Good morning from a chilly, dawning Bristol.
Yesterday went well. I dined at DD’s. We had pizza outside. SiL had been given a gas pizza oven when he left a previous job and they use it outside. We then rushed back for DGD’s concert. Lovely singing from the youngsters. A very beautiful Pergolese “stabat mater” by two gifted young women. DGD has a small solo in Elgar’s “Ave Verum”. She was very nervous but did well.
This evening, I’m going to a concert of Bach cantatas. I absolutely love the complicated music of that period, Bach in particular.
Have a good weekend all, enjoy the improving temperatures. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, lovely and sunny today

No ifs, no buts, I am going on a bike ride today, who knows how long the lovely weather will last. Using my old pedelec e bike today, I need that extra push up the hills, to get fit enough to ride my (manual) road bike up local hills I am so glad my husband bought me a very good e bike in 2008, made in Germany, cost a lot but was worth it, especially now. I wonder every year if I will get back to being fit enough after winter

A dreamy day yesterday, busy all day but took my time and have cut out a top which is ready to sew. Mouche bear number 2 is started, I took it out 3 times and have ended up using size 2 dpns, which are the size of matchsticks, the head is almost done

Thinking always of Marydoll, such a stoic brave person.

Have a good day

Good morning from a cloudy Malta where it seems we are in for more rainy days until Wednesday when it is forecast to be sunny again.

I have only just woken up, must admit I’m worn out as it has been a rather tiring week with the boys. They are full of energy as they should be for almost three year olds, but Nana is feeling her age these days!😄

I shall slowly get on with some household chores today but I foresee quite a lot of coffee breaks with my feet up.

That sounds like a lovely day grandMattie and what a brave DGD singing a solo. You must be very proud of her.

Yes, FGT, we are in the same time zone whilst you are in your happy place. I always feel you are a bit closer when you are there. 😊

Have a good day everyone.☀️

Hello all from a less windy St Paul’s Bay in Malta 👋

👏 - the sun 🌞 made an appearance yesterday morning and Mr PG spent a few hours lolling on a sunbed around the pool while I went for a bracing walk around the headland 🌬️

What a lucky lady Bellasnana is, living on this stunning island with so much to see and do. We’re so booked up with trips we probably won’t get to Camino and Gozo this time, so guess what?..we’ll need to come back!🤗

Will catch up with all your doings later and hope the weekend goes well for you and yours x

Good morning from Torbay where we have a beautiful sunrise indicating some sunny hours this morning at least.

My three offspring sent me this beautiful basket of flowers on Thursday, in readiness for Mothering Sunday. They were supplied by an excellent small florist located nearby which does an online service and from whom we regularly order flowers, including for our wedding back in 2015.

These Spring days are a real joy to see and I recognise how poorly I’ve been in recent months leading up to hospital by how much better I feel now, especially in terms of my mental capacity. (eg. solving Wordle and other puzzles, remembering tablets, especially new regime, etc)

Thinking of all who are feeling unwell and happy holidays to those who are travelling eg. FriedGreenTomatoes2.

Have a good weekend, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a frosty hillside in south Glos, clear skies and a sunny day ahead. The wind was bitter yesterday but the washing dried well. I bathed tiddler (she had a skin condition that needs regular baths) and we had a lovely time sitting in the summerhouse with Annie (they’re getting on ready well together).
Today I think we’ll go to the next village for a walk and stop for a coffee, a change of scenery and a chance to enjoy a slice of delicious cake 😋
I hope you have a peaceful weekend 🌹

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. No rain for now, it was so cold yesterday it felt quite wintry.

Not surprised you’re tired Bellasnana, childcare is exhausting no matter how much we love them.

It’s been a busy week so today will be a day of pottering I think. There’s housework to be done and an audio book to keep me company.

Good to hear that you’re feeling so much better Ashcombe.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Greyduster Sat 29-Mar-25 06:40:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is shining - and it’s calm. It was blowing hard yesterday, scattering the garden chairs around the patio. I gave the house a clean, made a cake and made my second visit to the supermarket. On first visit, after struggling to find a parking space, I found I had left my handbag at home so had to abandon it! I’m getting very forgetful these days.
DS and DiL are coming down to take me for a pre- Mother’s Day lunch. One of DiL’s sons and his fiancée are also joining us but will go back early because they have another commitment. The gardener I use is coming this evening to discuss grass cutting and a small job I want to get out of the way. So a full on day.

