Good morning from a grey, cool Bristol.
The coffee morning in church yesterday hosted more men than women for the first time. It was quite curious.
I spent the afternoon finishing my quilt and starting one I have promised as a raffle prize for the AgeUk, etc., fete in July.
Church this morning and more sewing this afternoon.
Keeping FGT and MD in my prayers, together with all others in distress, rejoicing with you for small triumphs and joys.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from north Wales coast where I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed slurping the cup that cheers ☕️ - an exciting day awaits…

A trip on the Corwen to Llangollen 🚂 with fish’n chips 😋. I used to see the line restoration when I was working across north Wales a decade ago and always said it would be an interesting journey so here we go - another tick on my bucket list!

Will pop in later and read of your bizzinesses and hope you have a peaceful Sunday x

Pantglas Llangollen is on my bucket list have passed through it many times on our trips to North Wales but shall finally tick it off in July DH has booked us a few days there.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from s somerset, lovely sunny warm day here

Cycle ride yesterday, I do like to see the old village that I go through, thatched cottages, ducks in the lane, horses in the field and an old water mill. There is an ancient ambience of times past

I spent all afternoon making cycle shorts fit me, this stuff is made for women with thin legs and I have always had sturdy chubby thighs. I need the comfort on the saddle without tourniquet bands around my legs. I set to with the scissors and a needle. If I wear cycle shorts, they are worn under trousers. The cycle longs (3/4 size) I wear on their own, the grip is down my calf and that is fine

Today I am out on my bike, enjoying the lovely weather, which will break in a few days. This afternoon I want to clean my bike chains and will end up doing a bit of sewing, or maybe I won`t do either

Have a good day

Ashcombe Sun 18-May-25 06:19:37

Good morning from a sunny Torbay, where grey skies did appear for part of yesterday morning.

Nevertheless, I was pleased to manage a walk to the Downs for a coffee at our favourite pub before capturing this photo from my perch on one of the many memorial benches. The NE wind ensured I didn’t remain there long!

Pantglas2: Your railway trip sounds like fun: DH and I would enjoy that.

We had the pleasure of being entertained by a Welsh Male Voice Choir from Aberfan at a concert at our church yesterday evening. It was originally founded in 1968, two years after the tragedy, in response to the worldwide support received. The community wanted something positive as an ongoing tribute to the poor souls who perished.

A blessed Sunday to all, with prayers for those who are suffering. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Bellasnana Sun 18-May-25 06:20:30

Good morning from Malta where there is blue sky and the high is forecast to reach 26°C.

I had an awful night, palpitations, upset stomach and a feeling of doom and gloom. No idea what set that off. I’m still feeling a bit fragile but am supposed to be meeting a friend before Mass so I am trying to get going slowly.

Worked hard yesterday, lots of cleaning, washing and ironing.

Men’s tennis final later between Sinner and Alcaraz, I’m torn as I am a fan of them both. It should be a good match.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

RosesandLilac Sun 18-May-25 06:25:43

Good morning from sunny south Glos, clear blue skies here.
I really enjoyed my Zoom art workshop yesterday but my back was so painful by mid afternoon despite getting up and moving every 30 minutes. It seems to be much better this morning so hoping that it stays that way 🤞🏻
I have an early grocery delivery this morning then dog walk, I can’t climb over stiles at the moment so will drive to the next village and do my favourite walk I think.
I do have ironing to do and the housework has been neglected as I’m the only one who does it so I will catch up with that too.
I will start a new watercolour painting later, I have procrastinated for far too long…….
Have a good day 🌹

Good morning Mick, morning all, it’s yet another fine morning here in South Lanarkshire. We have been blessed with an unusually long spell of gorgeous weather and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

Yesterday morning was spent watching DGD3 play netball then taking her home where we stayed until DGD1 arrived back from her netball game with the rest of the family.

When I got back home and opened the doors into the garden I was met with the most glorious scent from the lilac bush, it filled the air around me. DH said he couldn’t smell a thing. 😐

We’re off out early to watch DGD1 play netball again, that girl lives and breathes the sport. As it’s happening in the university sports club we will probably have a wander through the West End afterwards.

Thinking especially of the FGTs and wishing everyone the best day possible.

cornergran Sun 18-May-25 07:02:46

Morning Mick, morning All. A cloudy start to our corner of Somerset, sun should arrive soon.

