Good morning from a still cool Bristol. The cold nor’easterly has finally reduced.
My quilt is now finished, bar the date and my initials that convention requires to be embroidered on a border. At last.
Today, I have an empty, but I need to make some more cranberry and orange marmalade as my stocks are low. I shall also carry on with another quilt.
I need to transplant my tomato plants to the big pots, but must to take out the tulip bulbs first.
The FGTs are much in my thoughts today. 🍀🫂
May your day be joyful. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where it’s cloudy at present but a sunny 26°C is forecast. Hopefully not as windy as yesterday.

Had a good day with the boys yesterday, my tummy troubles gradually improved during the day which was good as they were two Duracell bunnies, never stopped, no nap and it was a challenge trying to explain to DGS2 why he mustn’t do somersaults off the sofa (into the dog’s bed🤦🏼‍♀️) until the wound in his tum is fully healed.

I’m off again in a minute, hope to take them out today as it’s a long day otherwise.

Hope you all have a good day, special thoughts to all who are dealing with troubles of one sort or another.☀️

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay, possibly the last day when such weather is expected.

I had contact with all three children yesterday, including DD1 in Australia and enjoyed hearing from them. My DS sent the flowers, delivered late afternoon by our favourite florist. She was full of apologies but said their flower delivery to the shop was late due to customs delays. Thanks, Brexit!

The play (The Late Edwina Black) was very long with two intervals. Unusually for me, I didn’t join folk in the bar afterwards as I was very tired. My first Front of House duty in a while sapped my energy, especially following the exercise class in the morning.

Thinking of those facing difficult times. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

And here are the flowers….

grandMattie Tue 20-May-25 06:26:25

Gorgeous flowers, Ash.

Good morning from a hillside in south Glos, clear skies here too.
I took tiddler for a long walk yesterday after walking bigger dog, a route with part of it new to me. It’s a long haul back to the top of the hill but lovely views and very peaceful. The sun came out as we went uphill, the breeze dropped and it was very warm work! That’s the hill in the photo! The one with the church in the distance.
As tiddler is a flat faced dog I have to be very aware of her needs being different from the other dog’s so in warm weather she’ll get a good walk early on and that’s it unless the weather cools off in the evening. She’s perfectly happy pottering around the garden.
I spent some time in the afternoon sorting out the overgrown border by my summerhouse, dug out two shrubs, discovered heucheras, two shrub roses and a germ struggling to survive. After a really good watering ( the soil is like dust), I added a bag of manure/compost and gave it another good soaking. I hope it works!
Today another early walk then I will start a watercolour painting.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

RosesandLilac Tue 20-May-25 06:28:44

The hill!

RosesandLilac Tue 20-May-25 06:29:19

Beautiful open skies

RosesandLilac Tue 20-May-25 06:34:16

Bum! Second photo won’t work….

RosesandLilac Tue 20-May-25 06:34:36

Try again…

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. Well the procedure is at 8am at the Christie hospital. And strangely enough we both slept really well. Himself has just made me TIB (he could only have sips of water at 6am) and as he brought it in he was singing (to the tune of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic) “Today’s the day that (his 2 syllable name) gets his stent done”! 🎵
Aw. My man. He’s bluddy wonderful. 😁

Well, I shall slurp this tea then it’s time to dress and go. Sun’s shining, a beautiful start to the day, we trust in the team and have hope in our hearts.

Xxx

Good morning, from a warm, sunny Cyprus. Lazing around is just what I need.

I’m sending positive vibes to the FGTs today. Hope the procedure goes well.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire. We are forecast 20° and sun.

DH is leaving at 7.45 to do a volunteer drive. I have a hygeinist appointment, a singing lesson and ironing on my agenda and, possibly, a quick trip to Waitrose.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrandmaC47 Tue 20-May-25 06:43:20

Fgt, thinking of you both.

Greyduster Tue 20-May-25 06:49:12

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. There must be some rain in those clouds somewhere but I expect we shall fry yet again this afternoon. My poor plants need it.
School this afternoon, then I will go to the gym and call in the garden centre on my way home.
Fingers crossed for Himself today FGT.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 20-May-25 06:52:44

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I am off to London shortly for a Study Day at the Royal Academy.