Greyduster Sat 29-Mar-25 06:40:51

Oops! Have the best day you can, folks!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Mar-25 06:42:25

Morning everyone, no idea what the weather is like today, curtains are still closed, I am reading under the duvet as DH is still sleeping.

Local food shop first thing, then I have two chocolate cakes to bake for tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all. Such a beautiful start with a golden sunrise in Glasgow but not for long as rain and high winds are predicted for this afternoon.

I had such a lovely day meeting up with a couple who are friends of many years. We regularly met up for a meal and although, initially, I was so aware of DH’s absence I began to relax and enjoy being in their company again. One more step into my new normal.
Being such a wet day I decided not to doing a bit of shopping beforehand. I will happily change the clocks forward tonight into spring especially as the week ahead looks promising.

What a glorious bouquet Ash. A selection and colours I would have chosen myself.

Have the best day possible all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 29-Mar-25 06:47:40

Morning all from a frosty West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday wasn’t as quiet as I’d hoped! I had bits of admin to do and my successor as WI secretary popped round for some paperwork. I also made two batches of cakes - a raspberry buttermilk cake and some raspberry and honey fairy cakes. OH spent the evening at his Bee group.

Our daughter is arriving sometime today. I think she is seeing her niece (my granddaughter) this morning and will get the train to Oxford after lunch.

It would have been mum’s 94th birthday today (and mother in law’s 109th!).

I hope the FGT2S are enjoy the sun and MaryD can have good news on her medication.

Have a good day.

luluaugust Sat 29-Mar-25 06:59:15

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where we are preparing for a busy day, it is DH’s 82nd birthday. We are having lunch with all the available family. DD2 has made a cake for later in the day.
Best wishes to all

Good morning everybody from Málaga where the sun’s up already, the little parakeets are practicing their moves and the Mediterranean looks gorgeous against the blue sky with a deep blue horizontal line. Surely the world IS flat?

No idea what we’ll get up to today. East from here is Torremolinos which we visited yesterday. See pic. West is Fuengirola. I’d like to go but we may decide to leave that till Monday. Down the slope is the paseo. That’s a possibility. Behind us is north - but mountain climbing is definitely not an option!

Our friends from Bolton arrive this evening for two weeks. They always call in Pedro’s on arrival. We may pop in to have a drink with them, be a nice catch up.

Anyhoo …the washing machine is doing its final spin and I shall enjoy a second mug of TIB while I read the newspapers on line and come up with an itinerary for today. When the clocks go forward tonight it will be quite dark here at this time tomorrow!
Such a big difference here.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° with grey skies. It looks less windy than the last couple of days. Ash your flowers look beautiful and I'm glad you are feeling better. GrandMattie I'm another lover of Bach.
Yesterday was a day in the house for me. I changed duvet cover and sheets and washed everything in sight. Sadly it all went in the tumble dryer as the weather was very unpredictable. I got the housework done too and have arranged a couple of social events coming up.
Today I'll finish the washing. Jumpers are already in the machine and my winter dressing gown will be washed before I put it away. I will nip to Aldi for a few things. Later, I'm going for a pre - mother's day lunch with dd and Dsil and his mum. Dgs1 has a birthday party on and I don't think dgs2 is coming. Afterwards I will potter about. I intend to make soup this morning in the slow cooker and will probably have a bowl later. Have a good day all

Good morning all after overnight frost the sun is shining with a clear blue sky.
A trip to the bank to do some transfers so will have a look around M&S outlet see if they have any bargains.
Friends coming later and we shall go over to the club.
Being Saturday the usual full English will be calling soon so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Beautiful sunny morning here in East London.
Yesterday evening went to DGDs dance concert. Amazing dancing with some acrobatics. All different races and some wearing headscarves. So glad they have the freedom to dance like that. Lots of music new to me.
DH off to work, out for brunch with DDand young ones.
Then catching up on things at home.
Thanks very much for this thread!
It's very helpful each morning.

