Wow that’s so tall for a 12 year old Jax, I wonder how tall he’ll end up? Enjoy your time away and hope the weather holds 😎
Redcar I was a mum at 23, it seems so young now!
Hope The Imp is fast asleep now GG and you’re recovering with the wine and enjoying your book
I hope you sleep well grandmabatty and your legs and feet aren’t too painful

Welcome! Please make yourselves comfortable. I thank you all for your patience and support throughout the times that we've shared.
Wow Finn! At 5’1” I salute you!
We have been to visit a pair of open gardens this afternoon then picked the last strawberries ( very small). I started picking the gooseberries ( even smaller!). They will be such a pain to top and tail.
After garden visits, we are considering another flower bed …. It will be dry gardening.
Love to all in the quiet corner
Redcar snap! I had my son at 28 and my daughter at 32. Finn is a tall lad. Brook thank you. The pains have subsided. If it gets bad, I have cocodamol I had forgotten I had.
I was 31 and 36 with my two, my son is 6’3, Fins mum is 5’9, I'm 5’11, tall family
Double snap - Redcar and Grandmabatty. DDs born in 79 and 83 when I was 28 and 32. Both had their sons at 38 and George who aged 7 is 5ft tall already. Mind you DD1 is 6ft and her DH 6ft4ins.
Just popping in to say that I am very fond of you lovely lot. I continue to follow GP's orders and am half way through daily routine of guzzling "jollup" and pill-popping. Please take GOOD care of yourselves. The Kitchen is so fortunate to have you.
Good to hear from you Soop.
I have had a very quiet day. I was sitting quietly this morning when I heard a hammer at work close by. It turns out one of my lovely neighbours was fixing a loose fence post of mine. I have such good neighbours. Dgs2 had a lovely time on his trip to Almond Valley park near Livingston. He's lost his lunch box though.
The weather here has been showery and cool. I had to don a cardigan. I've hoovered and everything is tidy. I've been reading too and had a little nap. I've been researching new blinds, a rug and sofas and will start the ball rolling on hiring a decorator when my funds are in my account. So buy a suite first as they take weeks, then organise a painter and a blind fitter.
Good to 'see' you soop. pleased that you are following your medic's orders.
This kitchen is so fortunate to have you, and, us lot are very fond of you!
Warm wishes to you & to all in your cosy, friendly abode. x
Hi all, well I hope that jollop and pills are doing their job soop.
A breezy day here, sun/cloud, not unpleasant at all, I bought two pairs of shorts this morning after finally throwing out two very worn pairs reluctantly. Comfy clothes are harder to dispose of aren’t they.
Some garden tidying, picking mini cucumbers and watering this afternoon.
We’re off to Weston Super Mare tomorrow for a few days, optimistically I’ll pack one pair of said shorts, meanwhile, quiz shortly.
A very thoughtful neighbour Grandmabatty
Good to see you soop, I hope the jollop and pills are having the desired effect and that you’re feeling better.
jaxjacky I agree that it’s hard to dispose of comfortable clothes, I threw out a pair of shorts
last year when I realised I could see through the fabric. Another pair are almost as bad, but I hope they’ll do this summer! I saw a suitable replacement pair in Tesco’s last week but couldn’t reach them to see if they had my size! Due to spinal fractures I’m now 5ft 2 inches tall instead of the 5 ft 6 that I was a few years ago!
Have a good holiday in Weston Super Mare, I hope it’s warm and sunny for you.
grandmabatty great fun to refurbish your room, but sometimes hard to know where to start!
Have a pleasant evening folks, with a cooler night tonight.
Lovely to see you soop, hoping things are improving, take care. Like Gillgran says we’re lucky to have you
Have a lovely time away Jax, hope the sun shines and good luck in the quiz tonight - cucumbers look good too!
I’ve had a busy enjoyable day, the gym for a couple of classes and then coffee with a group of ladies at the garden centre, lots of chatter and laughter
You’ve very kind neighbours grandmabatty its nice that they help. Sorry your DGS lost his lunch box, eldest DGS here went through a phase of losing things - coats, jumpers, water bottles, footballs etc .. he just seemed so forgetful! He’s much better now though thank goodness
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner take care all x
Hello all and especially to our lovely Soop. Just a quick visit to tell you that my ds in the US is on his way over with his family to stay with us for two weeks! They’ll be here this time tomorrow.
We’ll have to manage their visit with various medical appointments for Dh but it’ll be fine. All four of our children will be around at the weekend - 16 of us in total, if my maths is correct - and it feels very special.
Love to you all, take care of yourselves. Xxx
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.
Soop, how lovely to see you this afternoon, I'm sure you are being a model patient for MrSoop. Thinking of you both. 💕
I had all three boys by 28, my DiLs were in their 30s and 40s before DGC appeared, much has changed in a generation.
Grandmabatty, good to hear that you're reading, resting and researching your room makeover, a new spin on the 3Rs!🤣
Jaxjacky, we have " tall boys" in our family too. My nephews and DGS1 are well over 6 ft, taller than their dads and uncles. Good luck for your quiz, enjoy your wee break in Weston-super-Mare. 🌞
Redcar, I agree it's hard to let go of comfy clothes. Trouble is, my wardrobes seem to be full of uncomfortable ones...I predict a diet!
Sounds like a very active and sociable day brook, I wish I had some of your energy!
However, I have surprised myself and booked a place in the Aquafit class this week, haven't been since last year! I probably won't manage the routine but I'll just keep moving gently to the music. 🤞🎶
Yesterday, I had lunch with my cousins in our local Chinese restaurant, another ' first' without DH who always enjoyed these get togethers. On Thursday I'm invited to lunch with his sister and cousins. I'm very fortunate to have family on both sides who are keeping in contact.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday evening and a good night's sleep. (*Grandmabatty*, I use magnesium spray and / or a cake of palmolive soap in my bed if my legs and feet are achy.)
TOYA, especially the FGTs and all with illness, worries or sorrow. NNGB.
Hello 👋 SueD, crossed posts! I'm delighted to hear that your DS and family are on their way to you, enjoy your special family gathering at the weekend. It will do you and your DH a power of good to be surrounded by your loved ones. Thinking of you.
Hello everyone.
Good so see you soop. As we used to say at work - keep taking the pills
. I hope they along with the jollop do their stuff.
We had the best time with family yesterday celebrating our not so Littlest making double figures. It was made even more special by a FaceTime call with our elder granddaughter currently trundling round Australia. So good to see her.
Have a good break jax, wishing you sunshine and gentle breezes.
What a wonderful time ahead sued. Enjoy every moment.
Our Chi-Me class this afternoon exhausted me. Oh well, that probably means it did me good
. Shame it didn’t feel like it.
Off early for the long trek to the eye hospital tomorrow. For the first time it’s a morning clinic, oh dear, we’re better with the afternoon. Never mind, lucky to have the appointment I know.
Rest well everyone.
Oh that’s wonderful news SueD enjoy having all the family together, very special times indeed ❤️
Enjoy the Aquafit grannmarie well done in booking the class, hope the water is warm

