Good morning from Malta where a cloudy, rainy day is forecast with a high of 14°C.

I am up early as the plumber is coming to fix the flushing in my en suite which has been on the blink for a while.

Had a lovely day with the boys yesterday, they are a joy.

Had my hair done in the afternoon and feel much better for it. I know there are people who look absolutely lovely with white or grey hair but I’m not one of them as I feel I’d look even more washed out than I do already. Each to their own.

I need to go to the bank today so hope the plumber finishes in time for me to get there before it closes at 12.30.

I then need to empty the sideboard and clear the decks as I’m having a new air conditioning unit fitted on Monday and it will be a messy job. The old one broke two years ago and I’ve decided I can’t bear another hot summer without it but it’s going to hurt my bank account!😫

Wishing a good day to all ☀️

Good morning from a pleasantly/warm part of Tenerife. It’s still fairly dark but then my blackout curtains don’t reveal too much I think I’ll probably drop off again until 8.30 when my lovely carer will come along and I’ll have a shower before I venture into the dining room.

Enjoy the day my friends as best you can don’t be afraid to live 💐💐

Good Morning Mick and all GN's on another very dark and still morning here in North Yorkshire. Still too dark to even see an outline of the tree but no sound of wind or rain so thats something.

Yesterday there was an open day at the local campus and a new area they have opened for adult learning. So I went to have a look round and see what there was to see. Well done them, they had actually really thought about access for people with all sorts of disabilities as the adult learning was on the second floor. So was able to test them out, and yes I was able to park the yellow peril ok and go up in the lift. decent toilet facilities, chairs that were comfortable to sit in , tick tick tick!! So a lot of options available, with courses on line and in person etc. They had some demonstrations of various different things and made the most of the valentines day theme, including a lecturer who brought in ready made biscuits and then she had all sorts of icing stuff, fondant and various different coloured royal icing etc, and it was quite fun to have a go on the biscuits and of course she was explaining about more fancy stuff.

So I am hoping to go to one of the digital classes. I have been in communications for years but you feel that you are not up to date with stuff and the safety angle etc and avoiding scams So that was very positive and I shall be spreading the word to friends about it.

Today it is going to be , out early to the market, may go mad and have a coffee out, but nothing else special. Then back to put stuff away and then I have another big box of paperwork that I want to go through whilst I have the energy. The weather is cold and they say we may have even some snow later, so then plan to just get on with some ironing , a warm job for a cold day, and listen to radio 3 and practice some songs.

Just started singing with a guitarist, and I usually sing with a pianist, it is quite different, so I want to get more into this, and am also doing some different, more jazz songs and some classics. So the two things go together for me. I shall be able to be ironing whilst singing The Lady is a Tramp, or Fever or Autumn Leaves.

Hope you all have a good day today, and manage to do something you have been trying to get sorted for ages.. Have a little treat for yourselves, you deserve it!!

Good morning from Durham. Still dark, cold but not wet.
It was so cold yesterday, I went to bed at midnight, but far too early for me and I’ve been awake for a couple of hours. However, I’ve TIB and the tv on in the background.
Taking DGS2 to a museum today, while his Daddy watches his beloved Toon Army. I hope we can get the disabled parking there, as there’s not much other parking nearby - not easy with a wheelchair and a 3 year old.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, it’s a wet Saturday morning here, chilly too.
Dog walk first thing then a quiet day, so I can start an online drawing course I’ve signed up to.
My Tassimo coffee machine has died so no coffee for me unless I go downstairs but that’ll disturb the dog who will want to come back upstairs on the bed (I really don’t approve of that although I do occasionally allow her to).
Yesterday I had a filling at my lovely dentist’s, they really are so kind and friendly. It was bitterly cold walking from the car, there was a smattering of pellet-like snow 🥶, thankfully nothing more.
I made a bag of dog treats when I got home so she’s happy.
I hope your weekend goes well 🌹

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It is marginally less chilly and definitely wetter. I hope the cold east wind has died down a bit.

I was so lethargic and tired yesterday that I took a “sleeping pill” (half an antihistamine) and had a good night.💤

My Spanish lesson went well although one of the new students that I try to avoid, always sits next to me and we are always paired. There is nothing wrong with her, but it’s nice not to always have the same person…

The afternoon was quiet, I was too tired to do more than read or watch tv. I did make Urms SOAP dish and have enough for another two meals.

Today, apart from coffee and chat, it’s empty. A free concert this evening for the local hospice in church which I might go to if I’m not too tired. The programme is ok, not my favourites but nothing too modern or challenging.

May your weekend be peaceful and occasionally joyous.

