Good morning Mick and all to follow from a dry north Wales although we had a downpour ⛈️last night as we retired, the gardeners will be grateful I’m sure!

That Azalea is stunning FGT, we don’t have anything as eye catching blooming yet (the fuchsias are just budding) but here are my wild proper English bluebells to be getting on with 😉

Hope GG is having a great time in Andalusia and the cruisers too 🍹- Athens is marvellous and so walkable I found.

Hope all unwell feel better soon and Sally isn’t suffering too much with tinnitus after her Spanish spree.

A quiet but pleasant day pottering for us, I enjoy that sort too 🤗

Happy St. George’s Day. (Unlike the other countries of the UK, we English rarely celebrate our patron saint).
Good morning from a soggy Bristol. It has rained all night. It is supposed to ease off soon.
I had an unexpectedly busy day.
I finished cooking the piccalilli, then later, washed and labelled them. I had had to design, print and cut them out first. madeleine, I personally can’t stand piccalilli or chutneys; they are very English flavours. DH used to tell me I was racist for those comments!😂)
Two loads of washing on the line, then folded, ironed and put away.
I got on really well with my quilt, still a lot to do can see the goal posts.
The chiropodist came very late, and did my feet - they really needed it!
Got a message from the vicar. A parishioner is 96 today, would I make a cake for him at the Fab cafe? Of course, sigh.
Then two lovely things happened- firstly, I needed one egg for said cake but didn’t want to go to the village. My neighbour upstairs obliged.
Then the doorbell went, and it was my new neighbour brandishing two stick of rhubarb and a bunch of asparagus! She has been using my Wi-Fi, which reaches her house, since she moved in recently. BT and her server are not being very helpful in providing her with it. As I use mine very little, it’s no problem letting her use it. The greenery was in thanks - I’m very fond of both!
Today, I’m serving at the FAB cafe. I hope we have a few more attendees than last week.
Lovely azalea, Fgt, the scent is gorgeous. MD, I hope you feel more comfortable and everyone else’s day is less stressed and anxiety ridden.
Carpe diem, dear friends. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, dull and rain here today, maybe a few pops of sun

Garden stuff done yesterday, a few weeds, sowing more seeds, transplanting lettuces etc. I also see signs of life from some begonia tubers, they spend time in the garage every night and on cooler days

I picked the wrong time to wash my trainers yesterday, they are still soaking wet and will take ages to dry, I was thinking of lighting a fire today as the temperature has cooled inside. I will do that and can keep the trainers near the stove. I tried my trainer wash bags yesterday. They were perfect in the machine, I have a trainers setting and the machine was gentle with no thuds

I need to go to the greengrocers today, I have run out of veg and need some for guests tomorrow, I think I will do a big tin of roasted veg. I`ll walk there at 9 and light a top down fire afterwards. I have a bit of cleaning downstairs, will be finished by lunchtime and then I will enjoy being cosy with a book

Have a good day

Good morning all. A beautiful sunrise is always a welcome start to the day like this morning in Glasgow.

I had my first of the year al fresco espresso yesterday morning. Only possible as it was milder without a chilly wind. As it is another promising pleasant day I will visit a local Scottish Trust garden. I haven’t taken any pain relief for a week now that sciatica has reduced to bearable twinges first thing until I start moving. Progress at last!

Hoping you are feeling a bit better today MD
also your DH Gingster

Best wishes to all for a pleasant/more pleasant day for those in need of one.

Morning all from a very wet and grey West Oxfordshire.

After yesterday’s busyness, a quieter day today.

I will pop down to the post office and post my great nephew’s birthday present to Australia. It is a dinosaur based present! Then I will drive OH to a small riverside town about half an hour away for lunch. It is full of antique shops so after lunch OH wants a look around to see if any of them have any old tools! I wondered why as he isn’t a handyman by any stretch of the imagination!

Have a good day. I’m thinking of MaryD and FGT2.

GrannyIvy Wed 23-Apr-25 07:02:36

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it rained overnight, my garden needed it.
I have two rhododendrons about to flower and my tree peony is on bloom.

This morning we are with DD2 helping with various little jobs but not a lot else going on. I may go to the new garden centre that has recently opened locally this afternoon. Otherwise a quiet day planned here.