Magic Sued , a great weekend ahead 🥰

Fun evening, but fourth, no prizes.
Hello kitchen people, and especially Soop. It’s so good to hear from you.
I had the usual Monday. Cleaner came this morning. I did a weekly shop at Waitrose, dropped some things at a Charity shop and collected our prescriptions.
Thinking of the FGT2S.
Sleep 💤 tight.
sueD have a good time with your DS and family for the next two weeks and enjoy your family get together this weekend. It must feel very special for you all to be together.
grannmarie I’ve plenty of uncomfortable clothes in my wardrobe too and am struggling to find anything comfortable to wear in this hot weather. I’m having problems finding comfortable shoes too, wearing trainers most of the time. I used to wear flip flops all the time but even they’re not comfortable now!
Hope the eye clinic goes well tomorrow corner.
Night night everyone.

Good afternoon all, I am busy going through old paperwork and preparing for a review with my financial advisor. My poor tired brain is not really ready for this. Great to hear from you Soop, glad you’re feeling happier YiaYia and pleased for you SueD.
I can’t mention everyone but I do try to keep up with all your news. xx ♥️
SueDonim how brilliant to have all of your children and grandchildren together in one place for two weeks.
I wish you the best time.
Good that your doctor is being so supportive yiayia, I hope the meds and reassurance are proving helpful. I’m pleased that helping on the farm did you good!
Good evening Kitcheners. Suedonim how lovely to have all your family visiting at the same time. Enjoy. Yiayia I hope you recover fully soon. Great photos. Animals are very supportive, aren't they? Grannmarie good for you joining aquafit.
I am fed up doing little and my innards are rebelling with the lack of action. Tomorrow I intend to go out for a walk to get things moving, if you see what I mean. I picked up a mini cross stitch kit and started it this afternoon. I'm currently watching The Thomas Crowne Affair with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. I'm enjoying the clothes and the settings very much.
Tomorrow a friend is picking me up in the afternoon and we are going for coffee. I will enjoy that.
Enjoy your evening all