Good morning from s somerset, cold, dull, rainy, not nice today

I was a busy bee yesterday morning, soup making, bread making, big floofy scones. I did little else and was zonked by lunchtime. I know my body, it was just recovering from the physical work of the last few days so did not force it

Today is an indoor day and I will be making gooseberry and blueberry crumbles, I can see space appearing in my freezer, which is the whole idea. I do still need to do the superficial cleaning and will again be finished by lunchtime. I have more sock presents on my needles and books to read on my coffee table. I hope it leads to a full sleep tonight, same as I had last night

Have a good day

Good morning all. 1deg. and rain this morning in Glasgow.

We had a power cut last night around 10.00 pm which only affected half of our road. I continued reading my book by candle light until connection was restored. It was quite cosy.
A trip to the PO to post a little surprise for DD2 in Australia who is feeling down at the moment.

Of course each to their own Bella perhaps it was wrong of me to offer my opinion sharing something I would happily accept, not meant to come across as something I was telling you what to do. Far from it. Pleased to hear you are happy with your colour done. I get it.
Enjoy your holiday in sunnier climes Bonny

Best wishes to all for a good day especially those with worries and struggles whatever they may be, I hope you find some respite today.

kittylester Sat 15-Feb-25 06:58:04

Good morning all from a chilly and damp North Leicestershire - we have had rain but I think it has stopped now.

I need to iron this morning and then we are meeting DSiL2 halfway down the motorway to collect the children.

cornergran Sat 15-Feb-25 07:00:26

Morning Mick, morning All. Cold and wet sums up oir corner of Somerset.

Balloons bought yesterday we headed to a garden centre for seed potatoes and somehow were drawn to the cafe for tea and very good cake. We’re all prepared for the birthday stuff tomorrow, we’ll transport everything to our son’s before our Chinese meal with the family. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.

Quiet one today. Broccoli and blue cheese soup to make for lunch otherwise it’s back to the photos, so many memories surfacing. I’m quietly amazed at how much we packed in.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a damp but slightly less cold Torbay. Roll on Spring!

Kalu: just a thought: have you ever used this website?

au.direct2florist.com/

I find it very useful if I want to send something quickly to my DD1 in Australia. Service is efficient and she is always delighted with the flowers or pot plants.

Last night we enjoyed a visiting performance at our theatre consisting of a talented band of musicians with a singer (Andrew Bourne) who has appeared on Britain's Got Talent, apparently. A full house told us to expect a good night and we weren’t disappointed. Lots of Rat Pack songs were popular with the audience.

Have a great weekend but remember to relax, you busy folk! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Feb-25 07:36:37

Morning everyone, chilly here 3°

Nothing exciting happening, more rest and reading.

Enjoy your days follow 🙋‍♀️

Enjoy your day’s folks not follow 🤬

Good morning from the NE where there is frost on all the parked cars.
Yesterday was grey and damp so I spent time in the kitchen making carrot and sweet potato soup and courgette Provencal.
Haven't heard from DS but assume he will be visiting with GD so that I can stock up with basics.
Enjoy your holiday Bonnybanko, nice to have some sunshine at this time of year.
Have a good weekend everyone.

baubles Sat 15-Feb-25 07:43:02

Good morning from South Lanarkshire.
There was a dusting of snow on the ground when I went to bed last night and it’s still there but thankfully there hasn’t been any more.

Yesterday was bitterly cold in Edinburgh but we still enjoyed an hour running around on the beach with DS, three children and a daft dug, not that DH or I did any running. grin

A quiet day today, I’m sure I’ll pootle around happily although I have no real plans.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Redcar Sat 15-Feb-25 07:45:31

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cold, dry, with light cloud. Frosty early in the night, but the frost has gone now. Rain forecast for us later.
Yesterday started cloudy, but it cleared late in the morning and we had a lovely sunny afternoon. I managed about 10 minutes in the garden, pulling up forget-me-nots which had taken over one of the big pots of daffodils. My garden is full of violets, forget-me-nots and muscari (&weeds) the only place the flowers don’t grow is at the very back of the garden, I’d quite like them to move down there to cover the mud!
Not sure what’s happening today, I’m not expecting my DDs, they’re always busy on Saturdays. May try to do a little gardening if it’s not raining. Plenty of housework to do though so I’ll keep busy.
Have the best day possible, stay warm and dry.

brook2704 Sat 15-Feb-25 07:55:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still very cold at 0° and cloudy.
Enjoy your holiday in the sunshine bonnybanko 😎
As the ground is still mostly frozen here gardening is still on hold for a while, so we’ll find something else to do today. But firstly I’m looking forward to a catch up call from DS in Switzerland, there’s lots of news to catch up on and plans to make for our next meet up in April,
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Sat 15-Feb-25 07:56:16

