugs for those who are stressed, sad or unwell.

Good morning all from a very chilly day here on the east coast of Fife. Todays the day I’m going to be packing my case for my holiday on Friday, then I’ll be up up up and away to the lovely warm sunshine I’ll be staying in Los Christianos at the
MarYsol hotel built especially for those with disabilities especially mobility issues the staff are so helpful there, the pool is very warm, the food is delicious - I just can’t wait.

Take care my friends , sorry I’ll not be thinking about you 🤣🤣🤣 just keep smiling

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 10-Feb-25 07:37:45

Tide us over……..

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 10-Feb-25 07:39:20

Morning all from a grey and rainy West Oxfordshire.

Our cleaner will be here this morning. I will do a Waitrose shop. After lunch I will pop over the road to the Craft Group which my friend hosts once a month.

Have a good day.

Bonnybanko Mon 10-Feb-25 07:42:19

Thank you Pantglass2 I’ll definitely enjoy the warmer weather hoping all at home are kept safe.
