soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

Thank you baggs. Love to soop and a wish life looks brighter soon.

Tough times sued and grandmab. It sounds as if you will both have family challenges ahead. Look after yourselves, please.

Take care everyone.

‘Evening All’.

Thanks Baggs for the updates - very kind of you. Say hi to soop 👋 and say I hope she is better soon. She has considered her options carefully. I think (for what it’s worth) she’s made the right one all things considered.

I’m glad you have your daughter for support Grandmabatty during this sad time and to help with arrangements.

Our new washing machine arrived at 7pm. 😁 All fitted and I’ve put a small wash load in just now, to test it. It’s nice and quiet! Home tomorrow afternoon. ✈️ we’ve been so lucky with the weather this visit. 🤞for May

Thank you for your update on Soop, Baggs. I'm glad she has made her decision, hoping and praying that some non surgical treatment may improve her quality of life.

Dear Grandmabatty, I'm so sorry to read that your dear Mum has passed away. It's a blessing to sleep away peacefully. May she now rest in peace. Take good care of yourself, it's such a strange time to cope with. You were a devoted and dutiful daughter. I'm glad your lovely daughter and family are nearby to comfort you.🙏🕯

Thinking of SueD and family, such a sad time for everyone. Take care. 🙏🕯

Thinking of all Kitchen people with worries, illness or sorrow, especially those in the quiet corner. One day at a time. 🙏

baggs thank you for the update on soops I do hope the antibiotics work quickly and that she will soon be feeling better. I hope some means to help support the hernia can be found.
SueDonim I’m sorry to hear about your brother, and good luck with clearing your mother’s house - not a nice thing to have to do.
I didn’t do a lot today, went to the garden centre for a plant for a friend’s birthday, then delivered it to her.
Also did a machine load of washing and got it dry outside. It was lovely and sunny with a stiff North easterly breeze so it dried quickly.
Then I visited my friend with dementia, she was very quiet but I think she could hear me and her husband talking because she kept turning her head to look.
Covid jab in the morning to look forward to!

Have a peaceful evening everyone, night night.

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Apr-25 21:19:00

SueDonim perhaps your brother could shift his backside then, my brother was similar.
MrJ not improved, he’s very fed up, I feel guilty eating.
I went to watch Fin play football, a win at 4-1 and they won the league, it started getting cold as the sun dropped lower, proud Mum and Grandma. Sad MrJ couldn’t go, he’s followed him throughout the season, I was stand in.

Nice to see you Grannmarie. Hope you are doing OK.

Grannmarie Tue 01-Apr-25 23:10:43

Thank you, Kitty, I'm OK most of the time, lots to be done, it's good to be busy.
But choosing and preparing DH's ' going away clothes' was hard, and sad. A last labour of love.
Also, yesterday the Wee Boy wanted to video call his Papa. 😭
I'm thankful I've got good support from family, friends and neighbours.
TOYA, NNGB.

kittylester Wed 02-Apr-25 06:40:29

I can't imagine how hard it must have been to choose your beloved DH's clothes. I'm sure you will have done the right thing.

I'm glad you have support around you and you have collective Grans there too. flowers

I have no idea what’s been happening in the Kitchen as I have been in hospital since 9th March.

I don’t think I can be a regular visitor for a while.

Sending regards to the Soops xx

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Apr-25 09:46:36

Where do I start to say how sorry I am to read such sad news. I've not been able to post due to various things happening and keeping very busy over Mother's Day so I didn't have a repeat of last year's grief.
Granmarie... GrandmaBatty...Sue D...may all your loved ones rest in peace and the memories of the love you shared with them comfort you. Love never dies.

Blossoming and Soop ..get well soon. I'm glad Soop was able to see the consultant and then make her informed choice. Let's hope that the support promised for the hernia appears soon.

FGT... Lovely that you have had a wonderful time in your special place...memories to treasure.

Jax...I hope Mr J is improving each day. He must have been really poorly to miss watching Finn play.

Sending love to everyone else here in our haven of love and support.

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Apr-25 17:28:52

Good afternoon everyone. Thanks again for your kindness. I phoned the registrar this morning, but they hadn't got the death certificate from the doctor yet, so we're a bit stuck until that happens. I went to the undertaker with dd this afternoon and my brother turned up, trying to make decisions we hadn't discussed 😡. Then not helping with other stuff. He is a liability. Sadly we are joint executors, so I'll have to be in touch with him for a while. I'm having salad for dinner later and will bring in the washing soon. It's been a gorgeous day. I hope you are all well.

Just sending loving thoughts to all those on this gentle thread who are sad or suffering at the moment.
I will keep you all in my prayers tonight.

Totally forgot the 10yr old was here for a sleepover after school today, fortunately I always have something in the freezer that I know the GC will eat.

Homework was a stretch, but it’s all finished now.

A late hi from me to a kitchen that’s subdued thinking of those suffering loss, with love to them.
Also for those poorly, hoping for improvements soon.

Another sunny day, but I’m watching night time temperatures with seedlings in the greenhouse.
FGT should be back safely.
Hoping tomorrow is a gentle day for us all.

Thinking of you all, especially those with sorrow and sadness.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 02-Apr-25 22:30:55

Hello kitchen people.

There is so much sadness in the kitchen but good to hear the FGT2s are safely home.

We had a lovely afternoon at our nearby NT place. The gardens were looking beautiful and the house tip top. We had our first cream tea of the season. Delicious. A pot of tea each, two scones each, jam and clotted cream. We were stuffed. £11 for the lot.

Sleep 💤 tight.