I am thinking of the FGT2S and hoping all goes well.

Kalu Tue 20-May-25 06:57:50

Good morning all. Overcast at the moment in Glasgow with sun coming through eventually and a high of 23 deg. today.

DD1, GD2 and her friend along with a friend of DD and her DD plus dogs have had four gloriously sunny days at the but n ben in Perthshire. All three girls are on study leave.
A trip to B&Q to have a look at bamboo blinds for the garden room windows. I will have a look in their garden centre hoping to find a few of my favourite shade of red geraniums, failing that, a visit to two nearby garden centres to find them. 🤞

Beautiful flowers Ash.

Wishing all a peaceful day and a more settled day for those with worries and struggles. Thoughts especially with the FGTs

luluaugust Tue 20-May-25 06:59:37

Good morning from Worcester where out short break finishes this morning. A really good group nearly everyone chatted to each other and the tour guide was excellent.
Very best wishes to the FGTs.

EkwaNimitee Tue 20-May-25 07:16:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. No rain due today!
Nothing exciting yesterday, just cleaning in the morning, gardening and sitting in the sun in the afternoon....and lots of watering. I do wish the unpleasant northeasterly wind would go. It's calm first thing in the morning but picks up to a stiff, chilly breeze during the day.

Today I need to pop into town to collect more pills, I have got the GP to change the low dose antibiotics I take to prevent kidney infections for something called Hiprex. We shall see if that works....I hate having to take antibiotics as I am concerned about building up resistance in bugs and damaging my gut biota also.
As for the rest of the day...a return to the necessary jobs and more planting out, I've still a few plants to go and can only manage one or two a day depending on their size.

I hope all goes well for your man, FGT, he's being very upbeat about it.

Redcar Tue 20-May-25 07:18:50

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s sunny and cool at the moment. I hope the cold wind drops a bit today.
I went into town yesterday and did some shopping, then walked again in the afternoon. I cleared the bulbs from the trough and took some of the compost out of the trough, I’ll replace it with new compost ready for the dwarf beans if they ever germinate. I’ll go to the garden centre this morning & get some plants for the front garden, also beans if they have any left.

Thinking of the fgts and hoping that the procedure goes well this morning.
bellasnana, I hope your tummy troubles continue to improve. Good that DGS2 is feeling so much better, but it must be difficult to stop him leaping around too much!

Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts with those who are worried, anxious or suffering in any way.

Taichinan Tue 20-May-25 07:20:00

Good morning everybody, and it's a beautiful one here on the Angus coast. The wind that has been buffeting us of late out of the north has become just a westerly breath. Oh the relief!
Your area looks beautiful, Roses - plenty of lovely doggy walks there!
Beautiful flowers Ash.
Tai Chi for me today - it comes round so quickly! - and I must pop into Tesco's for the eggs I forgot the other day, but otherwise a pottering day.
My thoughts are with Mr and Mrs FGT today and a happy outcome.
Enjoy your days everyone.

Kalu Tue 20-May-25 07:23:58

Just realised my error. DD1 and others had 2 days at the but n ben as the others had to return home. Foggy head to blame.🤯

cornergran Tue 20-May-25 07:24:35

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Could be the last reliably sunny day here too. Busy one yesterday, chores completed we decided to take a boot full of rubbish to the tip before I tackled the admin. Good news from a friend in the evening, her oncologist is very hopeful about her treatment and outcome.

I’m off to meet a friend today, coffee and lunch. I’ll use the car and park and ride, takes a while but worth it. Mr C will enjoy a quiet day without me finding him jobs to do, he’ll also enjoy eating steak for his lunch.

Good luck Mr FGT. I’ll be thinking of you both.

Must get a wriggle on. Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannySomerset Tue 20-May-25 07:26:53

Early start from me as plumber due at 8.00 am to deal with shower as yesterday’s pump installation resulted in the pump responding to every hot tap in the house, very unsatisfactory. He also managed to allow a water escape so that the kitchen ceiling will need repainting again. Complaint to his boss inevitable.

Yesterday’s planting session was very satisfactory but I was absolutely shattered by evening. It is so frustrating that any modest effort is so taxing, but that seems to be what old age has brought me.

Thinking of the FGTs and all with worry.
