Morning Mick, morning All from a cold, windy and damp corner of Somerset.

Coffee with friends this morning, no idea about this afternoon. Looks like a staying indoors sort of day, I could do a heap of filing, suspect I won’t and it will be on with the photo albums. I’m up to 2014, not bad as I began in the early 1970’s.

Oh heck grammaretto, no harm done but perhaps not to be recommended smile.

Have the best day you can everyone.

cornergran Mon 10-Feb-25 07:47:31

So sorry kitty. Love to you all.

GrannyIvy Mon 10-Feb-25 07:50:12

Good morning from Cambridgeshire, looks to be a cold wet day here.
I am trying to remain calm as it is my filling at the dentist this morning. (I really struggle with dental stuff, such a coward).
Will just take the day as it comes nothing else planned until school pick up at 3 and then the usual Monday mayhem with one at gym and one at dancing. I think it’s my turn for gym today as DD2 and I alternate each week. Both children really want Mummy with them as they have become very clingy of late.

Have a good day everyone a new week begins.

Good morning and yes it’s damp, dark and dreary here in Essex, too.

Yesterday was mixed with dh choking on his dinner, and DGD having a ‘quiet tantrum’ while we were playing a board game. Very unusual for her as she’s normally a very self contained child, who just gets on with life. She took herself off and did some drawing in another room, and learnt her spellings for school. 😂. No screaming or shouting, just making a point 😂

Today I have Chimes group which is always very enjoyable. We’ll be missing one member as she’s in Gran Canaria for a month 😬. I’m so happy for her 😒. 🤣.

Take care all and keep warm and dry 🌱

Good morning all from gloomy Wiltshire.

On Saturday we went to Roves Farm with DD2 and her family. It was absolutely perishing but the children wanted the opportunity to hold a lamb and baby goat before they get turned out into a field. The lambs which born in March are from a much shyer breed and are nervous around people. They had turns with the goats and then later on the lambs. DGS2 at 3 is not much shorter than his sister who at 6, is 2 years 8 months older. They are so different.

DS sent me videos of both DGS1 and DGD2 swimming at county championships at Aylesbury which I’ve yet to view. They each won some heats. It took place over 2 days and involved 6am starts. Their commitment is total.

School pickup today. DGD3 has macaroni cheese every other week and M&S mini pizza alternate weeks. That’s all she’s eaten for the past 2 or 3 years here. Her diet is very limited indeed.

Have a good Monday everyone. Hope anyone with worries and injuries recovers asap.

Good morning. Relaxing today after early morning safaris and travelling. We are now cruising along to Durban, our first port of call.
Wishing all a good day especially those who are poorly or troubled.

Good morning all, its 2°C here in Glasgow.

Kalu, I hoping you find resolution and GG, hoping your discomfort is lessening.

Best wishes to all.

Good morning from a dull damp Suffolk. Hope these snowdrops give a hint of Spring soon to be sprung.

Meeting a dear friend this morning for a catch up before our holiday. That will be a couple or more of hours of laughter and interesting conversation.

Hope there are such moments of pleasure for others today,

Gingster Mon 10-Feb-25 08:23:38

Lovely snowdrops Liberty - so many. I’m glad they are ‘out’ and you can enjoy them before you go off on your hols. Have a great time. ☀️🕶️

A late good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is raining. I spent most of yesterday in the kitchen prepping lunch and a complicated pudding for DD and the menfolk. We had a lovely time and then after they had gone home I fell asleep in my chair for three hours! Of course the rest of the night, sleep wise, was a train wreck. I have ironing to do today, and a trip to local M&S if I can stay awake long enough.
Have the best day you can, folks!

Susan56 Mon 10-Feb-25 08:30:51

Good morning from Shropshire.Feels chilly.

Yesterday’s meeting with my brothers at mum’s house went well apart from when they had a dreadful row over something they both wanted😩thankfully all was resolved.I was so tired when I got home that I went straight to bed and to slept until I was woken by one of mum’s friends phoning for a chat!

The podiatrist is coming this morning then I will hopefully get all our household jobs and admin completed this morning so DH and I can sort mum’s admin this afternoon.

I am already exhausted and think I may have to cancel visiting mum on Wednesday if I don’t feel any better. It is 100 mile round trip and our visits aren’t great for her. After her initial joy at seeing us she gets very sad.Apparently she is fine when we aren’t there.

Hoping all in pain get some relief.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

brook2704 Mon 10-Feb-25 08:47:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still very cold at -1° and forecast to stay cold all day
Sorry to hear such sad news kitty
We’ve only just woken up so a later start for us today. I think we’ll go out for a walk somewhere later and then a trip to Tesco is needed
Beautiful snowdrops Liberty thanks for the picture
Susan56 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Mon 10-Feb-25 08:53:11

Good morning all from a wet and windy Black country.
Housework and reading todays agenda unless something more interesting comes along.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Taichinan Mon 10-Feb-25 08:56:47

Good morning everybody. It's a grey one on the Angus coast and the wind coming out of the east isn't making it warm!
I had a lovely brunch with the family yesterday in Perth and enjoyed the drive there and back - more so because there are so few lorries on a Sunday!
Today I'm back down to Dundee for a hearing aid check up, but that seems to be the end of all the appointments in my diary for a while - famine or feast it seems to be with me.
So sorry to hear about your DDs' friend Kitty - so very sad 🌹
Have a good day everyone, and enjoy this snowdrop time of year - lovely photo Liberty.

