Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Plans for the day I am tempted to get the bus to Bicester ,as there is a restaurant near shops which has a good name for fried breakfasts , tempted to try ,as I feel I need to line my stomach with fatty food it may improve my health.
Health wise OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol.
Yesterday wasn’t as warm as I had expected due to the cold wind. I did sit outside for a bit but only read my book. No one joined me for a chat.
Spanish was good, although I don’t find some of the videos we are shown funny. Perhaps I don’t understand the slang or perhaps my sense of humour is different…
Just church coffee this morning.
May you have a peasant weekend free of pain or sorrow. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Sat 05-Apr-25 05:47:56

Good morning from a fine, dry Torbay but with a NE wind keeping the temperatures down.

Mick: I was told by a medical professional on a cardiac ward that an occasional fried breakfast was acceptable as long as it wasn’t too frequent so I hope you enjoy yours.

I hope those in pain finds some relief today and Gingster’s DH is as comfortable as possible.

Wishing you a good weekend. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from north Wales where another glorious day beckons 🌞.

Today Mr PG will continue the beach hut 🎨 painting-by-numbers…(he reminds me constantly that he has O Level Art and this job is beneath him!). I simply cater 🥪☕️ and compliment 👏as necessary and curb my impatience when he downs tools at lunchtime and says that’s it for the day!

I’m mindful that all work and no play makes for a dull husband so we’ll hop on a bus to Conwy later for a 🍷and nibbles in the secret garden then home to admire his handiwork (again)😇

Thoughts are with Gingster, FGT, Jax and others with their loved ones health woes - whether ongoing (or intermittent as Mr PG) it’s a cross that can seem too heavy at times - look after yourselves ladies x

A lovely weekend for all please 🙏

cornergran Sat 05-Apr-25 06:11:02

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny, windy weekend is forecast for our corner of Somerset.

A quiet one ahead, laundry and a car wash today, even less tomorrow. Suspect the conservatory will have good use. It’s Mr C”s favourite spot, he’ll need some catch up time after driving us home yesterday as I couldn't do my usual lions share.

My thoughts are with all under pressure along with a hope that Saturday is kind to us all

Bellasnana Sat 05-Apr-25 06:25:30

Good morning from Malta where it’s currently cloudy but expected to reach 19°C later.

I have slept in this morning. A week of running after two little toddlers certainly wears me out! I love it though and dread September when they will start at the school where their mum teaches, so I shall enjoy it all while I can, even the tiredness.

This morning I have a doctor’s appointment just to get a prescription, then I’m meeting a friend for coffee.

Usual weekend chores will be fitted in somewhere but I have no rigid routine,🤭

Wishing a good day to all. Those of you who are facing tough times are in my thoughts.☀️

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a still, dry grey but lightening morning in North Yorkshire.

Making the best of a bad job. In less pain than yesterday, which was pretty much a write off when it came to doing anything. However wont be dancing around either, so had thought about going to see a garden today. As I woke up with horrible cramp and no chance of getting back to sleep, am now up washed dressed and definitely going to play hookey and go off to something. Probably get back for the Grand National to see if I am making my fortune with my £1 e/w bet!!

So my aim now to get my picnic box ready and sort the car out into summer mode. That is my positive hopes where I put spare shorts and sunglasses and swimming costume etc etc in the car so ready for whatever the day brings. Dont think I am likely to need much of that today, but good to put the folding chair and the binoculars in at the ready. Even that is a cheering thought. (However common sense says put umbrella and mac and spare jumper in as well!) It will also give the car a bit of a run out. Have done so little lately and that has been mostly short runs round here. So I will make today a winner anyway. If the weather is good, will stay longer at the garden and watch the GN on the later news, but if it turns cold or I am struggling to get round will be back in time..

My yellow peril is too big and heavy to go in the car, and I cant lift heavy things, but read about a new very light chair that will go on trains and planes etc. Decided to go and have a look and think about saving up for one etc. Well whose idea of light it was I dont know but probably an all in wrestler!! Went in the shop and enquired and the man was eager to show me what had just come in etc. Huh! I couldnt even have managed to lift it into the boot, so that plan went out of the window straight away. I think I shall have to wait for some of the technology from the space buggys on the moon comes to our assistance!

