Good morning on another chilly one in Torbay, where the NE wind negates the effect of the sunshine.

Thinking of those going through sad times, especially Grandmabatty. It’s good you have your DD supporting you.

I hope to return to Wednesday Club today if my surgery pharmacist phone call appointment finishes in time. She’s ringing to check I’m coping with the medication changes since being in hospital.

Happy hump day, where possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire. My sleep pattern is all over the place again this week. Yesterday I spent more time in the garden sorting out the front rockery bed which entailed a lot of kneeling and stretching. The winter heathers are going over now but there are lots of plants coming into their own that will add colour soon. People often stop and say how lovely it looks in the spring and summer which makes it worthwhile putting the work in. This afternoon I am meeting a friend for coffee at a nearby garden centre which I am looking forward to.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Bristol.
Gbatty, I hope you are managing, it is wonderful that your DD is there to support you. Ash, I’m glad you are starting to feel a bit better. MD, hang on in there. FGT, you are sounding happier than for ages, may it carry on…
I sat on the little lawn yesterday afternoon. We have a table and chairs there, the only communal area! I was joined by various residents, including the newest who introduced herself.
Today, I’ve got FAB cafe for which I baked a marmalade crumble slice and some cranberry and white chocolate biscuits. In the afternoon, I have to have my phone seen o in Clifton, instead of going to a TG meeting.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Bellasnana Wed 02-Apr-25 05:45:30

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy and the high is forecast to be 19°C.

I’m just having my coffee before going over to the boys. They were full of energy yesterday and tired themselves out so I did get an hour to get my breath back while they napped.

They have nursery this afternoon and I have my monthly nail appointment.

Sending good wishes to all, especially those of you with sorrows and illness to bear.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, sunny, warm and windy today

I need to rest my right hand today, I overworked it as usual. I spent hours on my plot yesterday morning, met some more people there dug weeds and planted broad beans

I cannot knit today as the needles are like small matchsticks, nor should I spin, I could sew but that depends on the actual wind chill outside, if it feels chilly then I will machine sew.

I ordered a wax hand bath which will be delivered today. It is arriving today and will help my hand recover more quickly

Reading today and total relaxation for me, too windy for cycling which does not hurt my hand so I will include a walk into my morning instead.

Have a good day

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is due at 9 am, DH is off to the gym first thing and I have a pedicure booked for 9.30. But then the day is my own - I might just sit down.

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Wed 02-Apr-25 06:24:40

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Antibiotics were prescribed yesterday for my trying to close throat. I’m telling myself it’s easier today. I’m sure my afternoon pottering outside helped, it certainly lifted my spirits.

Have the best day you can everyone.

RosesandLilac Wed 02-Apr-25 06:27:54

Good morning, it’s a cold but clear-skied spot here in south Glos, only 4°.
It’s today that the BT man is coming, not yesterday, so I need to walk tiddler before he arrives between 8 and 10, DH will walk Annie. The new wotsit arrived yesterday for him to set up.
I have a pile of ironing to do and a bit more weeding in the back garden, it’s looking really nice at the moment, so many flowering spring bulbs.
Thinking of those with sadness or who are poorly 🌹

Blossoming Wed 02-Apr-25 06:36:51

Good morning from misty Lancashire. We are promised a sunny day once the mist clears.

I am watching the sunrise from my hospital bed, looking out over the Lancashire fells. I have been very poorly but much better now. I don’t know when I will be able to go home yet.

Kalu Wed 02-Apr-25 06:50:50

Good morning all. Another sunny day with a high of 17dg today in Glasgow.

This pleasant sunny weather has given me the impetus I needed to be more proactive. Just walking around the garden is a joy seeing everything coming back to life and planning what needs cut back or replaced. The sciatic pain has lessened slightly and I take whatever pain relief necessary to allow me to do more. Still waiting for results of the knee X-ray.
I have a parcel to collect from M &S at some point.

I am pleased to hear you have the support of your DD Grandmabatty. I would be lost without the support of my girls when I need it. Look after yourself.

Best wishes to all especially those coping with difficult times.

Kalu Wed 02-Apr-25 06:54:55

I do hope you are allowed home soon Blossoming 🤞💐

Greyduster Wed 02-Apr-25 06:55:09

Sar53 Wed 02-Apr-25 07:03:22

Good morning from another sunny day on the Essex coast with a very chilly wind blowing in off the North Sea.
My DGD came home from hospital late yesterday afternoon in a better state than the day before. We are hoping that she can return to school sometime this week.
I'm sorry to hear that you have been so unwell Blossoming, take care.
A trip to the bank this morning and a few bits of shopping to get. DH will drop me off and I will get the bus back.
Have a good day everyone and I hope the sun shines wherever you are xxx

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Apr-25 07:05:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° with a beautiful sky. Another fine day ahead. Blossoming I am sorry to hear that you are in hospital. I hope you get better soon. Thank you all again for your many kind words. I really appreciate it. My brother is pretty useless. He looked out birthday and marriage certificates as I asked but wouldn't phone anyone to let them know, doesn't want to register the death and might come to the undertaker. He's a liability!
Today I'll contact the registrar to register mum's death. The doctor sent the death certificate electronically late yesterday, I believe. Then this afternoon I will see the undertaker to organise the funeral. Dd is definitely coming with me. Mum made no plans but wanted buried, not cremated. I have chosen flowers for her and three pieces of music. She also wanted a really private funeral with immediate family only. Her younger brother, my uncle and his wife are flying back from Spain on Saturday evening, so I'll see them on Sunday. They were very close to mum. I have absolutely no doubt that, if my brother decides to go to the undertaker today, he will put a spoke in the wheels of any decisions I've made. Thank goodness my dd will be there to mediate.
In between times, I hope to get into the garden, particularly if it stays so fair. Dgs1 was quite sad that his GG had died. He asked his mum lots of questions. He thinks he will see her in the sky when we fly on holiday later this year.😂
Have a good day all.

