Good morning all from a dry north Wales where I’m about to sit under the 🌲🌳 and chat to the birdies…I saw a pair of magpies, blackbirds and some gentle collared doves avail themselves of our bird bath in yesterday’s 🌞- the joys of sitting quietly in the beach hut with a good book eh?

Hope Susan had good news yesterday and the stubbed toe and bruises from a fall are less painful today…yes, that’ll be Roses and Blue Sapphire 🫨 resting day today?

Our boiler is being serviced this morning so a clearing out of the bed linen will be undertaken before returning it all to the airing cupboard- we only have two beds so why stock enough for a dormitory 🤦‍♀️

Have a good day x

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A lovely soft streaked salmon pink sunrise this morning in South Yorkshire. I was awake at three-ish for no reason I can fathom. GS’s football match yesterday afternoon was a cup match so a long, hot, drawn out affair which never seemed as if it was going to end and went to a penalty shootout. We ate a pub lunch afterwards and then I came home exhausted.
Today I intend to cut the front lawn and do some more weeding at the back. I might drive over to the garden centre later as I have some gaps to fill.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning everyone from a sunny (at the moment) Syracuse in Sicily. It is 6.50am here and we are just tying up.

Yesterday was a lovely day at sea, spent mostly reading on the sun-deck, and resting. Oh and a cookery demonstration by chef Phil Vickery which I thoroughly enjoyed. He is on stage again tomorrow.

Formal night and a lovely meal in the steak restaurant where I found glammagran and her DH at the table behind ours!

I will take it easy this morning, as my excursion is not until early afternoon - an exploration of the old city of Syracuse.

Photos show what I did yesterday...

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. Pantglas do you have the Merlin bird app which recognises lots of different birds in your garden?
Yesterday I completed all the housework, made soup and stewed rhubarb for a crumble. It was a quiet day but I enjoyed it.
Today is early childcare day so I shall be away shortly. Then a couple of hours in the school library. Later this afternoon I have a meeting with the lawyers regarding mum's will. My brother organised it without checking which has caused reorganisation of childcare. 🙄 I shall have to bite my tongue, I fear. Have a good day all

Good morning from Bristol, where there is a light mist. It is still pretty chilly. I don’t know what wear when the temps change from 7C to 21C…
Thank you for your good wishes , I always feel a bit meh for a couple of days after any vaccination, today is no exception.
I had the usual quiet Sunday (placido Domingo?😂) yesterday.
Today, Tesco, then I think I’ll pass on the OAP film in the afternoon, and do “stuff”.
I hope all those on holiday, esp. Ash, are having a wonderful time, that Susan has good news, and everyone else is free of pain or sorrow…
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Blue, my father was in Sicily during the war, lost his appendix there and saw his first opera, “Aida”, in the amphitheatre in Syracuse….

RosesandLilac Mon 28-Apr-25 06:25:45

Good morning, the sun’s rising here in south Glos, clear pale blue skies and a sunny day ahead.
A quiet day yesterday, two dog walks (a rather warm evening one), some weeding of the front borders and a few hours spent drawing in the summerhouse, all very enjoyable.
More of the same today, which suits me very well!
A cuckoo has been heard the other side of the village, I haven’t heard one for a number of years so I do hope that there will be more around. The last one I heard was halfway up a wooded mountain in the Brecon Beacons eight years ago.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a sunny berth in Rotterdam.

We had a most enjoyable visit to Hamburg on Saturday via a brand new port terminal which we found to be very disabled friendly as we were using my wheelchair. The city itself gives the impression that it is thriving. Our visit was enriched by an informative guide with a delightful sense of humour.

Unfortunately, Antwerp has had to be removed from the itinerary due to a national strike in Belgium tomorrow! A visit to Cherbourg is planned instead so much rearranging for shore tours there has been necessary for the Destination Services staff!

The photos show St Michael’s church in Hamburg where I was charmed by the singing from a children’s choir; the flag at half mast in honour of the Pope and the vaulted ceiling of the Rathaus.

Keukenhof Gardens today! Very excited!

Have a good week, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. No rain at the moment although I’ve no idea what is forecast.

Yesterday’s birthday party was a huge success, the animal man was very engaging and knowledgeable and kept the children entertained for more than an hour.

I intend to have a very quiet day although I will have to think about some kind of craft gift for one of the DGC. My mind is blank at the moment.

Hoping all the injured and ill have a better day today.

Morning Mick, morning All. A warm, sunny day is forecast, excellent.

A quiet day resting yesterday as my spine decided to let me know its there. It’s a little easier today. A call came from our goddaughter detailing the appalling standard of care her mum is receiving. SSD safeguarding staff are involved. It hurts each time I’m faced with the knowledge of how life is for this proud, intensely private woman now she is totally dependent on others.

We plan a pottering day with time outside, maybe a walk along the river. It will be good to have a stretch.

I’ll be back later to read more news, hoping for a positive outcome for susan

Have the best day you can everyone.

cornergran Mon 28-Apr-25 06:39:34

Just seen your message susan. Pleased all went well.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 28-Apr-25 06:44:51

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, and the sun is trying to shine. Forecast is good. We’ve had to set the alarm as we’re on duty today, school drop off and pick up as the childminder has a day off for an appointment.

In the hours in between I plan to read my kindle on the verandah, sunscreen at the ready! 🌞 and this evening we’ve been invited round to our neighbours for drinks. 🍷

Kalu Mon 28-Apr-25 06:49:15

Good morning all. Mostly cloudy today in Glasgow but according to the forecast, it will pick up on Wednesday. Sunshine is in its way.