Take care and have a good day everyone.

Ashcombe Wed 23-Apr-25 07:02:37

Good morning from a damp but brightening Torbay following a wet night.

Yesterday, DH went to London to book his Eurostar tickets at St. Pancras for future visits to the UK in the summer. His employment history with BR secures very good deals if he books that way which aren’t available online. We’ve also booked to take my car over to France on the ferry in July/August, something I didn’t think would be possible a few months ago!

I hope Mr.Gingster is more comfortable this morning and will soon be able to go home. Thinking of you both, Gingster also Marydoll.

A busy day here as we prepare to set off on our cruise tomorrow with a visit to Keukenhof being the highlight of the week.

Hope all holidaymakers continue to enjoy themselves.

Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and sunny. Very cold out- I had to put out the bin this morning and fill up the bird bath. Kalu that's good that the sciatica is subsiding. GrandMattie I'm very fond of rhubarb. I must buy some soon. Pantglas I have bluebells in my garden too, but I think mine are the Spanish variety.
Yesterday I picked up my prescription and met a former colleague in the queue. We ended up standing chatting for ages. Then I nipped to the library and took out new books. Home again, and I did a little pottering but spent the majority of the day reading.
Today I might begin to clear out my double cupboard in the hall. It's very messy and annoying me. I have the school library to go to this afternoon. In between, some hoovering and dishwasher emptying. I have no idea what I'll have for dinner. The freezer will decide. Have a good day all

Grandmabatty Wed 23-Apr-25 07:07:45

Happy travels Ash and to Brook as well

Sar53 Wed 23-Apr-25 07:08:27

Good morning from a very wet Essex coast. I arrived home yesterday afternoon after a busy but manageable journey.
I'm hoping to get a doctor's appointment today. My eye is throbbing as I type and is obviously infected.
Washing, ironing, housework and lots of club admin to do. I'm not sure I feel up to it all so will do what I can.
I'm hoping for a good day for everyone, best wishes xx

Bellasnana Wed 23-Apr-25 07:10:25

Good morning from a cloudy Malta where we are promised a windy day with a high of 21°C and the sun making an appearance later.

Yesterday was also windy but very warm so I had a walk up to the village and sat outside enjoying a cappuccino. I messaged my friend to see if she was in the vicinity and she came and joined me which was lovely.

Today I have to clean the car (again🙄), put some petrol in, do a bit of shopping and go to the Post Office to collect a parcel for my friend as she won’t be able to make it before 1pm when the PO closes. I’ve got to present her ID card to get the parcel so I’m guarding it with my life!

Might watch some tennis from. Madrid later if there’s anyone interesting playing. It looks as though Alcaraz might not be playing as he injured himself in the last tournament.

Hope Gingster’s DH is feeling more comfortable today. Was so sorry to hear he was back in hospital.💐

Wishing a good day to all, thinking of all the poorlies and those carrying heavy burdens of worry. ☀️

kittylester Wed 23-Apr-25 07:10:34

Good morning all from a samp North Leicestershire. The garden bin lorry has just trundled past.

Wednesday is not my favourite morning. DH's gym session is at 9am and our cleaner starts work at 9. I need to get going early.

I still have loads of admin left over from yesterday - not really sure what happened but I appear to have achieved little.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Wed 23-Apr-25 07:14:15

Good morning everyone from a wet and mild mid Essex. The forecast is for a wet morning but a little brighter later. I can almost see the weeds and grass growing!
I went for a walk yesterday morning, didn’t need a coat as it was sunny and warm, still a northerly breeze though. Then I had my drive jet washed, it looks lovely, like new again.
Saw my friend with dementia in the afternoon.
DD2 rang to tell me about their visit to Legoland. The 7 year old loved it but the 2 year old wasn’t impressed! They all went on several of the gentle rides. They visited Windsor castle too and loved it, but not the cost of parking in Windsor!
I’m not sure what to do today, I have an asthma check early afternoon (a telephone appointment!) and a food delivery later. May have to do some housework!
gingster I hope that your DH will be feeling better today.
Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Wed 23-Apr-25 07:14:35

Ashcombe enjoy your trip. We went a few years ago but the weather was so cold that we opted out and stayed in the warmth of the ship. Every stop on the way was in the grip of winter and we'd had enough!