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and damp. Grey skies again. Yesterday it brightened up for a while and it was nice to see sunshine.
Yesterday breakfast with dd and the boys went ahead. We tried somewhere new and it was very nice. The boys behaved well too. Later I went to the retail park to pick utpart of dgs1's birthday present which I had ordered. I bought some little outfits for a friend's granddaughters. One is a very new baby and the other misses out during covid. I had a phonecall from the hospital to say mum has a chest infection and is on antibiotics. She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, although she's still not eating or drinking much at all.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. They've changed the way you order and she won't like that. Then tonight I'm going to the cinema with other friends. I'm not a fan of the series of films tonight's is part of, but it's nice to be asked and I try to agree to outings. I hope my eyes are ok for driving to town and back. Have a good day all

RosieandherMaw Sat 15-Feb-25 07:59:01

Good morning from N Bucks where we seem to be “paying” for yesterdays Spring sunshine with more rain. Ah well.
I’ve had a troubled night possibly with the Birmingham family’s half term travels on my mind - GS2 was due to leave at 3.45 on his wonderful school trip to Lapland and the Arctic Circle (so guess who was awake “in sympathy”!). Then GS1 was flying at 7.30 to Italy on HIS school ski trip - so I woke up at 5 (just to be on the safe side) . D, SIL and GD were also off taking off at 7.30 - I just hope it has all gone smoothly, it’s the sort of holiday organisation I loathe.
I’m off to London for an overnight babysit for Ds2 and 3 ‘s little boys - together- let nobody say I don’t earn my granny badges!
For all on granny duty this half term I wish you “Bon courage” 👏👏 but also lots of fun.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.

Marydoll Sat 15-Feb-25 08:04:25

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is 1°C.

I plan a quiet day before church tonight. I have coughed half the night, now have a painful throat and streaming nose, as well as the ulcers.
Baubles, I thought I saw flurries of snow, when I was wandering the house in the early hours, I thought I was dreaming! Perhaps not.

Yesterday, to my surprise, I received some lovely gifts and a romantic card from DH. He doesn't usually do romantic. Later on, he suggested that we go out for lunch on Wedsnesday, to celebrate our secret engagement forty nine years ago.
If he starts losing weight and buying a new wardrobe, I shall know he is having an affair! 🤣
I think he is trying to cheer me up, seeing how low and unwell I have been feeling.😍

I will wish you all a pleasant Saturday, enjoy your holiday, Bonny.
GG get well soon.💐

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its dry and Alexa might as well just say “it’s the same again love’ as its 3°C, overcast and 5°C later. L’il Miss is coming over at 9am, here till noon. Himself will be off with the Boy Wonder and his parents to watch the ⚽️ match over in Warrington. L’il Miss and I will go to the library in the square, have a mooch, hot chocolate as we do. It’s half term just started so she’ll be excited!

After that, absolutely No Plans so from noon we will just hunker down, stay warm, read, and Himself will doubtless find some sport on tv to watch! Thinking maybe steak, fried onion and a pouch of peppercorn sauce from the larder for dinner. 😁

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 15-Feb-25 08:09:01

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Our daughter is here and is already having breakfast. She is still jet lagged from her trip to Oman.

We are looking forward to lunch at our favourite restaurant later.

After she has gone back to London this afternoon I must start to think about packing for my Australia trip. It is about 30 degrees so I will be packing mainly summer clothes!

So I had better think about getting up. Have a good day.

Liberty Sat 15-Feb-25 08:12:50

Good morning from a sunny Bay of Biscay with a reasonless calm sea. The WiFi is very patchy at the moment on board and the photo I’ve just taken of the sun rising won’t post but I hope you can feel its warmth from my words.

We enjoyed a delicious meal in the speciality Nepalese restaurant last evening and tonight is a formal one so out with our posh togs.

Interesting lectures yesterday on the ports we visit, first one Cadiz on Monday and an interesting this morning on “ Morocco….the smugglers’gateway to Europe” by a drug smuggler and order crime investigator.

Hope those feeling under the weather feel better soon and all have a good day.Hope to be able to post next week.

Greyduster Sat 15-Feb-25 08:18:49

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp, cold South Yorkshire. I’m late this morning. Slept right through the night without even a bathroom visit. Must have been the small glass of sloe gin I had about nine o’clock! I am having a quiet day today; a little light housework and then knitting and a book. DD and the menfolk are off to Lincoln for another look at the university and asked if I would like to go along and visit the cathedral, but I have declined. It’s not fit weather for me to sightsee while they explore academe, and Lincoln Cathedral is at the top of a very steep hill - I would need crampons and an ice axe today!
Have the best day you can, folks.