Yesterday was garden day. Today we ache grin. We decided with regret it was time to part with the montana, which was far too vigorous for our tiny garden. The prospect of taming it annually triggered common sense. There are plans for a small, definitely small, summer flowering clematis to scramble around an obelisk we already have. We now need to dispose of a montana mountain.

After a thoroughly enjoyable lunch we returned with plants to fill troughs and tubs. The sensible plan to leave planting until today became lost in enthusiasm, just two troughs in the front to finish today. Then I suspect we’ll do very little.

Hope you can relax today bellasnana. Sounds a wonderful day ahead pantglas. My ma in law became fond of saying ‘one day when I feel like it’ about tasks which is my mantra with housework roses. Hope back pain isn't too troubling today .

Time to get the kettle on here. Have the best day you can everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 18-May-25 07:12:28

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° with glorious sunshine. Baubles a lovely photo. I enjoy the scent of lilac too. Ashcombe a stunning view. You live in a lovely part of the country. Bellasnana I hope you feel better now.
Yesterday was quiet. I stripped the bed and washed the whites and hung them out. I managed to clean part of the bathroom but no bending to clean the bath. A quick hoover and that was the extent of my labour. The Tesco delivery came in the afternoon and he put the goods on my kitchen table for me. I had a quick chat with my neighbours who are heading to Lanzarote next weekend. Dd messaged me with a lovely photo of dgs2 munching on a giant empire biscuit after his swimming lesson. Ds sent me two photos of the top of Dumyat- one of the Ochil hills which he climbed yesterday. The view from the top was panoramic. In the afternoon I had a hypo. I haven't had one for a long time but after something to eat the symptoms settled.
Today another quiet day recuperating. Have a good day all.

Redcar Sun 18-May-25 07:15:49

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s cloudy at the moment. Yesterday the cloud cleared during the morning and we had a lovely sunny warm day - out of the wind which definitely wasn’t warm!
I did some gardening and nearly filled the wheelie bin with weeds from the front garden. I haven’t actually dug them out, simply pulled off what I could. My back held up well, so I may try a bit more gardening today. I’m looking after my dementia friend this morning as her DH has an appointment. DD1 and family may call in this afternoon,

pantglas enjoy your trip today.

ashcombe good that you were able to enjoy your walk yesterday, what a lovely view too!

bellasnana I hope you feel better today, those sorts of bad nights are quite disturbing aren’t they?

Thinking of all those with problems and anxieties, I hope things improve for you.

Have the best Sunday possible everyone, whatever you’re doing.

ginny Sun 18-May-25 07:19:26

Good morning from N. Bucks . I think we should have at least half a sunny day.
Not much planned for today , DDs curtains to finish and hang and a few to do lists to make.’
Hope you all have a good day .

Kalu Sun 18-May-25 07:19:59

Good morning all. Another sunny morning in Glasgow where I am having my kick start espresso al fresco.

I didn’t do much of anything yesterday to give my body a rest. Unfortunately not doing much allows my mind to wander with a stark reminder, I am sitting in this beautiful sunny weather alone. Possibly this is a weekend thing when families are all busy getting on with life is when I feel it most. Feeling rested, I can keep myself fairly busy to make me snap out of it.

What a peaceful setting your garden is baubles A wander through the west end sounds good in fact it is now on my list of somewhere to go for a day out.

Hoping a calm, peaceful day is ahead for all.

brook2704 Sun 18-May-25 07:26:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness, another lovely sunny day ahead, the weather here has been so beautiful recently.
Enjoy your day out Pantglas, your bike ride Karma, and everyone else out and about today
No plans for today except to potter in the garden and maybe sort some things out in the garage. DH has started the annual job of fence painting, I might paint a panel to give him a break. I’m looking forward first to a FaceTime call from DS, he lives in Basel so no doubt he’ll tell me all about the Eurovision partying last night
I remember that beautiful view Ash thanks for the picture
A beautiful place to sit Baubles especially with a lilac scent wafting across
Bellas take it easy today if you can
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

hollysteers Sun 18-May-25 07:27:51

Good morning from sunny Corfu.
Quiet day yesterday with the family and took a taxi in the evening to a restaurant recommended to DD. Lovely setting by the shoreside,
Left side of face still aching a bit after all my treatment.