Good morning all from a chilly but sunny North Leicestershire.

We are having a relaxing start before taking Persie for lunch and then birthday shopping. She has a plan! Think of us.

Have the best day possible, everyone!

Happy birthday to your DH luluaugust 🎉🎂.

Gingster Sat 29-Mar-25 07:07:18

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.

We had a gentle stroll around RHS Hyde Hall yesterday and we were lucky with the warm sun appearing. The spring flowers looked glorious. Then on to meet our Friday gang which was only 10 minutes away.

Back home to see dgd1 , ‘home’ for a few days.

Today Dd is taking me for afternoon tea at a themed venue , which has great reviews. ☕️🍰🥪.

I’m glad you’re feeling more yourself Ash. 👍.

Take care all 🌹🌷

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a sunny , windless, but cold looking North yorkshire morning.

I am creaking around, trying to hurry slowly!! Yesterday was able to drive the car ok, and did some shopping and checked about an oil change on the car and then it was so nice, and I felt I must make the most of the day, so got my picnic stuff together and drove to Saltburn. It was lovely to see the sea at last, and I managed a rather slow walk on the cliff tops with my binoculars out. So was able to see the shipping and the all the windfarm with turning arms like a ballet. Was thinking about how even the sea is getting to have more hazards to cope with now, with distances to keep off things like that. More things to add to the charts. It was very cold and windy and had to cram a hat on to stop my hair catching into my eye. Didnt stay too long but it did feel good to be out and about at last.

Today I am also going mad and off to Harrogate to Harlow Carr as it is the spring show. I did not book to go before as did not know how my eye would be. These days I have to book a buggy to be able to go round as cannot walk round even half of it any more, so with the buggy I can still enjoy the gardens. I have been an RHS member for a long time and have missed being able to go there. Anyway without much hope I rang to see if there was any chance of booking a buggy and hurrah have got one for this morning, from 9.30am.

But just having my coffee and then putting things together and getting off early, as I need a disabled parking place and it will be busy on the roads anyway, so I am sticking all sorts in the car from sunglasses to thick coat and mac as the weather is said to get worse later. Then will buy a Yorkshire post and will have my coffee things sorted, so hopefully I can have a decent journey and can sit with my coffee and paper quite happily until they open. It really feels quite exciting to be going on a trip today, and even though physically not doing well today am cheered and uplifted by at last being able to choose what I want to do, No doubt I shall be paying for it tomorrow but dont care. I am thankful for today.

I do hope that everyones day goes well and that they can enjoy it, with plans working out or some nice surprise.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Mar-25 07:20:12

Gingster are you going to MDAE ?

If so you are in for a wonderful afternoon 🍰🧁🫖🥪

cornergran Sat 29-Mar-25 07:21:50

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright corner of Somerset.

Busy day yesterday with two unscheduled dashes out. On one return we found very pretty flowers waiting from one part of the family.

Today we’re off on a coach to a light concert. A new experience and a bit of an experiment for us. A brunch and a clock change before we go, the clocks are likely to say 3am when we return. Unheard of. I’m sure Mr C will be fast asleep most of the way back. Me? I’ll just be enjoying not being responsible for driving.

Your granddaughter is a brave soul grandmattie, I’m pleased all went well for her. Not surprised you’re tired bellasnana, life is active for sure. Birthday wishes to your husband lulu. Lunch and cake sound good.

Wishing everyone the best day it can be.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞🌞 Northampton, and forecast is set to sunny all day. Woke up this morning dreaming about my up-coming cruise! Just set the washing machine going with the bedding.

Three very active dance classes.yesterday, and was ready for my coffee at the bakery afterwards. Went to get my bus home.yesterday only to find I had forgotten my bus pass, but luckily had enough change to buy a ticket. Then had to wait half an hour as they had cut a bus out.
Called at the post office to return the dress I had ordered as it was too small but I will now try a size bigger.

A visit to the shops later for a small top-up shop, and a coffee in the M&S Cafe beckons.

Hoping to cut the back grass this afternoon

Steak for.dinner tonight with a nice glass of wine.

Wishing all a lovely sunny spring day sunshinesunshine💐🌷🌷🌄
