I bought a ticket today. 🤞
Have you?

No. smile I do the lottery twice a week by direct debit and am patiently waiting for my £1 million. Actually, my ideal would be £5m, to give each of the offspring a million and donate one to charities (yes, I have thought about it!). But £166 million would overface me and trying to decide what to do with it all would probably tip me over the edge.

👍🤞🏻

You can give some to me Maggiemaybe and some other Gransnetters may help too 😊

I’ve already decided what to do with my millions!

Millions to The Christie Hospital here in Manchester.
The £66 million to be given £1 million each to 66 people I know. Bring all my friends along for the ride.
Then … Share the rest between family.

Sorted.
If I think about it too much it’d stress me out.
So just offload most of it (in a good way). 😂

I passed a musician in the square below. He’s really good playing his acoustic guitar every Friday. I always give him a £1 coin for entertaining us but I only had a 50p piece in my purse.

“Never mind J… I’ve just bought a EuroMillions ticket. I’ll see you next week and give you your share.

He’d be one of my 66 people. Always so kind, been here years and never fails to ask after Himself.

It would be better for the lottery to make 66 individual millionaires instead of the money all going to one person. I might just open up my purse for that.

That's an obscene amount of money.... but I'd have no trouble finding things to spend it on!
Firstly, family and friends, then local causes and charities. Anything to do with children, animals and the Arts.
Would it change my life? Too right. Ticket ready and waiting to win!

We very rarely buy a lottery ticket but DH bought one today.

If we don't win then at least 70p has gone to good causes.

Cossy Fri 21-Mar-25 15:28:09

Yup! Spent it in my head too hahaha

Allira Fri 21-Mar-25 15:41:39

My head hurts when I think about it.

Mind you, if Maggiemaybe wants to throw the odd £6 million my way when she wins, I could cope with that.

Any millionaires this morning?? I don’t usually buy a euromillions ticket but gave in to temptation yesterday and bought one online. I forgot to check the results last night and noticed I had a National Lottery email this morning saying “Good news you’ve won a prize”

I signed in to find I’d won £2.50 for 2 correct numbers. I think I’ll reinvest it in a lucky dip for the lotto tonight. The prize fund is £11.6 million. That’ll be easier to count than the £166 million.

Maggiemaybe Sat 22-Mar-25 08:33:59

Well seeing as I only want £5 million, we can share it, Grannynannywanny. smile

I didn't buy a ticket -perhaps I shall in future .
If I won such an enormous amount of money I'd like to provide transport for the elderly people in my area .
When they need to attend a medical appointment or shop it's a nightmare for them .
Our local taxi service isn't good .
It's not available during the afternoons because of contracts with local schools .
There's a lack of taxi drivers .
Some are extremely rude and unhelpful .
I'd also like to provide outings for them .
I visit elderly ladies ,who are housebound and they have no quality of life and nothing to look forward to .

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 22-Mar-25 08:45:05

I’ve not checked my ticket yet.
I’m enjoying TIB and my reassuringly quiet life while I (maybe still) can! 😂

Good on you Esmay!!

JenniferEccles Sat 22-Mar-25 09:11:25

Good luck with your ticket FGT2 although this morning you would probably happily settle for your passports to arrive!!

ronib Sat 22-Mar-25 09:28:19

Thanks for the reminder - now what numbers do we need?? I feel a 2 is in the air ….

Usedtobeblonde Sat 22-Mar-25 09:56:14

Has it been announced which country the winner lives in?
If it is GB I might check the first ticket I have ever bought, prompted by this thread.

escaped Sat 22-Mar-25 09:57:42

There is no winner!
£188 million next week

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 22-Mar-25 10:00:07

I didn’t win. 😢
But as Himself reminds me - I can’t be lucky in love AND money!

Will be checking our postbox this afternoon JE but I’m not very hopeful. Apparently Royal Mail send a text message first to say it’s on its way and we haven’t received one (yet).