The weather for your trip seems to look so much better.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 23-Apr-25 07:18:42

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it rained heavily last night and woke me up at 3am. Sleep was patchy after that. I had a busy mind most of it nonsense I have a routine NHS dental appointment followed by a private hygienist slot. Best take me bank card.

Georgesgran Wed 23-Apr-25 07:19:17

Good Morning from a miserable, grey, misty Durham. I’m not doing much this week, with DD2’s Little Dog here and although I’m mobile with DD1’s car, I don’t want to use it unnecessarily, as it drinks fuel! However, a quick trip to Tesco is needed, then maybe some garden tidying. Shed man didn’t show yesterday, but it’s open ended - his timing, not the shed!
Hoping FGT’s dear man gets good news - it reminds me of DH’s time. MD are you feeling less low? (You know what I mean).

Best wishes to all. X

Georgesgran Wed 23-Apr-25 07:22:16

Forgot to mention MrG. Is he improving Gingster?

RosesandLilac Wed 23-Apr-25 07:24:06

Good morning, a somewhat damp start here in south Glos, the garden and farmers will be grateful.
I got all the washing dried outside yesterday so a pile of ironing awaits me. I don’t mind, I will listen to the radio or a podcast as I do it.
DH will take bigger dog to the village cafe this morning, I will take tiddler across the fields I think, she’s perfectly happy scooting around on the 10m line; she must walk many times further than me on her little legs! Such a happy little dog.
I seem to have acquired a bloodshot eye this morning 🤷🏼‍♀️, how peculiar!
Anyway, a quiet day ahead for me, I hope all goes well for you all.
Thinking of the poorly ones 🌹

monk08 Wed 23-Apr-25 07:25:12

Good morning all from the Black country where we have had overnight rain.
DH cleaned the windows side and back yesterday, I have a window vac but have never used it DH tried it when first bought and its become his new toy I now longer have to clean windows win win. We have a window cleaner for the front, but difficult for him to get round to the back.
Need some fresh flowers so take a trip round the shops then back to my book.
Hope Ginster DH is a little better.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Susan56 Wed 23-Apr-25 07:35:32

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain overnight.A mixed forecast today.

Todays highlights are a trip to the tip and a top up shop at Sainsbury’s.Hopefully a relaxing afternoon reading/dozing.

Gingster I hope your DH is improving and that you have managed some rest💐

Thoughts with all struggling with illness and worries.

Safe travels all on the move.

Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩

Blossoming Wed 23-Apr-25 07:42:46

Good morning from sunny Lancashire. The forecast is for sunny intervals later.

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful sunny day although the forecast wasn’t good. I spent quite a lot of time downstairs, practicing walking and watching the garden birds. I re-ordered some of my meds and rang BT to check that all is in place for tomorrow’s full fibre installation. They know I am physically and visually impaired so will get everything up and running before they leave.

Openreach will be here tomorrow y to install the new cable into the house and connect the router, so I may be missing for a few hours.

Have a good Wednesday all 🌹

Greyduster Wed 23-Apr-25 07:43:06

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dry at the moment in South Yorkshire and rather grey. Rain is forecast later. It was forecast (90% chance) yesterday so I chose to drive to school rather than walk. Guess what? It didn’t rain🙄. Writer’s group this afternoon at the library. I may do some shopping while at the mall.
Have the best day you can folks.

EkwaNimitee Wed 23-Apr-25 07:45:54

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday was sun and cloud and none of the threatened showers appeared.
I got on with the usual chores then spent the afternoon researching future trips online and generally wasting my time!
Today, the ironing and a general wipe around in the kitchen and downstairs loo then some sorting out of my summer clothes. More storage would be useful but that would only tempt me to overfill it. The hard answer is to clear out stuff and stop buying more! I find it difficult to get rid of anything that's usable especially if I suspect the recipients would do just that.

Hope all the poorlies are showing improvements and everyone has a good enough day.

Allsorts Wed 23-Apr-25 07:46:06

Good Morning from the Midlands, heavy rain overnight but clearing up. Still cant go in the garden with dreadful Hay Fever, bad year for it so far think I need a gardener to do jobs I used to do.
Have a good day everyone, a few seem to be enjoying holidays.
