Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Up to my usual routine of getting the bus to Bicester , for a hour or so do a shop and speak to those I know.
My Health is OK .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a rather grey frosty morning in North Yorkshire.

I am having a 'POSH' day today. Firstly , am having a two outfit day, as the change in the weather means that now have on thickish trousers and warm cardigan, with my thin linen trousers and cotton top awaiting the improvement in weather by hoped for sunshine later!! Then I am going to be a lady who lunches today (but wont be wearing a hat!)

I have a friend who has been so good to me over these past weeks , taking me to the hospital, helping me sort things, cheering me up on bad days and generally being there for me, when she has a family and a job and is a very busy person, a lot younger than me of course but that lovely thing when you are friends and age does not matter. So I asked her to lunch and today is the day. We are going to an italian restaurant who I went to quite a lot when stuck in the hotel. They do lovely fish and so it will be risotto with fish for me and whatever she would like. So today is going to be going backwards. I shall do small jobs and some paperwork and then get ready to meet her. Then when I get back , if the weather is decent, I am determined to try and at least get a few weeds and a clump of grass out of the border . So it will be change into scruff and at least get my hands dirty. Then tonight give my brain some exercise at the games night in the local pub.

Bellasnana How lovely to have the birthday to look forward to tomorrow. It is often hard work for you but you share in their lives and the pleasures too. A granny who is so much part of their lives. Hope you all have a happy day .

grandMattie, Poor you, that was a horrible time, and you cant win can you? If you walk away and leave it you only have to do it again. I hope that you are feeling a bit better now and can put your frustration and annoyance into dealing with your very poor , so called management , team. I suggest that you take a tape recorder and prominently display it and put it on. If they ask for it to be switched off, say that you need a recording of the total procedures of the meeting, to make sure that any promises are carried out!!
Grandmabatty It is good that you have got the arrangements for the funeral sorted and I am sure it is comforting to have the children with you at the moment. I hope that knowing you have followed your mums wishes will bring you peace and calm too.

Wishing everyone a good day and that the sun comes out for us all. Just got the wonder of Bach on the radio so shall make my coffee and begin my lazy morning.

Good morning all. It's a grey start on the Angus coast today but I expect the clouds will clear soon. I have tai chi in a little while and then a Tesco shop. What an annoying time you had at yours grandmattie! I hope your coffee morning with management is productive.
Fancy your little twins being 3 years old tomorrow*Bella*! Are they having a party? I bet they're nearly as excited as you are!😉

Good Morning from Durham. It’s another cold start, but warming up and plenty of sun later.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 10.30 (must wash hair first) then as DD2 is due back from Malaga, I’ll take Little Dog back after he’s been to his groomer.
Hopefully, while I’m out the scaffolding will go up around the house - roof work starts tomorrow!

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is only 2°C, but very sunny.

So pleased to see Blossoming home! Hoping you are improving, Susan and also Mr Gingster.
GMB, that's another hurdle over, you have not let your mother down.
FGT, it took me three weeks to get over a bout of norovirus, due to my compromised immune system. Your poor DH will probably be the same.

Thank you all for the kind words, I left yet another message on Friday for my GP, who told me to let him know if my mouth was still troublesome. That is three he has ignored. I think he hopes I will just go away and die.
I am going to have to make an appointment with another GP. I fear the problem is that my GP does not know what to do with me and the hospital is advising I speak to my GP.!
My main concern is the unhealed, raw sun damage on my neck and my wish for a referral.

GM, I suspect Tesco are trying to dissuade people from using cash, hence the lack of machines.
I usually have a million items in my trolley mainly DH's beer! 😉
I would hate to be a checkout assistant, they get paid a pittance and have to deal with people like me, who are extremely slow and clumsy.

I must get up, although I would rather laze in bed, high pain levels and Tin Man joints mean I am struggling to move. Grrrr.
Our alarm has been playing up, so an engineer is coming this morning. DH has been accusing me of not putting it on, when I have!!!

After Sainsbury's for essentials, the garden beckons, re-arranging it, is taking forever. Trees dying, storm damage and everything moved and in the wrong place, to accommodate the scaffolding, means it is basically a mess.
I can only do a little at a time, then I need to sit down.DH has promised to take me for compost, after the alarm is sorted.
I will see what else I can pick up, because I have a unwilling lackey.🤣

I wish you all as pleasant a day as possible.

grandMattie Tue 08-Apr-25 08:26:20

MD, absolutely everyone is determined not to use cash, but I shall stick to my guns as long as possible, if only, as I repeat ad nauseam “what is the poor Tooth Fairy to do without cash?”

Morning from South Lanarkshire another cool but beautiful morning, so lovely to wake up to.

brook, good to hear that your DD’s house sale is proceeding nicely, after her last disappointment I have been hoping all was well.

