Good Morning from Durham. A grey, gloomy start, but Alexa forecasts sunny soon.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then on the hunt for a decent mascara.
Going to scrape moss from the patio later - exciting, not!

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Need to drop DH blood pressure readings into the surgery whilst there will pop into Asda which is next door.
DH has his fishing AGM this evening so I can finish my book that I started yesterday, relaxed with no television in the background.
🤞fgt the passports arrive.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a dont know morning! The sky is grey but also quite bright, no wind or rain but not sunny either so it is wait and see how things go!

Still annoyingly creaky this morning, but think that my eye is slowly improving. Certainly less gritty thank goodness. This morning need to go for my prescription and fingers crossed they have it all available. My chemist is very good but sometimes there are problems with getting things and I only have my diabetic tablets until tomorrow, which is not how I like to be, ordering them in the time they ask for but if they are not available it is a bit worrying. Usually have two weeks worth available.

I also am going to be polite but very insistent with the plumber. He did everything very well but the basin was not right and I know that they have the correct one ready for him but it is weeks and he has not been to finish it off. Whilst it was very cold I didnt try to chase him as know what it is like to be stuck with much worse situation , but I am getting fed up with it not being finished. The flooring in the hall is not finished either and that is another thing I shall be trying to get organised. It is the end of march and the disaster with the bathroom was 11 weeks before christmas and was back here the friday before christmas and so have just had enough. If I can only get these things finished perhaps then I can look forward !! Think I need to get the secateurs out and go snipping things which is quite satisfying and gets rid of rattiness!!

I had planned to start going through some boxes of books , and deciding what I am prepared to give away, which I find much more difficult than clothes or furniture, but right now not in the mood to look at them, so ditching that idea , and much better idea is that if it clears up a little more I shall go out in the car. Freedom freedom!! There is a world outside the range of the yellow peril.

I might go to the dizzying heights of a journey to Thirsk. It is all of about 10 miles away and I can treat myself to a visit to their lovely independent book shop. They also have a little cafe there and if it is warm enough , have a small garden at the back where you can sit. It will be lovely to go there and also I am sad to hear that the lady who owns it is selling. She is retiring so fingers crossed it gets sold to another person of a similar ilk. I have always tried to support them and encouraged others to do so. There is something special about a good shop like this. Individual and interesting. I always had to do other shopping first as once I get in there can spend ages and the time just rushes past. So think that that is a very suitable trip for my first time out and about.

I have also decided that I want to get rid of two largish chairs and a big dresser style piece of furniture. They are all in very good order and in a way I shall be sorry to see them go, but time to be firm with myself. If I am still going to keep a lot of books (which I am!) I could make much more use of the space with a decent book case, and want to get more space. anyway .

Then I am going through my pictures. I used to live in a very big old terrace house with high ceilings and so had plenty of places to hang water colours , without direct light on them ,and all sorts. Here it is lighter but have less space anyway, so have it rather like a gallery, where I change pictures round as and when it suits me. But it is time to try and cut down. Whether I can is another matter. Every picture has its back story for me, and many were bought with my husband. It was a rule that we kept, that we both had to like a specific painting to have it up in the house So at least I am getting into that spring mood of thinking about sorting things out and moving on. For today I shall just be happy if I can sort out the prescription and get hold of the plumber!!

I hope everyone has a good day and have a rest where possible. The sun seems to be at last coming out so hope that you all have some sunshine too. Enjoy your day

Dental hygienist this morning, never a joy, doctors’ surgery this afternoon, so a maintenance day ahead. Grey skies but not much rain in the forecast until later in the week so the garden will probably call as some decisions needed about a couple of shrubs which look less than happy.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Had the quietest day in a long while yesterday. I could have painted a picture, practised songs or written something, but that familiar ennui came over me and I just read.

Gardener didn’t turn up, never know when he’s coming, but as he’s a willing handyman as well, I put up with it…
This morning will shake a leg and meet up with friend from the now debunked bookgroup for coffee in the village. I have books to return which were on loan and a couple more. One is the lovely Persephone edition, but I don’t want to hold on to books now.

Thoughts to all as always🌺

Good morning from N. Bucks.
After a busy weekend helping DD2 with her house packing I have realised that we really need to have a good clear out of our ‘stuff’.
Today I have an appointment with the nurse re. BP ad then off to WI knitting group for a couple of hours.
I also hope to get a couple of small jobs done in the garden if the rain holds off.
Wishing all a good day.

Morning from an overcast S Hants, not cold though, late yesterday was murky with rain and mist.
Voluntary phone today as usual, in between calls I’ll cook down some venison for a pie tomorrow, I need to nip to the local M&S food hall for a couple of things first.
Quiz tonight.

Good morning from Somerest where it's overcast but promising sun later.

My first time on this very cheerful thread so thank you Mike and everyone for having me. I'm off to choose new carpet today and then back to paint my understairs cupboard. Slimming World later where I do the weighing and have a very happy sociable time each week.

Good morning Mick and all, and welcome to Churchview. I like your user name - it makes me think you live in a lovely little village of stone-built houses, and yours has a view of the old village church.
I'm late again by the standards of the early morning crew, but I got up and just 'got going' this morning. The kitchen is done and the washing is almost ready to hang out, and I am about to finish up the tai chi paperwork. After that I shall just potter and enjoy the return of the sunshine. I expect some of the time will involve sitting by the pond! And reading your many posts while enjoying a cup of coffee and a 'naughty' of some sort. Have a good day everyone ☀️

Good morning from a gloriously sunny Co Armagh, but the temperature doesn’t match !
Expecting EE engineers this morning to ruin my landline ! I’m going digital kicking and screaming!,
Thinking of those not posting , or unable to post 💐
