I love the Gingsters (pasties)ad and also I think the Specsavers ads are really clever
The one that really gets to me is Andrex it’s just so weird
I’m not sure if we see the same adverts in all parts of the country 🤷‍♀️

Least favourite are those endless charity ads on daytime tv and the Sunlife one with the woman who says she's just been to a funeral and the man says Oh Dear in a right cheesy voice.
My favourite one was the Kevin the Carrot Christmas one where they were taking off the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Will Conker. A plum flew through the air and Kevin said Ooh I can see his plum crack. It had me in stitches. The latest one was also brill but it was only shown a couple of times. I think it was based on the Mission Impossible film.

Eloethan that crypto currency one which makes us laugh used to be a bit longer...the customer said "what, for potatoes?" and he would reply, " and onions" ...that was the bit that cracked me (and my family) up. Unfortunately they've cut that bit out. And the one with silly paint names triggered us to think of a whole new list of silly paint names.

Disgusting Kleenex with the little girl wiping her nose

I also hate the let it all go ad. I like the one with the old guy at the piano being joined by young woman (his daughter?) and they play together. I think it is for Kipling cakes.

Haven't seen it lately but the little girl who is blind finding her way round school before she starts. Always brings a tear to my eye as she laughs.

I agree Marg75. That travel ad makes me think the boy is really uncomfortable and trying to get away from the older man with his arm around his shoulder. I have to put my fingers in my ears when that woman starts to screech about perfume! There used to be a lovely one on GB News channel where a tall gangly fellow got on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend at the top of a hill. They were just ordinary looking people but it was so believable. Not on now but please bring it back- advertising jewellery.

I tend to record everything so I can skip all the ads. However, if I do see any I particularly hate anything to do with pads, periods, wee, bowels, toilet paper and smug boomers on cruises!

I like both those ads, the one about crypto currency was longer, you’re right, and funnier before they cropped it.
And the paint names is an hilarious ad, we also think up silly names, like ‘baby poo yellow’ or ‘grumpy old git grey.
🤣

This advert has returned recently, unfortunately.

The ghastly one with the man picking up snacks from a bowl behind him while listening intently to somebody. What he can't see is that a little girl is putting the snacks in her mouth and then returning them to the bowl. UGH!!!

Mostly adverts really irritate me. Great when you record something and can fast forward through them. Hate that the sound goes up when they come on. However I do smile at the Haribo advert, where they dub the voices of two police officers with children's voices!

That Haribo advert is the one I hate most! It is so totally stupid and pathetic. Sorry Diplomat - but it’s a good job we are all so different!

I absolutely hate the Haribo one and the voices really get on my nerves. I often wonder where the people who make up these adverts are trained. Or perhaps they’re not, which would account for the fact they are boring, pointless, intrusive and often depressing.

I hate all adverts so I keep my reading glasses beside me. When ads come on I read Gransnet.

HATE
the Boots one - Man gets a cold from eating peanuts girl has licked chocolate off - makes me feel ill
Tena - bulky pee pants ad especially when shes on someones shoulders
Sanitary product ads are now far too explicit
LOVE
Haribo Ads
Miss Dior - What would you do for love

Oh yes that Boots one is revolting.

Can't stand the ones of fit people being heaved up and down in motorised (daren't say electric) chairs and stepping out of baths with doors in the side. And don't get me on Sun Life!

The latest Andrex one is bizarre, to put it mildly, but their ads. always remind me of my honeymoon back in 1973. With others, DW and I were taken to the Moulin Rouge, where the compère, in blazer and straw boater, was clearly based on Maurice Chevalier. His name, to the delight of the Brits. present, was Andrex.

Yes, I do realise that there are younger people who may need aids in the house but these actors all look very young and sprightly.

As for Barry?, his neighbour and the funeral plans, don't get me started!!

LadyGaGa Sun 23-Feb-25 21:56:57

The Trivago advert - two men pay different amounts for their room. One of them has teeth that would light up Blackpool! And the All Clear insurance. The acting makes my toes curl ….

Calendargirl Mon 24-Feb-25 07:13:06

A newish one that I find irritating is Ben Fogle advertising some tracker device for his dog.

Considering he is an established tv presenter, his delivery is very wooden, just seems to be reading it off his autocue.

The device will ‘alert him to any potential issues, so that he can discuss them with his vet’.

More ÂŁÂŁÂŁ for both Ben and the vet.

The latest one shows ladies wearing pads with seethru pants, and a lady putting one in her pants. Great, because we've no idea how to use them. Definitely a step too far!

theworriedwell Thu 14-Aug-25 18:08:27

I hate the one with the collie knocking someone off a balcony. No idea what it is advertising.

I love the AA one with people shocked by the silhouette of the lighthouse keeper and a length of rope. I realise it means I have a very unsophisticated sense of humour.

Skydancer Thu 14-Aug-25 20:09:41

I love the one for Specsavers where the delivery driver struggles to carry the huge box to the top floor flat only to be told he’s in the wrong block of flats. It’s very clever. Most adverts, however, are stupid or disgusting.

Oh yes, that man’s teeth! 😱

suep1953 Fri 15-Aug-25 08:50:31

I hate the Pepto-Bismal where they are singing about diarrhoea and other stomach ailments. Ugh!!

The man with the teeth is Jurgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager

Christian1x Fri 15-Aug-25 14:25:59

I’m with you on the Specsavers ads — they’re always so clever and funny without feeling forced. I quite like the Compare the Meerkat ones too, though I know they divide opinion. Agree on Andrex, it’s just a bit odd these days and doesn’t really make me want to buy toilet roll!

Labradora Fri 15-Aug-25 14:38:11

I love the new Kellogs ad with the giant rooster.
Hated the Daisy perfume ad.
May turn into a serial killer if someone doesn't stop or change the Domino's pizza ad.
Can't stand any of the new frankly vulgar ads featuring deodorant being sprayed into unmentionable areas and the andrex "don't hold your poo " effort.
Stick with the Puppy, Andrex.
It'll be interesting to see whether the new variety of " shove it in your face" ads increase sales ??

Cumbrianmale56 Sun 17-Aug-25 12:03:45

It's embarrassing in mixed company when adverts for tampons come on the television. Although these have been around since the eighties, they've become more graphic and unpleasant to watch.