Morning all from a sunny and bright S E Essex.

Oh dear Blossoming I hope you are on the mend amd back home soon, in the meantime enjoy your view and rest.

Safe journey FGT2

Your garden sounds beautiful Greyduster

The washing machine is whirring away, I am off to the mid morning, and then like Bellasnana I have a nail appointment.
Then a quick trip to M & S Foodhall for some early English Asparagus (tried yesterday to get some in local farm shop and the big Sainsbury’s but no luck)

Joe a good day 🙋‍♀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 02-Apr-25 07:09:09

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I peeked out of the window and my car is frozen!

Get well soon Blossoming.🌹

Our nearby NT place is reopening today after the winter break. We will pop in this afternoon, look at the house, wander round the gardens and have a cream tea!

For lunch we may go to the local pub in the village. We haven’t been for a while but they have been asking for support.

Have a good day. I think the FGT2s are flying back today, so safe journey. And MD, I do hope your GP can get their act together.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Apr-25 07:09:33

Sar53 good that your GD is home and on the mend, I hope she stays stable and is able to return to school.

Redcar Wed 02-Apr-25 07:11:06

Good morning everyone from a sunny and cold mid Essex. 5 degrees outside and the heating is on. Another sunny day is forecast with a strong easterly wind, so it won’t feel warm.
I have a Covid vaccination this morning and am seeing my consultant later for a check up on the hip that was replaced in November. I’m anxious about finding a parking space at the hospital! I may try a little gardening in between the appointments.

Ash I hope you get to Wednesday club today.
blossoming I’m sorry to hear that you’re in hospital and hope you’ll soon be able to return home. In the meantime, enjoy the view!

Have the best day possible folks.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 3°C. Blossoming, I got a shock, when I read your message this morning. I have a full on morning but will catch up with you later.

Such sadness on this thread yesterday, GMbatty and Sallyforth, you are in my prayers.

Yesterday started well, both sets of spectacles fixed and new ones picked up, special order made for the safe keys and a delicious fish lunch.
It went downhill after that. We stopped off at Morrisons on the way home and I began to feel unwell. I just wanted home, but DH is such a fouterer and kept faffing about, choosing beer!
I barely got in the door, when I was violently sick. I then fell asleep for ages. What a waste of a beautiful afternoon, I had planned to work in the garden.
I am thoroughly fed up with my poor health. This has become the norm, rather than having days of respite.

We have two school runs today and a drama club drop off. After dropping Dollie off, we are popping into DD's, which is just around the corner, to admire see her new bathroom. I phoned her to say that we were in the independent fruit shop and did she want anything. She was looking for blood oranges ( I thought she was attempting to make marmalade 😉), it was in fact for her gin! 🤣
Also, I have a funeral to attend and boxes and boxes of palms, candles, altar wine etc to check and unpack.I shall look for a friend to assist.
It is going to be a busy day!

Borrheid, it is the funeral of the mother of one of our former classmates, Diana, whose parents were Italian.

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I mush dash to make Dollie's Scotch pancakes, I am aiming for a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trip Advisor review. 😉

Good morning from N. Bucks where at we should get sunshine as the day goes on.
DH is off to golf and has just delivered a cuppa to me. I’ll enjoy that and then get going.
Two kitchen cupboards to sort out today and an outing to arrange for our WI.
Lunch in the garden hopefully and then craft club this afternoon. I can relax there as someone else is leading the project today.
WI this evening , all about cheese, hopefully some samples too.
Wishing all a good day .

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a sunny still but very cold looking morning in North Yorkshire.

I am feeling very weary but pleased and grateful to be getting back to a life. Yesterday there was plenty needing to be done but was in such a bad way physically that I knew I couldnt do much . So rather than sit here being frustrated I awarded myself a day off, stuck some bits in the car and joy of joy went back up to Swaledale. It felt so lovely to be able to drive through the countryside to all the places I love.

So went up through wensleydale but on the quieter route through Askrigg, stopping at the little parking place I know where you are by the clear beck with a bridge over it. Stood on the bridge watching and listening to the water and hearing the birds.

Then on over the buttertubs and up to my special place. Got the binoculars out and managed a little walk stopping to look around. Wonderful, as it had been so long since I was able to get there and had wondered at times if I ever would get back.

So today meeting a friend for coffee at a near by garden centre, but will be very strong and not buy any plants. It is too cold to plant anything out and havent got a greenhouse or cold frame here so nowhere to keep them safe. Also I need to get someone to dig out the buddleia that they chopped down and do a bit of planning for flowers for the borders. We are very late here not a sign of any leaves on the tree at the back yet, and have daffodils and some lovely magnolias out in the town, but dont know if they will have been frosted last night,

Then this afternoon need to catch up with some housework and a bit of ironing and then off to the whist drive tonight. What an exciting life I lead!! I am carefully ignoring all the news at the moment. I just want to enjoy remembering yesterday and how much the day lifted my spirits.

Wishing you all a day that goes well
