I recently saw 2 Lane names that I would like to live on .

Featherbed Lane
Bumblebee Lane.

Anyone else know any addresses you'd like to live on or not ?

One of my relatives lives on a road called Far Golden Smithies. I`ve never been there, but it sounds delightful.

A new estate near Colchester zoo has animal street names and includes Wallaby Way (Finding Nemo).

We are a few miles away from Featherbed Lane and a Honeybottom Lane.

Bullshit Hill is in South Australia. Yorkey’s knob is a lovely beach suburb in Queensland - we were up there a couple of weeks ago.

Wyre Piddle, Pershore always made me laugh when we went through it.

There is a Scratchface Lane in Burnt Hill, West Berkshire.

Here's another Electric Parade. Several decades ago, I used to get my hair cut in the shop which is now a solicitor's office.
It all resonates fading glory now but I'd love to see the whole block with its lovely art deco facade thoroughly smartened up and refurbished.

Is this Electric Parade part of George Lane in South Woodford by any chance? It looks very like my, very distant, memories of the place.

I don't think that's the South Woodford one n that photo because the buildings seemed taller to me. Laura Ashley had a big shop on Electric Parade E18 in my day, 2005 - 2020. I think it's now a Turkish food shop. Off to look it up!

There’s Cackle Street near Uckfield. It conjures up images of ‘hubble, bubble…’! 🧙‍♀️

In York there’s a street call Whipma Whopma Gate, and in Hull one called The Land of Green Ginger. I think those take some beating. Also in York is The Shambles.

There was a Featherbed Lane near us when I was a child, but the name was changed to Feather Lane. Why?

New development near us, with one road = Hedgehog Row

I love the brevity of Cow Lane.

There’s a Featherbed Lane near Shrewsbury, my father told me it was named after the civil war battle of Shrewsbury where feather beds were laid out for the wounded. I’m not sure if this is true but he was right very often!

We used to live in Idle, near Bradford. I believe there was an 'Idle Working Men's Club'!

I sometimes pass a road named Hearts Delight Lane, it's a few miles from where I live, I'd love to live there!

Melancholy lane in my village in Dorset.

I used to live and work in the Basel area in Switzerland (no longer there so no Eurovision for me!) and would regularly walk past 'Butholen Weg' which translates to Buthole Way.....

There’s a Misery Hill in Dublin.

I used to stay near the village of Blubberhouses in Yorkshire. A pretty place but the name has sad origins

Junglebub Thu 15-May-25 14:42:45

Not long ago we drove past a road I would definitely not like to live in - Cemetery Lane - with a 'One Way' sign next to it!!!!!

In the nearby town there is a Pig's head in the Pottage Pot Gant.

I live near a Love Lane in London and there is also a Honeypot Lane.

Many years ago after the Olympics, Council houses were built and named after the athletes, like Lillian Board Avenue or whatever, I am showing my age!
