Good morning from Bristol. Another in different night. Grr.
DGD is 15, and I’m 77! We had a lovely, if exhausting, afternoon together. She can be so incredibly funny and entertaining. We met on the bus and got to the mall. It’s very big, noisy and wearing. She wanted to shop but found nothing, I got a few bits from Lakeland and Boots, then went for our early afternoon tea. She was beside herself with excitement, thanking me for asking her as my +1.
As we finished a very pleasant tea and took a doggy bag of cakes back with us, we were met by DD and Iris. Shoe shopping for Iris is doubly problematic as she has two very different sized feet. Very expensive too.
Once back at theirs, we played rummukub while DD made dinner, after which presents were exchanged; they are spending the day at Stratford and seeing “Much Ado” tonight.
Exhausted , I asked to be taken home after dinner as I was so tired. I’d sent selfies, etc., to DGS (the donor of the tea). He rarely replies to anything, so I was very taken aback when we had a nice little chat by text. He’s on a Mediterranean cruise with a friend for the next fortnight.
Today will be busy-ish, some baking, laundry, then I’m making dinner for our Lent prayer group all three of us. The session will take place here.
Yesterday, we were talking about the use of nasturtiums in salads, here is a photo of a salad I made with only our own greenery when I lived in Sandwich.
Enjoy your cruises, enjoy your families. May the day bring peace and contentment. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
