soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

I seldom post but always read so pleased to see a new comfy kitchen opened.
Sending love and condolences to those who are sad and best wishes to those struggling with pain and illness.
,I try to remember you all in my prayers.
It’s been nice to have some sunshine the last few days but still chilly at night here in Shropshire.
Must remember to put the clocks forward at bed time, the lighter evenings will be welcome.

‘Evening All’.

Great photo of you Baggs with soop thanks for sharing.
I too hope soop feels better soon. She is the glue that holds us all together in here.

We’ve been on the train to Fuengirola. €8 for 2 return tickets! Pretty amazing.

We enjoyed a delicious late lunch at 4pm. Hot sunshine but we sat in the shade in our most favourite square. We had to wait ages (with drinks so it wasn’t too arduous) for a table. The Spanish were out in force this afternoon.

What is it with these prams nowadays for pampered pooches?
I don’t get it!
So many being ferried about … ‘fur babies’ indeed. I think it looks very silly. Obviously big business here.

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing.

I'm on my knees - Persie managed to buy all her list but talks at a million miles an hour and walks even more quickly. Love her bits!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Mar-25 18:52:28

Oh FGT2 I have fond memories of the main square in Fuengirola.

When I am there in three weeks time I will envisage you still there 🥂

DH is cooking, I am drinking white wine, cheers dear virtual friends.

Thinking of all with troubles, illness and recent loss 💐

Hello Redcar thank you for your good wishes. We’ve had a very long, very wet winter. Most of the reservoirs that were almost empty are now at least three quarters full again.
The sun has come out and it’s turned into a delightfull spring. With me doing my best to keep out of the sun because I have developed an allergy to it!

brook2704 Sat 29-Mar-25 19:14:09

Thank you for opening up Baggs and hope Soop is feeling much better soon x

Nannytopsy Sat 29-Mar-25 20:09:31

Best wishes to the soops. I hope they are much better soon.
We’re just back from DGD’s 9th birthday party. It was 10 pin bowling, really quite civilised. 🤣

Usedtobeblonde Sat 29-Mar-25 20:36:13

Good evening all.
I send best wishes to soop and her H and hope they both feel better soon.
To those in low spirits I send cheering thoughts.

Very chilly here today with quite a cool wind.
I am in my bed already and telling myself it is 9:30 and not 8:30 or will be when we put the clocks forward.

My GS is 26 today and my H would have been 89 tomorrow.
It makes me realise what a wide age group we have on GN as some of you or your partners are still working.

I have had a very quiet few days but out tomorrow for a meal with my S, GD and her boyfriend.
Parcels arrived today from my D.
Have the best evening you can everyone.
Sleep well.

Hello all, on last few days of cruise. Alicante on Monday and fly home from Palma on Tuesday. Keep checking in to see a weather report from FGT hopefully warm and sunny, with less of a sea breeze will top up the tan nicely.
Love, thoughts and best wishes to all xx

Hello kitchen people in the New Kitchen. Best wishes to the Soops.

Our daughter is here which is lovely. For Mothering Sunday, she brought me chocolates and the Suffragette Manifesto. Both sons sent me beautiful flowers.

Daughter spent the morning with her niece (my granddaughter) inKew Gardens before catching a train to Oxford.

Have a good evening. I’m feeling a bit wacked so will have an early night

Scapa1 Sat 29-Mar-25 21:01:02

Best wishes to Soop for a quick recovery.

GrandmaC47 Sat 29-Mar-25 21:09:45

Hope you feel better soon, Soop.

Afternoon all,

A quiet day for me as it’s too breezy to do any gardening today. The breeze is making the temperature feel quite cool, though out of it, it’s quite pleasant. At least the sun is shining.

Been to church for the Mothering Sunday service which was lovely. We all came away with a bunch of flowers, so I’ve put a photo of my Mum next to them on the hearth in remembrance of her.

Hoping you feel a bit better today Soop.

hulahoop Sun 30-Mar-25 14:45:04

Ziplock I remember getting a small spray of flowers to give to my mum .It's become too commercialised now I tell my ac a card or call is all I want.

