Good morning Mick and all GN's frrom a sunny dry north yorkshire morning.
I am a bit later this morning, as the forecast said sunny and dry this morning, rain beginning this afternoon and probably getting worse. So it was hobble into the shower and then get the first load of washing in, so all the towels are having the first wash as they take longer to dry, then the bedding to follow and hope I get it all out on the line and dry before the rain starts.
I have been quite industrious yesterday, partly by choice and partly having to! It was a lovely sunny morning then, but I had booked for a delivery from Tesco and had to stay in waiting for it. However the man did come on time, and was very good about bringing it all in the kitchen for me. So by the time I had got it sorted and put away, was ready for a sit down. Couldnt bear to stay in while the weather was so lovely and am now free to drive, so in the afternoon went for a bit of a drive and to fill up on fuel . Then in the evening was picked up to go to whist drive. Very pleasant evening, but for some reason the room was very warm and everyone was mentioning it. There was no breeze at all last night and with 8 tables that meant 32 people so think we all warmed the place up. Some very odd hands, but I did improve on the second half and won a rather posh tin of danish biscuits.
So it is taking me ages but feel that I am slowly getting back to whatever passes for normal. Still struggling for a decent sleep and it takes me ages to get moving in the morning. However it is good to feel I am beginning to catch up with everyday things and now all the ironing is up to date, have a grand selection of things to wear.
Mundane morning now, hopefully getting all the washing out on the line, and the bed remade. Anything else I manage to do today will be a bonus. It is satisfying though to have everything clean including me even though it wont last for long. The only other thing I must do is get the calendar brought up to date. Have had a couple of appointments come just when I was going out and so didnt put them on, and it is easy to forget something when you are on your own and no one to remind you.
Karmalady, I used to sail and I had a sailing smock which might be the sort of thing you are looking for. It went over your head, was dense enough material (thick cotton I think) to cope with the wind, had long sleeves and then a wide deep pocket across the front, so you could shove things in it So perhaps if you made it with a divide in the middle it would let you carry seeds or secateurs and gloves or whatever and the sleeves protect you from scratchy brambles or nettles

Must go and sort out the washer. It is making odd sounds and think the towels must have all got in a big lump together as it is banging about.