Quite a few domestic niggles settled yesterday including finding a voucher for Morrisons that I knew I had put ‘somewhere safe’ but couldn’t remember. I got it through a charity and had promised to pass it onto a social worker who supports young people leaving care so a big ‘whew’ then.

Post school childminding day today although the school holidays have started but I’ll continue helping for the few hours that include providing their evening meal and activities, as they say, every little helps🙂.

I had hoped to catch up with DGD1 on my way home tomorrow but between studying for her exams and helping with lambing because a helper is temporarily unavailable she has had to pull out.

Glad things seem to be getting organised Grandmabatty and
I hope for a good day for everyone facing challenges just now

Taichinan Tue 08-Apr-25 08:30:07

Sorry, a bit of fumble fingers there - I didn't mean to press post!
I hope all those feeling not so good just now begin to feel better and a good day is had by all.

Gingster Tue 08-Apr-25 08:31:14

Good morning all and as the Essex Gels have said ‘it’s frosty but sunny here.

We had rehab and physio visit yesterday for the start of DH’s therapy. Brilliant ladies with lots of time to spend with him.
Occupation therapist and speech therapist due soon. NHS 🌟.

My only worry is getting him and and downstairs. I’ll give him a shower today.

We are supposed to be at our Suffolk bolthole this week with both sons coming at the weekend for their ‘working weekend’.
My lovely neighbour is keeping an eye out. DS2 and family might go up to see all is well. I worry that we can’t get there !

Love and get well wishes to all poorlies, worried and anxious grans.❤️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s 2°C and will be 18°C later. We are staying home but I’m pleased to report that Himself seems to be on the right side now (🤞) of his nasty stomach bug. 5th day. He brewed up, good sign and was singing while the kettle boiled - another good sign!

I plan to sit out on my verandah in vest & shorts (good job we are 2 floors up and I won’t frighten the horses!) put on some Factor50 and read my kindle with a lighter heart today. The pic is from my verandah yesterday in the sunshine of our busy town centre. I do love living here. It’s a tiny apartment but that has its compensations … #lazygran.

Life is SO good it’s only when health worries nudge us that we suddenly remember how very precious it is. Carpe Diem indeed grandmattie! 😁

GrannyIvy Tue 08-Apr-25 08:53:11

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I’m being lazy in bed reading all the Good mornings but really must get up now as our friends are due at 10 ish and we are off cycling on our e bikes with a lunch somewhere on route.
Yesterday we had the little ones all day and they loved doing their Easter craft bits and pieces. I set up a big table in the conservatory and they painted and glued things and made lots of mess amongst eating non stop all day. I was tired but happy when they went and DD2 sent a message of thanks in the evening saying what a lovely day they had. Precious times.

Hoping everyone has a good day today and thinking of those struggling that today will be an easier day 🌺

ginny Tue 08-Apr-25 08:57:43

Good morning.
Another sunny day promised here in N. Bucks. It will be very disappointing when this lovely spring weather decides to stop.
This morning I’ll be making a pork and apricot tagine to put in the freezer, ready for guests next Monday
Out to lunch with 3 friends and a visit to Son in Law who is on his own this week. He is perfectly capable but is still on crutches with a big boot after an op a few weeks ago. I’ve promised him some soup and one of his favourite cakes.

Wishing all a good day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cold and dull. I left my car at the garage for its MOT and service and walked home via the litter- filled park. Do I really want to live in this town?

A chiropractor appointment soon and I've invited for coffee both the woman whose ancestors lived in this house plus the man who wants to buy it!
I think I shall light a fire. One Australian helper has made cookies and they plan a cycle ride to keep out of the way 😅🤣

Grandmabatty you are doing so well. It's not an easy thing.

Oh Marydoll I wish you well again.

Happy birthday to your twins Bellasnanna

Sorry you had such a rotten time in Tesco gMattie.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

hollysteers Tue 08-Apr-25 09:21:43

Good morning all from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Really enjoyed the sun yesterday in my egg chair in the garden.
I had some mending and a good book. The cat joined me, rolling about in the sun.
It was a lazy day, but I still couldn’t summon the energy to sing in the folk club in the evening. I think the prolonged sun was a shock to the system…

Off to music club this afternoon so need to warm up and choose my songs.
Hope all goes well Blossoming, birthday greetings to Bellas twins and thoughts to all🌺

GrannySomerset Tue 08-Apr-25 09:54:03

Bedding in the machine and now searching for what else would benefit from drying outside while the weather is so lovely - got to make the most of it. Blood test later but nothing else planned so an easy day. Wonderful Cleaner is here making everything spruce so by this evening the house will be sparkling, the bed changed and I shall feel temporarily on top of life.

Good Morning, still enjoying the sun in Co Armagh
The wind died down yesterday so I got to sit outside on the patio , my eldest Grandson visited and entertained his admiring old folk with tales of his doings
I am his last grandparent , we remembered times with fondness
Enjoy the brightness