Jaxjacky Mon 10-Feb-25 08:58:47

Thank you Liberty so pretty.
Pleased it went reasonably well Susan

Beechnut Mon 10-Feb-25 09:01:34

Good morning everyone. I hope we do eventually see blue skies NannyJan as it’s ‘orrible ‘ere.

Yesterday I got my laptop out for an airing. I couldn’t do what I wanted so I have to look and see if I have some leads. I then did some card making.

Today will be a pottering and tidying up day. I’ve got to bring in a storage container from the garage so I can begin to gather up some things to get rid of.

Have a good day all 🌷

GrannySomerset Mon 10-Feb-25 09:08:33

Grey and cold so an indoor day is called for. Must summon up the energy to make a couple of difficult phone calls and then I can have a reading day. Spring still feels a long way off.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 10-Feb-25 09:12:58

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and looks chilly out. We’ve not long been awake! Snug as bugs (again).

I have two things to do today. Take my stepfather to a hospital appointment (skin lesion) and then once home, ring John Lewis to arrange a delivery date for our new tweed sofa.

luluaugust Mon 10-Feb-25 09:19:53

Good morning from W Kent. Unfortunately I have woken up with a blood shot eye it is in the cataract eye I have recently had done. Apparently it is very common but not sure why after 10 days. Cleaner coming soon and then later we have a funeral to go to, somebody DH worked with for many years. I shall be glad to get today done.
Best wishes to all

Stilllearning Mon 10-Feb-25 09:43:41

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where I’m home after a weekend by the sea. I enjoyed looking at it but I found it too cold to walk much. We did go to see ‘A Complete Unknown’ and I thoroughly enjoyed it although struggled to hear all the spoken parts clearly.

Yoga and lunch with my neighbour today and quite bit of essential admin later.

I was sad to read about your DDs’ friend Kittylester, what a cruel disease it is, condolences to them.

That was a nasty moment for you and your DH Gingster, it happened to me and I still feel chilled about what would have happened if I had been eating on my own, as of course I often am.

Hope today is better Kalu.

Lovely pictures Liberty!

Wishing everyone the best of days.

hollysteers Mon 10-Feb-25 09:59:45

Good morning Mick and all from 3°C northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday at one of my favourite galleries 30 miles away. I went by train with one change to meet old pianist arty friend.
The day was dogged by my inability to warm up which is really afflicting me these days, despite big coat, padded jacket underneath, hat, gloves and boots. I looked in astonishment at people on the train in purely a sweater and jeans.
It even affects my concentration. I wasn’t as interested in the paintings as I usually am.

When the gallery closed, we had a drink in a nearby rather rough pub, hard to speak with football on. We always have an off the cuff quiz, just dreaming up questions. It’s sometimes hard to think of any question. Crazy really when our brains are now holding so much after all this time. My friend is a real brain box, but even he struggles to think of a question at times.
A game I play with my GD too and she would get quite bossy about it when she was little 😁

A house day today and a practice of my songs for the music club tomorrow. I need to use a gift voucher for a symphony concert as it runs out next month. Their online booking is tricky.
Thoughts to Kalu and all 🌺

hollysteers Mon 10-Feb-25 10:01:26

So sorry kitty, very sad news.

aggie Mon 10-Feb-25 10:17:44

Good morning from a nice bright Co Armagh
I’ve to try and zip my bag later , hand luggage for flight to Edinburgh tomorrow
My Daughter has my overdeveloped sense of frugality and books hand luggage on our infrequent flights
As I have to take my rollator and wait for assistance, it doesn’t mean we can stroll off the tarmac to the bus
Hoping for a better day for those in the sick bay 💐

Rainbow1235 Mon 10-Feb-25 11:17:27

TheWeirdoAgain59 Mon 10-Feb-25 11:57:42

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

You know when you have those days where nothing goes right for you? At work, I'd plonked down on a break after a particularly hard day with a couple of my lovely residents, I was exhausted so made myself a cuppa, just as I sat down I dropped the mug and hot tea went all over my legs/trousers! Straight to the bathroom to get the trousers off quick and soak my legs with a cold flannel, medics had to be called by our rules and laws of the business but thankfully no permanent damage was done! I was given some cream to rub on and bandages etc.

I was sent home as a Health and Safety thing.

I was walking to my car, this was about 1:30am and tripped over the pavement, where I bashed both my knees as I landed! Again, no permanent damage so I got in the car and drove home.

The next night about 2am I was in my kitchen after getting up desperate for a drink. I grabbed the tub of Nestle Nesquik, the lid came flying off and landed on the floor with the tub and about 3/4 of a tub of powder all over the floor, me, my t-shirt and shorts, in my hair, all over me, in my ears eyes nose and throat!

There's so way I was getting the noisy vacuum out at that time in the morning so I just used the dustpan/brush to sweep the powder up for the time being! Eventually I managed to have a lovely mug of Strawberry after killing myself laughing!

It was a really dark street with no lights on so I used the little torch I carry in my handbag so at least I had a bit of light but still the pavement leapt out at me ...! HA!
