Good morning from a sunny and dry midlands. No real plans today. Feel down lately. I’ve been watching Grantchester lately and it touched on PTSD after being in Burma during WW2 and my dad had that. There was no help for that back then. So sad.

Good morning Mick and everyone from frosty Carlisle where it was 1°C at dawn. It's a beautiful sunny day...so far.
Yesterday's weather was strange, warmish sun interspersed with frequent showers, some of them extremely heavy. We had a magnificent rainbow at one point.
I drove south down the coast to an art exhibition which didn't disappoint, it featured a local famed artist, Percy Kelly, and others with local connections, some new to me. It's very interesting to see scenes painted decades ago and compare them with today. After a tour of the rest of the museum, where I and one other couple were sadly the only visitors, I drove home via the garden centre where I offloaded my used pots for recycling and failed to resist buying some more plants.
Today, the ironing and the swabbing of bathrooms and then to please myself with whatever takes my fancy.

good morning Mick and all Gn's. from a sunny but cold looking north yorkshire.

Looks lovely out, but not even dressed yet. Bad night, and sat in dressing gown waiting to feel able to get into the shower, which hopefully will help. The great morning cheerer of Bach and fresh coffee has helped. I wish someone could make a perfume "eau de cafe" I do love the smell of it especially in the morning.

Lady picked me up so that I was able to go to whist last night. Glad to go, good to see people and have some company, although no great hands, but at least a couple where I was pleased with my strategy to get the most tricks I could , so the brain did manage to have something else to think of.

I am longing to see some snowdrops and it is tantalising to see pictures of lovely gardens when I cant even get up the dale at the moment. Harrogate always has a wonderful show of crocus all along the Stray about now. Dont even feel up to going out on the yellow peril today, but maybe when the painkillers kick in I might venture out.

Bellasnana, hope the little ones are a bit better today and that you manage to get a little rest yourself. RosesandLilac and Ashcombe , lucky you to have some flowers out to enjoy. Wish I had a magic carpet to fly over your gardens!
Marydoll, what a horrible person that GP sounds. You wonder why such people choose that work when they obviously are without empathy or people skills at all! But one silver lining is how angry you feel now and in battle mode!! Go to it and demolish the wretched person. I hope that you write into the practise and tell them that in no circumstances do you want her to be involved with your care at all. We understand how busy doctors are especially now but that does not give her the right to skip checking things out and at the minimum be up to date with what is on your card. It is very hard when you are feeling so rotten to have to defend yourself against such poor attitudes and lack of care, and hope that you can speak to someone else who is more trustworthy and thoughtful. Whilst we may not have their medical knowledge we are an expert on ourselves and our comments on our symptoms should be listened too and respected. There are times when I have a vision of myself with a large squishy cake just throwing it at their supercilious faces!! May the day improve for you. Good wishes to all for today and lets hope the sun now remembers where we are and comes visiting more often!

Good morning everyone from Málaga! It’s forecast 19°C with sunny spells today but the BBC website shows rain for the rest of the week. Oo-er muther! Well to be honest I care not as it’s just wonderful for us both to be able to come out, two years now post diagnosis. Not everyone is so lucky and I’m very grateful for all we have.

We went into the corner bar below on arrival. Nelly the Argentinian owner squealed with joy to see us - especially Himself looking so good. “Guapo mi amigo!”

Himself is already pottering, reminding me of what is stored in various cupboards and boxes. He has never been one to let the grass grow under his feet - whereas I … well let’s just say opposites attract!

Late morning we will stroll up into Arroyo de la Miel as we have an annual bill to pay. The solictor’s office who acted for us buying the place pay all our community fees and utilities and we settle up every March. Stress free admin. Doubtless we shall sit and enjoy a coffee and people watch for an hour before coming home. The rest of the day will unfold as it will.

Good morning Mick and all from the Angus coast where the sun rose with a beautiful pink glow in a cloudless blue sky. We are forecast a lovely day, so I shall look for a nook in the sun for my morning coffee when I get back from tai chi.
On my way into Dundee yesterday I saw wonderful swathes of yellow and purple crocuses under the trees by the roadside, and then an area where the daffodils are just beginning to burst into flower. So cheering! That must be a very sheltered stretch of road because none of my garden daffs is in bloom yet.
I had a lovely long chatty lunch with DGD3 yesterday - it was so worth the trudge over the hard city pavements. I have discovered that my hips don't hurt if I walk fast! In tai chi we have the expression "upper body follow lower body". Well I can tell you that my lower body steps out briskly but my upper body has a job keeping up and becomes quite breathless!
I haven't had any more updates on DGS's chemo treatment so I'm assuming no news is good news and all is going as planned.
I hope everyone has a good/better day today and that illnesses respond to treatment, the rain clears up and the sunshines everywhere ☀️🌱🪻🌷

Good morning all cold but fairly bright with no rain forecast here in Essex.

