Fed up of the Beckhams

Everywhere you look online you are constantly reminded of the rift with their oldest son Brooklyn. As if it wasn’t enough to keep seeing Victoria Beckham scowling at the cameras and what she’s wearing.

argymargy Mon 26-May-25 16:22:07

I haven't seen them at all. You do realise that wherever you click, the algorithms will then feed you the same/similar content?

I find the whole cult of celebrity very boring .
I hate hearing about the so - called Duke and Duchess of Sussex as well .

Labradora Mon 26-May-25 16:35:25

I didn't know there was a rift with their oldest son, Brooklyn.
Who knew (as they say un the US)?
Probably everyone except me.

I couldn’t give a flying fig about the Beckhams, any of them, but especially that miserable stick insect that is Posh. I avoid reading anything about any of them, and fast-forward if they appear on the News.
That said, I accidentally saw a photo of Posh in a magazine at the hairdresser’s recently and noticed how much she has aged. All the lotions, potions, facelifts etc. have done nothing for her. She is just raddled and ageing (badly) now.

It seems the the Mail online has only two stories that they are printing on repeat either the Beckham's and their rift with their son or the Sussex's and their problems with anyone and everyone. Apart from them everyone else is some obscure TV reality person or an influencer ( whatever that is).

It must be heartbreaking for parents to be estranged from their grown up offspring but this situation must be even worse as it’s being played out on the world stage that they haven’t seen or had any contact with their eldest son.

However I don’t think Victoria has helped the situation by letting it be known via sources and ‘friends’ that she solely blamed Brooklyn’s wife for the situation and saying she is done with her.

Aldom Mon 26-May-25 16:57:15

Labradora you are not alone. I know absolutely nothing about the Beckham's. I didn't even know the name of their son.

They are very over exposed, they've orchestrated that by affording their children no privacy from their first moments. Now it seems they are having son and daughter in law problems. Where have we heard all that before?, oh I know all over MN, GN it's hardly unusual family fall outs neither is putting a spouse first. It seems Brooklyn has left the inner Beckham sanctum for a wife who doesn't want to be part of the brand, worse still her family are a helluva lot richer and young Beckham has fully ingratiated himself into the House of Peltz sad Brand Beckham conduct their spats via veiled posts, ridiculous, almost as ridiculous as that other self promoter who treats the world to innumerable pics of the back of her children's heads. She excelled herself with the latest one, off to see the bees with toddler daughter in tow, as you do! from the back they looked protective gear ready to enter a Wuhan Laboratory shock

It's all a load of rubbish of course, keeps us prols entertained s'pose.

JenniferEccles Mon 26-May-25 17:07:23

I think, sadly, it must be a more common situation for families than I thought.
For example, rather than just the odd thread, there’s a whole estrangement section on here with so many sad stories.

Like many things though I guess there are always two sides to every story.

M0nica Mon 26-May-25 17:10:33

I do not follow celebrities and I doubt if I have ever clicked on anything to do with the Beckhams in my whole life. Yet when i read my daily paper, whether the 'comic' or the serious one, there they are.

I do not understand why it should be front page news and why anyone would care. lets face it estrangement can be part of the up and down of life, lasts a year or two then forgotten. leave them alone and he will probably come home.

RosieandherMaw Mon 26-May-25 17:11:24

“Everywhere” ????

I must be looking in the wrong places- I suggest you do the same.

eazybee Mon 26-May-25 17:12:40

The Telegraph feature the Beckhams and the Sussexes regularly. I believe they recently had a meeting to discuss the problems with their families. David Beckham is clearly angling for a Knighthood, appearing to be very friendly with the King, and Meghan was pictured today 'cooking'. As light relief we have had a parade of 'film stars' at Cannes and Jeff Bezos and his fiancee, Laura somebody?
Who needs Hello Magazine?

Eek ! Don't hold back!

Casdon Mon 26-May-25 17:19:37

I haven’t seen anything about a Beckham rift, where are you reading it Cardashian? I loved David’s Stella advert recently though, that’s the last time I saw him.

Casdon Mon 26-May-25 17:20:53

PS Crosstitchfan, he looked to be ageing very attractively!

Looks like he’s had ‘work’ though?

I’m no expert, but his eyebrows look odd.

Casdon Mon 26-May-25 17:38:48

I think he has had a hair transplant, but he’s got plenty of lines and wrinkles. He has always had very straight eyebrows. Either way, he’s a very handsome man.

NotSpaghetti Mon 26-May-25 17:49:55

Like argymargy (and some others), I was barely aware of this.
I have had nothing in my "news feed" about them as far as I'm aware.

It is not just the Mail On-line. Every single day the Daily Mail has Megan on the front page and usually a double page spread about her. Open the paper and there is usually an article about the Beckhams. Why on earth does the Mail think that anyone is interested in these people?

I agree.

I've seen no recent news in what I read - perhaps 'The Economist' is not interested in these people or their children's names? I think I read of him a few years ago on a Netflix series. Didn't watch.

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 26-May-25 18:06:11

I'm fed-up with hearing about the Beckhams, Prince Harry and his wife, Katie Price and now Gary Linnekar

Jaxjacky Mon 26-May-25 18:07:46

I saw David on one of the programmes recently where he was at the Chelsea flower show, missed everything else, expect I’ll survive.

valdavi Mon 26-May-25 18:09:08

I haven't heard anything about a Beckham rift, haven't seen Victoria on anything for years. Must be clicking on different content than OP I guess.
