Charles & Camilla flew out to Rome on a planned visit so they missed one another by mere hours. Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. He will have known of their itinerary. There are so few occasions when he does fly over now from Montecito. An opportunity lost, especially with his father’s health I think.

He regrets a decision made in 2020 that affects his every single day, apparently.

Wasn't that his decision?

I used to think Que Sera Sera about the pair of them; whatever, have a good life etc.
But now he is just making me very angry. Please go back to the States and stay out of the limelight, just as you wanted.

Watching the interview tonight, he looks like a man for whom the penny has finally dropped, that he's massively overplayed his hand. He might now want a reconciliation with his family but it's only dawned on him today that his family definitely don't want any reconciliation with him. Home must look a long, long way away tonight. So many parallels with Edward and Wallace.

Harry’s on another winge. Mentions that he & his family cannot come to UK, because he won’t get security while here.
If he has his own security in USA, he could bring them with him & family. All sorted, or is there a reason he cannot bring them to UK

Not if they are armed. I think that is the point.

Another very public whine from Hopeless Harry.

We never got this hand-wringing "Poor Me" rubbish from his late grandmother.

M0nica Sat 03-May-25 06:25:27

I think the extent that everyone is thoroughly fed up with Hopeless Harry is illustrated by the failure of anyone to start a separate thread on GN to discuss this latest interview of his.

ll we did is revive a the last thread on him and continue it.

Anniebach Sat 03-May-25 06:59:41

Starting a thread brings accusations of hating, of ‘a hate fest’ etc

eazybee Sat 03-May-25 07:37:33

what a waste of the person he could have been.

Actually, no. I don't think he ever had much character, a distinct lack of moral fibre, an inability to stick at anything. Diana and Meghan just compounded it.

M0nica Sat 03-May-25 07:43:22

He should have stayed in the arrmy. He seemed happy and in his element there and could have had a modestly successful career.

I do not know whether the decision that he should come out of the army was his decision or one made by family strategists, but it was a mistake.

I think reconciliation with Harry's family, especially his brother, wouldn't work for one simple reason.
During the past couple of years William has endeavoured to take the Royal Family in a different direction, bridging the gap between the royals and real life people. Both he, and Charles have shown a new humility, (although of course they can never be totally like the rest of us). Harry and his wife, however, just want to flaunt themselves everywhere, make as much money as they can, go about upsetting people and selfishly focusing everything on themselves. The two brothers have drifted apart both emotionally and in their work ethic. I can't see William letting Harry back in to destroy this.
It's a very sad situation, but too late.

From what I’ve heard Edward didn't sell a scurrilous story to the press saying how badly he thought he was being treated by his family, he abdicated the crown for his love Wallace. Constitutionally far more important in those days, times move on, Charles married a divorcee

While Harry stays together with Meghan I don’t see a way back for him, too much damage has been done

Sparklefizz Sat 03-May-25 08:05:03

I was annoyed with the BBC for giving Harry so much air time yesterday when here in the UK there was a great deal going on politically which was much more important.

Cambsnan Sat 03-May-25 08:05:29

He is a sad damaged little boy. A good father would reach out to comfort him.

Seriously?

He is not a little boy, for goodness sake!

He is a 40 year old man!

As mentioned upthread, H&M are slowly beginning to realise that in the fullness of time, (and Charles’ cancer diagnosis has brought this home to them), there will be no reconciliation with King William, as he will be then.

They are backtracking furiously whilst Charles is still here, as it will be way too late in the future.

Calendargirl Sat 03-May-25 08:30:20

Should have said, the way he whinges on though, he could be Archie’s age (6 approaching 7).

Anniebach Sat 03-May-25 08:34:02

All because his brother had a larger bedroom ?

BlueBelle Sat 03-May-25 08:37:00

I feel sorry for Harry he’s damned if he does damned if he doesn’t and no one knows what goes on within a family or
who s right and who s wrong as we all well know well from the estrangement threads on here
I hope he and Meghan and the children can make a good life for themselves away from all the vitriol and if Eugene is in cahoots with the awful Piers Morgan after the things he’s said about Meghan I don’t blame Harry for turning away

Smileless2012 Sat 03-May-25 08:37:31

A good son wouldn't have done what Harry's done Cambsnan and he was an adult when he made the choices he's made, not a little boy.

BlueBelle Sat 03-May-25 08:42:18

Anniebach I don’t think so 🤣
The spare always has a tough time look how Margaret went off the rails lots of partying drinking smoking and plenty of young sexual partners… everyone forgotten that !
I bet Prince Louis might well be the same he has a bold spirit in him seems up for a lot of mischief while the older brother is the staid sensible one and poor girl in the middle …well she’s just a girl !!!

woodenspoon Sat 03-May-25 08:42:36

He’s not a little boy. Had he been made to grow up when he was younger and accept responsibility for the choices he makes then he wouldn’t still be having temper tantrums when he’s told no. He’s pathetic but also dangerous.

Smileless2012 Sat 03-May-25 08:43:33

We know about the Oprah 'interview' and we know about the book BlueBelle and as for Eugene (being in) cahoots with the awful Piers Morgan, if that's the reason for them breaking contact with her, that is simply another example of H & M wanting everything to be about them.

What evidence is there that she's secretly colluding or conspiring with Piers about H & M? It isn't all about them, as much as they want to think it is.

When in the army there was the pool party in Las Vegas

merlotgran Sat 03-May-25 08:56:20

I wonder if Meghan knew just how much resentment Harry was brewing when she married him? She clearly encouraged him to open up about his feelings which suited their image at the time but Pandora’s box springs to mind.

American is tiring of them. She has (allegedly) said she never wants to set foot in the UK again and now Harry has backed them even further into the corner they’ve created.

But of course it’s everyone else’s fault. 🤔

Anniebach Sat 03-May-25 09:07:02

George 6 was the spare for 41 years , Louis may be like Edward