Yesterday was busy with this and that culminating in choir last night. We’re due to perform a surprise ‘flash’ gig on Saturday in Southend High Street, when we have to just act as shoppers then when we hear the music start up, whip our coats off (uniform underneath) and sing for our lives. 😳. I haven’t done this before but apparently it works. The choir makes so much money for charity and will be on the local news 🤞.

Today I’m meeting Dd and dgd1 for lunch, back here and DGD will pick up her little sister from school. She’ll be sooo excited.

Marydoll words fail me . You must feel like ‘you’re banging your head against a brick wall’.

We are having a great week with out two sets of long time friends, ( around 45 year).
Lots of chat , reminiscing , laughter and food !
Today we are going for brunch at a recommended cafe and then on to the Panacea Museum.
Out for dinner this evening.

Good morning everyone from a sunny (for now) Wiltshire.

DH picked up a different child this week for the day on Tuesday. 😂 DGS2 was far more fun this week and we all had a good day. He helped do some pruning in the garden and in the afternoon we watched Dawn of the Nugget, the Ardman animation which he loved. He will be back at his nursery next week. DGD3 was her usual sunny self after school pickup on Monday.

I’ve ordered a tote bag from a Japanese company for our upcoming cruise. It would make a good aircraft cabin bag too. I hope it turns up.

I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult time Bella with lots of childcare, your poorly twin grandson and your own cold to contend with. I feel under appreciated at times too.

Thinking of Auntieflo in hospital and Marydoll with her health battles. 💐for you both. There have been a lot of poorly people of late.

Cloudless sky and a lovely sunny morning so a positive start to the day. U3A book group this morning, discussing George Orwell’s The Road to Wigan Pier which has some alarming parallels with today. Should be a lively session, then a supermarket trip as DD and DSiL arrive tomorrow and catering for one won’t cut it, especially as they are here until Tuesday.

So cross on your behalf, Marydoll, there must be someone you can raise your justifiable concerns with. It’s not as if you don’t have enough to deal with!

Grandmabatty, I bet the DHT is probably waiting for the download of funding , just before the end of the financial year. We used to only have a few days notice to spend it.
I once spent £7000 on ink for our printers!. We had totally run out.

Morning all from South Lanarkshire, getting ready to depart for Oban/Connel where I’m ‘childminding’ for a week. Since both DGD and DGS are taller than me (DGS 6ft 4) I am using the term somewhat loosely!
It’s more being the adult in the house but I feel now that even that’s debatable, they are both so capable. DD and SIL have done a good job.

I’m looking forward to the bus journey today, the weather is lovely and the scenery so beautiful.

Glad to think of the FGTs out in Malaga, they love it so much.

Taxi due soon so will just say I’m wishing everyone the best day possible especially those facing additional challenges, you are always in my thoughts.

I know Marydoll. I wasn't complaining as it's a very finite pot and she did hint as much when I started. The school library service is spending a substantial amount on new stock and the proceeds of a sponsored read next week are going to the school library. That all means new bookcases will be needed pronto! I see it all as a good thing because it's promoting reading. I meant to say that doctor's manners was appalling. 😡

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞🌞 Northampton, what a nice change after yesterday's torrential rain.

I stayed in all day yesterday, as book club had been cancelled due to illness; sadly it seems as though we may not meet again; another member is taking a break, so with only three of us left I inferred from Tuesday's email we might be calling it a day. A pity really, as I enjoyed going. We started with 8 of us before Covid, and gradually the numbers have declined, due to life, illness, work, and sadly in one case, death, getting in the way.

However, I got lots done yesterday: defrosted the kitchen freezer, made a chicken hotpot in the slow cooker, changed the bedding, washed and dried said bedding, and then shortened a pair of jeans.

Also been in touch with RosiesMaw to organise another day out with lunch and shopping in Milton Keynes!

Will have a late breakfast this morning, then collect two pairs of trousers from the dressmaker, then walk on down to the village for my hairdresser 's appointment; will have a colour and cut, but not sure what she will do with it, as I have been growing it since before Christmas when I said I wanted a change.

Then to M&S Food to pick up a new bra ordered yesterday. (like glammagran a purchase for the cruise which by complete chance we are both on!). 45 days to go now, glammagran!

Easy dinner tonight - some of yesterday's hotpot to reheat, and also two more portions to put in the freezer.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Very pleased yesterday to be told, after an ultrasound, that the little lump on my lymph node scar under my arm is just scar tissue and not anything to worry about. It’s been on my mind for weeks.
There were terrible roadworks on the way to the hospital. It’s a good thing I left plenty of time as I then had the usual round and round the multi storey car park looking for a space.

Just house catch up today and a practise of songs. Thoughts to all🌺