Sun lounger and novel today methinks.
The younger generation stayed up late whilst I turned in.
Hope Bella feels better today and thoughts to FGT

Empress Sissi’s palace visited the day
before yesterday.

Sar53 Sun 18-May-25 07:40:03

Good morning from a grey, dull day day on the Essex coast.
Yesterday we went to Wembley for the FA Cup Final and my team won. The first time ever they have won a major trophy 🏆. It was a great day and our fans did the team proud.
We didn't get home until 23.30, tired but very happy.
Today we are going to the boat yard to see one of the original Dunkirk ships set off for Ramsgate to, later next week, set off for France.
This boat, Gerfalcon, has been lovingly restored by a group of enthusiasts. We are proud to have had her at our club.
All in all a very exciting and pleasing weekend.
Wishing you all a lovely day xx

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 18-May-25 07:40:14

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Another dry and sunny day beckons.

Church this morning at the smallest church in the Benefice. Afterwards OH and I need to buy some plants for the three or four pots in the back garden. Probably fuschias. I’ll also buy some plants for the hanging basket.

It will be Guinea fowl for dinner. It’s a bit tastier than chicken. Not sure about pudding. I always make one on Sunday. Maybe a raspberry crumble.

I am thinking of those GNs with difficulties, especially FGT and MD.

Marydoll Sun 18-May-25 07:41:52

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it isc12°C.

I have been quite unwell during the night, so a gentle day for me. DH slept through the whole thing! My busyness and full on week have caught up with me. 😔
I was supposed to be helping sort through donations for our parish fête today, but I am fit for nothing.
My plan had been to do that and then deal with the delivery of perennial plugs, I received yesterday. It just isn't going to happen.

Baubles, I am lusting over those pristine slabs and Pants, I have train envy!!!!

Enjoy your Sunday folks.

Greyduster Sun 18-May-25 07:42:08

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. A dull start, the same as yesterday but we shall end up scorching again. I weeded the new front bed hoping to get my heathers in, but it’s as hard as iron and very dry at the moment. GS and SiL called in on their way back from golf yesterday and so the bag of compost I bought is no longer in my boot and I shall be able to pot on some seedlings later. I have no firm plans for today. A bit of housework, some knitting and a walk probably.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-May-25 07:46:42

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex.

We have a dear friend coming for lunch today, we met many years ago when our children were babies and she moved in next door.

Wishing you all a calm and peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Taichinan Sun 18-May-25 08:00:00

Good morning all, and another glorious one. I shall ignore that pesky north wind which doth blow and hopefully will find an area later where I'm sheltered from it.
Grandmabatty a walk up Dumyat used to be one of my DD's favourite occupations of an evening - I've done it once or twice as well 😉.
Yes, Kalu, sunny summer weekends are hard 💐🫂
Yesterday's tai chi on the beach was glorious in the sunshine, and there was a good turnout. Numbers seem to have settled around 18, although strangely it's not the same 18 each time 🤷. 14 went for "tea and sticky buns". It's just a lovely social occasion certainly the standard of our tai chi performance is not high on the moving sand 😉
Today is I know not what, but something involving a bench, book and sunshine this afternoon. Enjoy your Sunday too everyone.

kittylester Sun 18-May-25 08:01:58

Morning all from an cloudy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot going on here today - just yet more football on TV.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Sun 18-May-25 08:04:44

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Yet another smashing day.

Yesterday's memorial picnic with singing on Portobello beach was inspiring.

This morning, a potter friend is taking one of my wheels now that I'm scaling down. We'll have lunch out and later I'm going to a concert with tea at a veggie restaurant in Edinburgh.

Too much eating on the agenda!

That's such a tranquil picture Baubles and I can imagine that lilac scent. You've reminded me I planted a small lilac last year. I must check on it.

Hope everyone's plans work well.
Thinking of those with worries and sadness.

GrannyIvy Sun 18-May-25 08:04:47

Good morning from the Algarve where it looks to be a lovely 21 degrees and sunny today. We will enjoy reading our books in the sun and potter down to the local shop for food supplies. We are tired from the whole airport thing yesterday so a day of rest.

Thinking of those struggling at the monent and hoping everyone has the best Sunday possible.