I have a referral letter to go along whenever it suits to a local hospital for a (L) hip X-ray today as OA is suspected. This will match my recent diagnosis of (L) knee OA. On the bright side, sciatica is fastly disappearing.
The garden is quickly coming alive again with so many plants and shrubs bursting with buds and birds gathering at the feeders. It’s so uplifting.

Hoping all goes smoothly for you today Grandmabatty
Thoughts with Susan, hoping for good news.

Best wishes to all for an uplifting day.

Kalu Mon 28-Apr-25 06:55:43

Continued good luck for your clinic appointment Susan.

karmalady Mon 28-Apr-25 07:11:06

Good morning from s somerset, wall to wall sunshine today

I must get on with lunch prep and so on, then today will be spent cycling to my allotment and just gentle pottering after I have cleared the last bed of weeds. I keep those beds covered to force any weeds to show their faces, then I dig each weed out out, one by one and cover the bed again. I am hoping this is the last time

All of a sudden I have strawberry flowers, at the allotment and at home. I had to quickly order bird netting for the allotment bed. It is glorious up there and I did absolutely the right thing in getting the plot on that particular site. In just two minutes of cycling I am onto small country lanes going past fields and animals and I already feel fitter in all ways

I only put my asparagus crowns down two weeks ago and every one has started to produce spears, not for eating, not for two years but I will tie them to canes because the wind can be fierce and those beautiful ferns from the spears sustain the baby plants and future production

I am glad I did keep on with spring cleaning, I look around and nothing niggles me. I won`t be sewing nor knitting nor spinning now, just the garden, the plot, cycling and basic food.
I have decided to combine last meal with lunch as lunch is now later and later, depends when I arrive home and last meal is always 3,30. I don`t feel at all hungry apart from needing to replenish energy and best of all I don`t feel like nibbling, such a good change from winter when I eat like a dormouse

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry and sunny, a warm day is forecast. Both daughters and their families visited yesterday, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. One of my sons in law went up into the loft and brought down a few things to go in the skip next weekend. What was supposed to be at least a day clearing the garage has been reduced to Sunday afternoon! We’ll see how much gets done.

susan I’m pleased your appointment went well yesterday and hope the next appointment brings good news for you.
grandmabatty I hope your solicitors appointment goes well this afternoon and that your brother isn’t too difficult.

I hope to visit Hyde Hall this morning, the first time since before my operation. First I have to sort out a refund for a pair of curtains that I ordered online yesterday but which aren’t available now, but which I’ve obviously paid for! I’ll have to choose different curtains too.
Have the best day possible everyone, I hope those with pain and anxieties find some improvement today.

GrannyIvy Mon 28-Apr-25 07:19:08

Good morning from sunny Cambridgeshire where hopefully it should be a pleasant 21 degrees.

Our cycle ride went well yesterday , it was busy around the route but the pace of the ride was faster than I had planned (🙈) and we all enjoyed a lovely roast dinner together after but at least we both slept well last night!

Today is another busy one for DH who has a meeting late afternoon followed by a dinner out. Thankfully a quiet one for me. A walk this morning and then potter and enjoy some quiet time with my book.

Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Mon 28-Apr-25 07:24:05

Good morning all from a warm and bright North Leicestershire.

Bed change this morning including a lighter quilt - I think it's time.

I have lots of of admin to do and then we are taking Persie to the dentist and going to the theatre.

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Mon 28-Apr-25 07:31:02

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
DH has a scheduled download of his ICD today and I need to renew his prescription, they have changed the system after 6yrs of the chemist automatically renewing it we now have to do the ordering.
As the forecast is good will find something to do in the garden.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️

Sar53 Mon 28-Apr-25 07:31:10

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast. A lovely week weather wise to look forward to.
Yesterday lunchtime we went to the club and sat outside with our drinks. It's very peaceful there on the banks of the river.
Later we watched DH's team win the league, happy tears were shed.
Today he will be tidying the boat ready for me to go and give it a good clean. I won't go out in it unless it's spotless.
I have the usual Monday chores plus club admin to do.
I hope you all have a lovely day and see some sun xx

Georgesgran Mon 28-Apr-25 07:33:49

Good Morning from Durham. It’s another grey start, but my fingers are crossed for an improvement.
Despite resting my foot yesterday, it’s still aching. Nothing serious, just annoying.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then ironing DGS2’s laundry. I’ll be walking as little as possible.
Mick should you mention your weight loss to your Team?

Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 28-Apr-25 07:33:52

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks like it might be a beautiful day.

Our cleaner should be here this morning. I have the usual Waitrose shop. I also need to buy petrol and I have a bag of things for the Charity Shop. I had better get a birthday card for my granddaughter too. I’ve already bought her presents. She and her parents are hopefully coming this weekend.

Have a good day.

Marydoll Mon 28-Apr-25 07:39:24

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.

I'm glad the appointment went as well as it could, Susan,

Hopefully your appointment won't be too stressful, GMBatty

I am not feeling great today, I woke up during the night, feeling nauseous and hot, I hope BabyD hasn't given me, yet another of her bugs!

A number of jobs to be done at church today, after the Diocesan event yesterday. We are responsible for the altar linen, sacred vessels etc. I need to also update the checklist..
Today the money counters will be in and the stubs and cash for the parish raffle require to be separated, so that it can be banked.

Later I need to phone the RA hospital helpline, to update them on my hospital referrals.
I am struggling badly without my biologics, but don't think I can go back on them, until I see the oral surgeon and dermatologist.

Enjoy your day folks, hoping to hear positive news of the poorlies.