Grandmabatty Sun 30-Mar-25 17:35:28

Good afternoon everyone. I've just had a bout of sneezing! I don't think it's hay fever, but you never can tell. I hope Soop is feeling better now.
I visited mum this morning and she's so frail. She can't even straighten herself up in bed. The care assistant said she's not even eating chocolates now. Oh well, she's survived for six weeks on black magic chocs and irn bru.
I have had a very quiet Mother's Day. Just me. I've enjoyed the peace as my week days are usually busy. I made a trout and leek pie for dinner. The sauce was creme fraiche and mustard. I served it with mash potatoes and petit pois. It was very nice and I have enough left for tomorrow too. I hope everyone is fine and enjoying the day. The weather here has been glorious if slightly cold. I believe the week is to warm up. Whatever you do, have a good Sunday evening.

Jaxjacky Sun 30-Mar-25 18:32:15

Hi all, MrJ, who has been poorly since Friday evening with gastric/heavy cold symptoms is 👍 on the up, slightly, he is miserable though, understandably.
I’ve been to my daughters for a roast, seen my son and have flowers with cards.
A gorgeous day, but cool in the shade with a breeze, now having a glass of white, your health all 🥂

Grandmabatty Sun 30-Mar-25 18:48:46

I'm glad MrJ is feeling a bit better. I've just had an unexpected flying visit from dd, Dsil and the boys with a lovely card and bunch of flowers.

Baggs Sun 30-Mar-25 18:49:33

Soop sends love to her Granspals but is still feeling "yuckie". I relayed your messages.

‘Evening All’.

We’ve been into Benalmádena. It’s a half hour stroll for us. We stopped half way for a coffee and to people watch, as you do.

We met up with friends from Manchester who bought a bar out here in 2018. It was lovely to see them. We’ve not met up since Himself was diagnosed. Bittersweet memories of times past.

Here’s a pic of our walk over at 2pm. Blue sky, palm trees and the Mediterranean. It reassured me that my lovely man was able to do this without too much effort. Small pleasures.

Thinking of you soop. It’s not like you to stay away from your kitchen without very good reason so I’m sending my best wishes. Haste ye back woman.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 30-Mar-25 21:14:35

Good evening all.
I have just come to bed after a lovely day.
I had flowers, plants for the garden, wine and chocolates.
My GD , her boyfriend and I went for a meal at a local pub, my S cried off at the last minute as his anxiety was high😔
My GD and I had a Sunday roast and BF had steak , they both had starter and pudding, I resisted but did have a cocktail.
It was so relaxed and enjoyable and as we went out the manager gave me a box of Dairy Milk chocolates, how sweet was that.
I felt very blessed by today.
I hope many of your days were as good.

brook2704 Sun 30-Mar-25 21:15:34

Thank you for the update Baggs, I hope Soop is feeling much better soon

brook2704 Sun 30-Mar-25 22:22:37

Sounds like a lovely day Uttb so pleased you enjoyed it
Good to hear Mr J is feeling a bit better Jax
Grandmabatty 💐
An enjoyable day here but thinking of everyone in the quiet corner and also those feeling sad today, a virtual hug to all ❤️

Redcar Mon 31-Mar-25 17:39:33

It’s very quiet in the kitchen today, I hope everyone is ok.
It’s been a lovely day here, but cooling down now.
I’ve had two walks today, so am feeling tired. My medication review went well, but the pharmacy didn’t have the tablets I need. They have been ordered and I hope to collect them on Wednesday.
The garden is getting quite dry now and I’ve been watering the plants in pots. Every year I say I’ll reduce the number of plots I have, but don’t seem to be able to do it.
I hope the soops are feeling better and that soop will soon be back to join us.
Have a peaceful evening everyone
.

Hi kitchen pals, it’s been a really lovely day up here in Inverness. I was at the eye clinic first thing for a check up, all was ok and the staff were very kind and helpful. Once the eye drops had worn off a bit I went out into the garden and spent the afternoon weeding and tidying, it’s good to see such a lot of new growth already. I even took off my coat and sat in the sunshine for a while. Plants in pots do take time looking after redcar but I’m sure they look lovely and definitely worth the effort
I hope Soop is feeling a bit better today and MrJ too Jax
Thinking of those in the quiet corner, especially grannmarie and SueD
Take care all

Well, I have just had a face to face with the hip consultant. An old school man, not one of the young doctors trained to speak to people. He had no interest in my symptoms, poo pooed my concerns about a lump which has appeared on my hip then did his best to tell me I should live with the pain and manage it, while admitting there was severe osteoarthritis and loss of cartilage. I stuck to my guns and I am now on the list. “It should be some time this year”. I came away still with unanswered questions. Hmph!!
