DD3's 12 and 13 year old were comparing who had the biggest bum (as in the bigger the better)

DD showed them a picture of Kate Moss saying 'This model was popular years ago - if fact Pa (DH) fancied her'

Stunned silence.

DD3, 'What?'

DGS 'Pa actually fancied people years ago?'

After dancing with my 4 year old granddaughter in the kitchen I said I needed a rest, she replied "that's because you have old bones nan!"

Nutrocker. Yes, it is good that he communicates quite well, but it does get him into trouble at times. He says what he thinks! No filters.

Only last week, 6 year old dgd suddenly said to her dad, " Daddy, it's really hard work looking after two children, isn't it!".

He was wondering how to respond, worried that he might have said something inappropriate in front of her regarding her and her little brother, when she produced two dolls and announced, " These two have kept waking me up all night, having parties!"

When my nephew started primary school he asked the teacher (who happened to be a friend of his mother's) " Is it better to be a busy bee or a busy body?"

Grandchild sent constant messages “have you got a (anything from a cake tin to a set of medals ) I need it for school tomorrow”. On producing the requested item one day “wow, is there anything you haven’t got?” Immediate response from much older sibling - “yes, enough sense to say no!” It still makes me giggle.

Years ago we visited Monkey World in Dorset and the late Jim Cronin was giving a talk. At the end he asked if there were any questions. A little boy of about seven put his hand up and asked “what does smug mean”? It brought the house down but Jim looked rather uncomfortable!

As a three year old I was taken by the midwife into the bedroom to see my mum and my new baby sister. Poor mum exhausted after a 20 hour Labour called me over to see the baby. The nurse asked me if I was pleased to have a new sister to which I replied no, Ive already got 2 big sisters, turning to mum I said can we have a baby brother next time then please. Needless to say there was not a next time and I eventually adored my little sister who is still my best friend.

When one of my grandchildren were young they asked me what I did in the war! My reply was, “which war?”

I am 66 years old now. When my eldest son was about 6/7 he asked me how we escaped from the dinosaur's. I was in my mid 30's then.

My 7 year old granddaughter asked me what it was like in the great fire of London.
