Sometimes it’s the little things

I thought I had ruined a nearly new brushed cotton shirt when I ironed it (first time washed) without checking the sole plate of the iron. Black tarry marks across the corner and along the edge of the collar(ironed first)
I tried washing it again without success but this morning having hung it out overnight and while it was still damp I decided to attack the tarry residue with first of all my thumbnail, then a table knife, then (when it seemed to be working) with a potato peeler and finally a nutmeg grater. !!!
Good thing it’s sturdy material but it has worked. The shirt will be wearable and I have that feeling of achievement- job done!
As I said, sometimes it’s the little things.
Now for the coffee stain on the front of my cream (I know) jumper…….

I have been looking somewhat urgently for a particular exterior wood paint. Been everywhere, coukdnt find, changed colour, bought it but needed returning as it was wrong, looked online, travelled to the next county seeking it. No luck.
I have been everywhere man 🎶 but just been back to the first place I tried and they have clearly had a delivery because I found a tin of the paint I was initially looking for, , just waiting on the shelf, a tiny pot, £32! Paint prices have rocketed.

Good heavens, Maw! What on earth have you been doing with your iron?😨

Me, I love a stain to tackle. DD spilled some greasy sauce on her new jeans and I set to with my trusty stain remover. It is a small pleasure to see that stain disappear. Now for the white tablecloth after a family meal of spag bol.

I was so pleased with my expensive (for me) trainers. Pale blue suede. Very nice. Naturally, I dripped sloppy tuna mayonnaise sandwich filling right on to the front of one with resultant black grease stain. Disaster.
Luckily DH really like such a challenge and set to with some special chemical he brought home from the workshop. Eureka! It worked. Goodness knows what could penetrate suede and remove grease. However, it worked and my lovely shoes look good as new. A little thing but it meant a lot that he'd noticed and taken trouble.

If only there were something to remove the bleach I managed to splash on a nice new linen tunic.
Cleaning bathrooms is dangerous, I tell you!
