54 Year Old Woman visited by Police

I’m extremely concerned about this. There are real crimes happening and the Manchester Police acknowledged that this was never a crime but they sent a Sargeant and another officer over to intimidate (it was intimidation in my view) this woman. The MP she criticised has been in the press for poor behaviour unbecoming an MP so she was certainly within her rights. This was a blatant waste of Police time and should never have happened - why couldn’t they call if they had to follow it up? This is happening across the country more and more and Labour are now stopping elections in certain areas (although I believe this is now being looked at to see if it’s actually legal). The government can now spy on us via our phones, they want digital ID (Tony Blair never stops talking about it) and digital currency. I wonder sometimes whether we are actually going to get a vote in four years time!

Two granchildren I think the onus is on the OP to provide a link to where the information came from. That then informs my next step. As it is, plenty of people have confirmed what I thought regarding the veracity of the evidence

When there are violent incidents and it is
found that the perp had posted dangerous comments online, police are frequently criticised for not being aware and following it up.

Not sure her age or grandparent status is relevant. If she said something likely to spread misinformation or cause a riot - glad the police got involved. GB news and The Daily Mail should be investigated for spreading misinformation most of the time...............no better than FOX news.

We saw a report about this yesterday morning, including a bit of her ring doorbell footage of the police visiting her home. She was repeatedly told she had not committed a crime but that she needed to be careful about what she said online.

The Lady was complaining online of a local Councillor who was NOT the MP who made those unacceptable remarks, in fact was nor reported as having made any.

We don't yet know what the remarks all were, the DM has reported 4 I think and there may have been many more offensive. Whether it warranted a police visit depends on how offensive they got and whether they were sufficient to constitute harassment.

It's certainly not comparable in any way with the online crimes around the Southport riots, I am thankful appropriate action was taken there.
I have no idea why was meant above by "proved to be the truth"on Southport Onedaysoon? These were death threats/threats of violence/organising violence.

It wasn't an accusation of hate speech, it was harassment. If it had been hate speech then it would have been a crime.

She recorded the police visit, which nobody is saying didn't happen. What is not recorded is what she said to warrant that visit.

The comments about the councillor that we have seen were not remotely criminal, but we don't know what else was said.

This is absolutely disgraceful and a waste of police time but let’s be careful what we put or we will all be arrested!

How do you know their time was wasted when we don't know what (other than the posts the woman has made public) was said?

Exactly, Doodledog, the Express and DM are whipping up indignant remarks but only have actually quoted a tiny number of the ones she did make - ones that suit their agenda.

Useful criticism, preferably with full name , is acceptable but the trend for vituperative words and bad language to be used anonymously these days, with the aid of IT is a regrettable and, sometimes, nasty . We may say that as a society we believe in free speech but covert speech is another thing entirely.

Brilliant.
Now on my third and I wouldn't have any other format (although Miele and Bosch are the same company so probably also excellent). Machine used every second day, more at weekend, so gets a lot of use.
The cutlery tray is brilliant- I also use the gaps for small ramekins and egg cups.

Siemens dishwashers are very good and some have a cutlery tray.
