She’s just good for him,” says one friend now, repeating the refrain of many. “She brightens his life, doesn’t she?

“They make each other laugh. And thank God for that – they’ve needed it recently.”

Congratulations to them both today!
The pic was taken yesterday, in Rome.

Adulterers?!! Oh for goodness sake, surely no one is still harking on about that old chesnut? They are a lovely couple, clearly make each other happy, and who would deny anyone happiness? Happy Anniversary and many more of them.

King Charles of Great Britain and Queen consort Camilla celebrate 20 years of marriage without adultery today.

Don't be so grumpy, Nanato.

I’m happy to have Charles as king, because he was born to it, but Camilla is no more queen than I am. Nothing to do with adultery (old-fashioned word!) - she just doesn’t seem regal. Catherine seems to me more like a queen than she does.

Jaxjacky Wed 09-Apr-25 15:56:00

Regal is an old fashioned word to me, Queen Camilla behaves in a perfectly dignified manner

BlueBelle Wed 09-Apr-25 16:01:13

Oh dear what a judgement Grandma70. She’s much more regal than Andrew who was born into the Royals !!!
What do you want her to do walk with a rod down her back and just give a regal wave now and then !!!

I like Camilla. She does good work to encourage reading, also highlighting domestic violence. She’s worked quietly to build her reputation and nobody can deny they seem devoted to each other.

👏👏👏

Nanato3 Not important to me, or to them.

Certainly more regal than Andrew! Perhaps I’m subconsciously comparing her with the late great Elizabeth.

I just don’t take to her. Ignore me - it’s a purely personal, irrational opinion.

Camilla fits her role perfectly, as does Catherine. She is clearly devoted to the King, as he is to her, to the well being of the RF and this country. She has been extremely good for our rather anxious King, no disrespect to him, I am a royalist, she is also down to earth, sensible, hard working, and knows what. All the late Queens' children and grandchildren have married commoners and the RF is the better for it.

My spelling went a bit haywire! Congratulations to their majesties, they seem very happy together.

I did not like the way the young Diana was treated by people higher up than Charles, I think they were both put in an untenable situation, but that’s in the past and he’s now with who he should have been all all along.

Jaberwok Wed 09-Apr-25 16:20:45

....and knows whats what..... (This wretched iPad has a mind of its own!!!!)

Jaberwok Wed 09-Apr-25 16:29:01

That first marriage was doomed from day one, and a tragedy for both of them. But it was a long time ago now, and had she lived Diana would have hopefully found happiness elsewhere as has the King. My grown up grandchildren don't really know who she was! Considering how popular she was I find that quite sad.

Netherbyg84 Wed 09-Apr-25 16:55:53

The pain caused by this couple's adulterous behaviour - even if it is a long time ago - is still felt by William and Harry. I get it that they should have been allowed to marry before Diana came along but, both being morally weak, continued their affair, causing great distress to the young Princess.

Anniebach Wed 09-Apr-25 17:14:16

Perhaps the children of the men Diana had affairs with think of her

BlueBelle Wed 09-Apr-25 17:24:16

Anniebach you took the words out of my mouth
Diane was no more a saint than Charles they were pushed into marriage and to the wrong people who s to know how we would have acted in that position
I m not a royalist but I have no problem with them at all and I think Camilla is very very good for Charles and they seem very content and happy …they fit
Good luck to both of them She’s nice and down to earth
