Good Morning Everyone,
A dark , but dry start here in brackley could be milder outside .
My usual routine on the bus to Bicester , yesterday returning home I spotted bluebells out in the grounds of a retirement home in Bicester.
My health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy, still no sign of the sun up here
Safe journey home tomorrow Llfl and FGT
Well done in finding the transaction early RosesandLilac, a need to be vigilant these days
I’ve a volunteering session this afternoon but apart from that nothing else planned but I’ve lots to keep me busy
So pleased to hear that you eventually saw your own GP marydoll, enjoy your day with Babydoll today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

NannyJan I used to teach Death of a Salesman. I always asked for volunteers to read the parts when we read it in class. The main character is called Willy Loman. One class were not keen to take part and out of my mouth came, "Come on, I need a Willy "
That caused many giggles but I did get a volunteer.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. We have very welcome sunshine here, a tonic after the incessant rain of the last couple of days.

Marydoll I’m sorry to hear how you’re struggling just now. Hopefully the medication will work on your mouth.
Years ago I suffered badly from mouth ulcers. My remedy, passed on from my mother, was to put salt on them. The pain! I’m definitely not recommending this but it worked for me.

Yesterday we went to actual shops to buy birthday gifts for our eldest grandchild. It was quite nice to be in the shops rather than just buying online.

A longer dog walk today I think if it stays dry. Parish meeting this evening.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Marydoll so hope you find relief and pleased your GP is taking action!

Grandmabaty I am sure that did lighten the atmosphere in class smile

Good morning everyone from yet another sunny day in Wiltshire, the 6th in a row and very welcome it is too.

Yesterday, DH rebuilt, a bench as the wood had rotted which will be ideal for potting plants on.

Earlier in the week we were delighted to see the return of one of the 2 juvenile hedgehogs which had taken up residence in boxes we’d provided. One disappeared in late November never to be seen again and the last time we fed the second was at the end of December. We’d left dried food out on a weekly basis and on Sunday the food went and the next day after the camera was switched back on we saw it enter the feeding station eat all the food and water and dive back into the larger of the 2 boxes. It had been in hibernation but despite looking in the box which was completely filled with straw and leaves we’d missed it. 🦔

Today we might drive out to Malmesbury.

*Grandnabatty DD2 had a cabin bed in her early teens with the bed above. It was a nightmare changing her bedding I remember.

Hope you feel better asap Marydoll. It must be miserable having mouth ulcers and hope you have been prescribed something that works better for you. Hope everyone with illness and troubles feels better soon.

Have a good journey back to the UK llfl.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
I noticed there were lots of daffodils out when we went shopping yesterday.
We made dinner together, stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in bacon, we also had a very nice white wine.
Sister and BIL are visiting this afternoon, didn't see them last week as BIL was birdwatching.
Have a good day.

Good morning all from a very bright east coast of Fife, it feels cold and the heating has kicked in to 18 degrees . I’m having a rest day today, my chest is still a little wheezy and I was up several times through the night to the loo because I’ve been drinking lots of water.

Today I’ll have a poached egg on toast with fresh orange juice, I bought corn flakes yesterday as I’ve run out of breakfast cereal and I do enjoy cornflakes.
I hear the bin men coming around, lucky for me my kind neighbour puts my bins out and he even brings them back in.

Remember to smile today it might brighten someone’s day love to you all

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton day. I think I will do some washing to test out my new whirly washing line!

DS arrived yesterday morning complete with bag of tools to dig the old spike out and install the new line; we began to think that DH had concreted the old spike in as it seemed immovable - but no, it was just a very long spike which had really bedded into the clay. New line is now installed, so shall try it out later. Thankfully DS offered to take the old line to the tip for me.

We also tried out asking Alexa to call a number in case of emergency - I had been worried that I might have an emergency at home away from any phone and not be able to call for help. Thankfully it worked: I just need to shout "Alexa, call DS or DD or even 999." I have three Alexas, kitchen, sitting room and bedroom, so should work from anywhere in the house.

Finished up the rest of the pancake batter yesterday afternoon (it made three more pancakes), then spent a couple of hours in the garden dealing with a.very untidy climbing hydrangea and pulling ivy off a wall. Managed to cut the ivy off at ground level, then removed more ivy which was in danger of strangling a flowering cherry tree. It was lovely in the sunshine 🌞🌞.

