While out in town today I had a brief sit down along with various other shoppers of all ages and races. An elderly man dropped a coin under the bench and a young African man leapt into action, ,crawling under the seat to retrieve it for him, then smiled broadly at us all and wished everyone a happy day before heading off. It really lifted my spirits.

Feeling a bit guilty because there is a nice man who is working hard weeding the garden whils I sit and listen to the birds, but DH has just gone to make him a cuppa and we will be paying him later 😀

Just realised he's weeded my Welsh poppies 😯
(Probably the wrong thread)

I have to rely on taxis these days and most of the drivers are really lovely. Today I needed urgent antibiotics and one of the women drivers volunteered to pick them up from the pharmacy 6 miles away and bring them to me, quite free of charge. (I insisted on paying!). People can be so kind.

Today my DD's dear little rescue cat finally plucked up enough courage to come and sit on my lap and she actually purred.

This thread seems to have gone a bit off piste courtesy of the wrecking crew. Lovely thread chicken and some lovely posts.

It's just a shame that some people had to try and spoil it. Sorry to hear about your nasty PM, quite uncalled for.

Pleased to hear that Hollysteers you must be relieved

Thanks so much Jaxjacky, I know it’s only a tooth, but it has given me so much grief,
Onwards and upwards🤞

Crossstitchfan Fri 02-May-25 16:12:36

It infuriates me that people come on here, make an inflammatory comment, then bu**er off, never to explain or join in with the responses (yes, I’m looking at you, Mabon1.) Cowardly, or what??

There is nothing wrong with your OPchicken and this is a lovely thread. A few posters are real miseries and like to find something critical to say and as for sending you a pm….a cowardly way out. Put it out of your mind. You had a good experience.

mabon1

Bit snobbish

What is Mabon1? You’ve got me well and truly baffled 😂.

Chicken I’m sorry to read you received an unpleasant pm. Some people see insult wherever they look. Try not to let it worry you - you aren’t the one with the problem, they are.

My broken abscessed tooth has been finally removed after a failed extraction last July.
I chose not to have sedation, so saved some money.

After attempting bed changing and some cleaning this morning I'm sitting outside listening to the birds which is giving me pleasure.

All I can say is ditto yet again!

Kate1949 Fri 02-May-25 14:47:19

Going to B&Q for bedding plants and finding that they have 20% off all bedding plants.

What a horrible thing to do chicken, incidentally, there is a nasty finger wagging admonishment to you up thread alluding to your completely inoffensive post, so I guess we can draw our own conclusions on that. I think the pleasure the poster drew from glorious days such as these is to fire up their inner keyboard warrior and send vitriolic emails to people who appear to be enjoying themselves way too much, maybe it makes them happy. Don't let it upset youflowers

Hearing this morning that my grandson has been elected onto his local council, for the Reform party.

Going to the dentist and finding I don’t need any treatment for a change.

My husband, son and grandson played 9 holes of golf together, last of the very warm days for now.

Yesterday I moved furniture, made walls good, and cut in a large room. Today I'll apply the primer, hopefully finish the paint at the weekend. Quite nice.

Ziggy62 Fri 02-May-25 13:20:53

Oh i do hope it's my post on celebrating Beltane that mabon1 finds "snobbish" lol

My neighbours accused me of being a witch ( shock/horror) because I celebrate Beltane, Samhain etc. Im happy to be a snob with my delicious home made lemonade (popped a wee gin in later in the evening 😋), the flowers look beautiful and the bbq was delicious

Crossstitchfan Fri 02-May-25 12:57:12

Or are you one of the people on here…

Crossstitchfan Fri 02-May-25 12:55:21

Come on, mabon1. If you are going to come out with such comments, you might at least have the decency to respond when someone asks you to elaborate. Or one of the people on here who lights the touchpaper and then stands clear?

Crossstitchfan Fri 02-May-25 12:51:42

It was actually yesterday, but never mind!
It was the birthday of one of my adult grandsons and we were all invited round to his house for dinner and cake with him and his partner. As many of us work shifts, and one lives abroad, it’s hard to get us all together so it was great that 9 out of the 12 of us made it.
The icing on the cake was that my granddaughter and her partner brought their 8-day old son to his first party! It made it extra special. It was wasted on him though, he slept through it all except for a brief feed! It was lovely for us all to see him though. All in all, it was a great day. Birthday boy was thrilled with his presents, so all was good.

That's dreadful, chicken. Was it an anonymous PM? So uncalled for.
My small pleasure today was a video call from a long lost cousin. It was so good to speak to her.

Kate1949 Fri 02-May-25 12:31:20

chicken. Have people really got nothing better to do? How sad their lives must be. This is a lovely, uplifting thread.

My ceanothus in full perfect bloom, a vision in blue.

nanaK54 Fri 02-May-25 12:26:07

Eldest son, daughter-in-law and children are off for a long weekend break.
I am 'babysitting' their gorgeous Sprocker Spaniel, she is so at home here and I am always very happy to have her to stay!