Well Mick enjoy your treat breakfas and hope you meet some friends too. Hope all GN's are able to have a good day and enjoy a time out to see the flowers and be cheered by the thought of good weather to come.

Good morning all from a chilly and grey North Leicestershire. Yesterday began the same but ended very sunny with a chilly breeze.

Today we are going to go to Derby to deliver some things to DD1 and then DH's team are on the TV.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I have been laid up the last few days with a coldy/flu thing but emerging out the other side but oddly something is biting me. Found 7 bites on left lower leg Wednesday night which have been red sore and itchy and woken with one on right ankle this morning. What is it? I didn’t go outside yesterday. My aim today is to track down the mystery biter or biters …

Hope everyone has a good Saturday

Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast.

We will go into town this morning and have coffee in the square before collecting DGD from sewing club. She is coming back here for a sleepover.

Hope Gingster’s husband is recovering well and that Grandmabatty was successful with the paperwork yesterday and is feeling better today.

Have a good day everyone🌻🦩

Good morning all. Sunshine predicted again for Glasgow today. If only the high gusts of 27mph would drop, it would be a warmer pleasant day.

I have been sneezing and feeling gluggy since yesterday plus sleeping more instead of enjoying this sunny weather. Not the best company today I will have a day of rest living on honey and lemon and paracetamol. No energy and no appetite. Hey ho.

Hoping your DH is more comfortable today Gingster and you are looking after yourself too. (((Hugs))).

Best wishes to all especially those of you with continued worries and health issues.

Good Mirning from Durham.

EkwaNimitee Sat 05-Apr-25 07:27:58

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but chilly Carlisle
I was sowing seeds in my open garage yesterday afternoon, not a pleasant experience as the stiff, very chilly east wind was blowing straight in. My windowsills are now loaded with pots and trays for a few weeks. My dahlia tubers are coming on nicely. This is the possibly the last time for dahlias as I have been having them decimated by slugs every year since I've been here, in spite of my best efforts at slug murder.
I'm off into town later for my covid jab, hoping it's Pfizer and not Moderna which will probably lay me up for a day or two. I'm also hoping to collect a prescription though I've not been notified it's ready. They usually wait till I've returned home before they do that! I've also got a bag of heavy books for the charity shop, I see one is dated, by me, 1989, and barely looked at since, nor likely to be in the future.

I'd like to get into the garden later, the back is relatively sheltered from the easterly. Apart from that, I shall continue the book cull and maybe start one from the growing pile of unread new ones. I cannot come out of a bookshop without a book or a garden centre without a plant. The garden is full and so are my bookshelves!

I hope everyone with troubles or unwellness has a better day, best wishes!

Greyduster Sat 05-Apr-25 07:29:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it looks sort of gloomy this morning, but we are promised sun later. I spent an afternoon clearing away last year’s dead foliage and weeds in the top flower bed. The beginnings of this year’s growth looks strong and healthy, which is encouraging. The gardener is coming this morning to tackle both lawns and then it will look a whole lot tidier. When he’s gone I shall do a small shop and then go for a walk. I heard yesterday that a good friend had died suddenly and I’m finding it difficult to come to terms with at the moment.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everybody from sunny Lancashire. I am still in hospital, nothing much will happen today but the Physio with the power to release me is going to try and arrange my home visit for tomorrow. Have a good weekend everyone 🌹

Georgesgran Sat 05-Apr-25 07:32:28

AND it’s grey and cool, but hoping for better later.
No plans for today, but must catch up on some housework and get the airing cupboard refilled after the leak.
Roofer came yesterday to price a job, way more than I thought - he must be using gold bars! I fear it’s one of those jobs no-one wants to do, so silly prices given.