Some washing to do this morning to test out the new washing line, then a Waitrose delivery,.and may even have time to clean the bathrooms before then.

Sausage, mash and fried onions for dinner tonight.

Have a lovely day in the springlike weather everyone.

Morning from Connel, my lovely time with my grandchildren is over for another while and I’m heading home this afternoon. 6ft tall gangly DGS turned as he was heading out the door and muttered ‘love you’, my heart is full!
DD and SIL enjoyed their skiing so all good.

After a drizzly day yesterday the sky has brightened up so hopefully a nice run home. Yesterday I made the effort to make it through the rain to mass and Ashes in Oban. On the bus back the bus driver smiled very kindly at me an when I got back into the house I saw that the aforesaid ashes had spread over a fair part of my face in the rain leaving me with a distinct baglady look. Oh well😊.

Safe journey home FGT’s and Llfl. I’m glad you have both enjoyed your trips.

Remembering all with sadness and worries and wishing a good day to all.

GrandmaC47 Thu 06-Mar-25 09:15:02

Morning from a bright, dry Co Durham.
Bed stripped ready for our cleaner to remake it later.
Thank you for your birthday greetings yesterday. Spent a quiet day after the trauma of Tuesday’s nose bleed.
Md hope your medication works asap.
Safe travels to those on the move.
Don’t work too hard 😂😂 and enjoy your day.

Good morning all. Sunny start to the day but chilly winds are still ongoing in Glasgow.

I feel like a rag doll this morning due to only four hours sleep. A chap, from the fencing company is due to arrive between 8.30/12.00 am! Roadworks chaos start on our road today, new gas pipes being laid and I was told only yesterday access to my property will be required at some point throughout day!! I have a 3.00pm appointment, fingers crossed I can a keep it! Prior knowledge would have been appreciated.

My best wishes to all for a good day.

GrannySomerset Thu 06-Mar-25 09:31:59

After a fairly busy yesterday today is empty but cleaning the inside of the windows is an ever present task made obvious by the sunshine - day five here and so welcome.

Glad Marydoll finally saw her own GP (which surely ought not to be such a rare treat) and hope the. new prescriptions work soon.

Grammaretto Thu 06-Mar-25 09:40:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's sunny! I will sit outside and drink a coffee but with my coat on. We in Scotland need every drop of vitamin D.
Though Marydoll when I had my BCC removed from my nose, the dermatologist said I should wear a sunhat.
I grew up in NZ and assumed the skin cancer was because of that Sunny country.

Safe journey home Roses and enjoy your last days FGT .

I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in years as I have found a pal to go with. I am determined to go at least once a week. this was my Ash Wednesday penitence
Hoping for a good day for everyone.

Good morning from 11°C Sunnyside sand dunes, northwest coast.
Interesting lunchtime recital yesterday, a percussionist with a vibraphone playing Bach etc. Different.

Today I need to photocopy the communications from a firm who have offered to retrieve investments from late DHs estate for my solicitor, plus singing practice and house stuff.
I am now confirmed for my surgical removal of broken tooth and (quiet at the moment) abscess. I hope it doesn’t clash with the family holiday abroad.

I’m watching a very old cosy series called “The Cedar Tree” on YouTube from 1976 and really enjoying it.
Thoughts to all as always🌺

Blossoming Thu 06-Mar-25 10:10:08

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. It feels much warmer here, the temperature has actually hit double digits. Yesterday’s ophthalmology appointment went very well. The ophthalmologist said my vision is good, apart from the splotches on my retinas. She has recommended ongoing Botox every 6 months as they are being beneficial. It was a long day so will have a lazy day today.

Happy Thursday from the Red Rose county 🌹

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 06-Mar-25 11:45:40

I used to love listening to ‘Red Rose’ radio back in the day Blossoming whenever we took the girls (and sometimes my mum before she met my stepfather) when we went on holiday to Morecambe. It was “holiday time” when the car radio picked up the signal.

Glad your eye appointment went well yesterday. Feet up now to relax feeling somewhat reassured hopefully.