Hope Gingster’s DH is making some recovery.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from s somerset, it is already sunny here

I also slept late this morning with no fixed plans for anything, shame about the cool wind or I would go to Wells or Glastonbury on the bus but don`t want to get dressed up in a coat for a browse. It is already too windy for a cycle ride here

I admit to sleeping very well lately, very much going with my circadian rhythm and stopping all screens by 9 and I am dreaming, last night I was helping to fix furniture for an antiques auction

Today, sitting in the sun indoors, with more Mouche knitting and I am down to his legs at last, tending my plants, all that sort of quiet contemplative stuff

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Sat 05-Apr-25 07:36:08

Good morning from a bright-skied hillside in south Glos, another lovely sunny day ahead!
I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday’s art group, meeting new friends and chatting.
In the afternoon we took the dogs on a longer walk, mostly in the shade of the trees along bridleways. The hedges and trees are greening up and the wild garlic is coming into flower with the bluebells. There are wee lambs in some of the fields, so delightfully gangly and playful; I love watching them gambolling around.
Today it’s the usual dog walking etc, nothing much planned except enjoying the garden and sunshine.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

brook2704 Sat 05-Apr-25 07:42:28

Good morning everfrom Inverness where we’ve a lovely blue sky again, hopefully the cool wind will have lessened a bit
Enjoy Conwy pants I remember it as a lovely place but absolutely ages since I’ve been there
Yesterday ended up being much busier than planned so I’m looking forward to a more relaxing weekend with DH. During the week we often spend our days apart doing different things so it’s nice to catch up at the weekend. We’ve just changed our car to an electric one and we’re novices at the public charge points etc. It’s definitely a learning curve for us getting used to everything!
Ouch - hope you identify the culprit GrannyIvy, if you’ve had a bedroom window open something could have come in and biting you whilst you sleep?
Gingster hoping your DH is improving
Blossoming thinking of you and hope you get your home visit
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Sat 05-Apr-25 07:45:57

Good morning everyone from sunny mid Essex. It’s a bit cooler this morning. Yesterday was beautiful, the wind was warmer and it was pleasant sitting in the garden. I had a longer walk in the morning using the walking sticks, but I was tired afterwards, my legs aren’t used to walking these days. Finished the heap of ironing and put everything away.
Then I resumed trying to clear the garage of some of the old stuff that was put in there “in case it comes in handy”. The pile of things for the tip is growing. I’ll continue with that today, the garden is now too dry for me to do any weeding.
kalu I hope you feel better today. I hope all those in pain feel a little better today.
Have a good Saturday everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 05-Apr-25 07:47:11

Morning from a sunny, but cooler S Hants, I heard the wind overnight.
MrJ continues to improve, thank you pantglas when he ventures to the pub I’ll know he’s 100% 🙂
Yesterday I washed one lot of bedding, more today, parsnip seeds germinating on a window sill (I hope) and seedlings galore in the greenhouse.
I’ll go and buy my paper in a minute, that’ll keep me quiet for a while.
Thinking of gingster I hope there has been positive news

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to visit a local garden centre this morning, a few plants needed for the front garden. It should be a lovely drive
Yesterday’s deaf club meeting was very well attended, we had a visit from two people from the Citizens Advice Bureau, explaining the benefits we might be able to get
Hoping all is well with Gingsters husband and good wishes to all

whywhywhy Sat 05-Apr-25 07:53:22

Good morning from a dry and cooler midlands. Pesky headaches will not go away so its back to the drs next week. A day of doing not much. Hugs to you all.

Liberty Sat 05-Apr-25 08:01:11

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk. We had a lovely walk on the beach at Dunwich yesterday where,at 10.30am there were only 4 other people. The schools finished yesterday for the Easter holidays so I imagine for the next 2+ weeks it will be much busier.

The cafe on the beach is well known both locally and further afield for its fish and chips so they will ne very busy.

A quieter day today at home and the summerhouse will be our base for the afternoon.

Thinking of Gingster and hoping that the news from the hospital for her DH’s recovery was encouraging.

glammagran Sat 05-Apr-25 08:01:49

Good morning everyone. It’s still rather windy here.

We had a visit from DD2 and DGS2 yesterday. I laughed when told that most boys at the farm nursery had asked their parents to go in wearing shorts on Tuesday despite the bitter wind as they play outside most of the time. I doubt if he even noticed the cold. 🥶

Today I will make a more concerted effort to begin on assembling what we will take on our upcoming cruise. I don’t get involved in DH’s packing but make the odd suggestion. I do remember flying somewhere on holiday once and counting 25 pairs of pants i.e. all he possessed for a 14 night holiday. 🤔

I hope that Gingster and her DH have good news after a scan following his sudden illness. Have a good Saturday.
