Good morning all. Sunny and dry this morning in Glasgow.

I had a busier day yesterday tidying up some admin and the sunny dry weather meant I could spend time in the garden pruning back the wall of ivy. Also hung out a washing so, quite a productive day. Waitrose later today.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day with hopefully some sunshine.

Good morning from a grey Bristol. It drizzled gently but steadily for about 6 hours yesterday, no wind either. Then the rain stopped and the wind picked up. It’s still very windy.

I was so very busy again yesterday with home things - washing (including about 20 tea towels from church), cleaning the hard floors, baking for the FAB cafe today. I sewed up my new trousers, just hems and waistband to do.

I made a sort of moussaka for dinner. There was enough forgive meals, so I froze 3, ate one and kept one for tonight.

Just FAB cafe today. I’ll do my church cleaning first instead of Saturday as I’m serving coffee then.

I hope everyone is enjoying their half term week with their families. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 28°C.

Today I am meeting up with the two sons (and their families) of one of my dearest friends who sadly died five years ago. It is so lovely of them to keep in contact and to see them on their visits to Malta.

The boys have nursery today so I’m not sure if I’ll take them to meet the children (they have six between them including twin girls) before going to nursery. It’s so very hot to be out and about, they are fine with it, it’s Nana who ends up like a wet rag!😂

Yesterday was a long day as they did not nap and had the energy of two chimpanzees! Still, I must make the most of this special time as I won’t be needed nearly as much once they start school in September.

I so wish I had the sewing skills of grandMattie and karma as I’ve two pairs of trousers that need shortening plus three pyjama bottoms that are still good but need new elastic in the waistband. It’s sewn in so not the sort you can just thread through.

I had better get a move on. Hoping for a good day for all.☀️

PS. Thank you for your kind comments on my nails. I can take no credit as I didn’t even choose the colour myself, left it in the capable hands of my nail tech.😄

Morning all from the north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 nest after our foray to the north east - what a lovely part of the UK and you even blessed us with dry weather for the miles we walked! Alas, the Welsh weatherbarn hasn’t replenished the 🌞 it gave so generously in April and May and our water butt is now half full…☹️

I haven’t yet read through the last few days posts so will offer my best wishes to those with health concerns 💐 and a toast 🥂to those with celebrations afoot whilst I catch up.

All the inbetweeners can enjoy one of my Fat Rascals from Betty’s with their morning refresher ☕️ ( gosh they’ve gone up since I last indulged…🤬)

Catch you all later x

Good morning from Shropshire.A bright start but a day of sunshine and showers forecast.

DD2 and family are coming over for the day today 😁

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Good morning from a bright and breezy Torbay.

We had a busy time at Props yesterday as last week's play was a Victorian melodrama with a very cluttered set, in keeping with the period. Luckily, we had most of our team there including younger, fitter ladies who are happy to mount steps to return items to high shelves!

I hope you enjoy seeing your visitors, Bellasnana - it is kind of them to keep in touch with you, recognising how much you meant to their late mother.
A busy day for you, grandMattie!
I’m glad your break went well, Pantglas2.
Have a good family day, Susan56.

Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It looks like we’ve had yet more rain overnight to add to the constant drizzle we had yesterday. I was banking on a dry day today, too, as I have laundry to do. I spent most of the afternoon reading, but I did manage to repair one of the hinges on the cabinet under my bathroom sink. It probably wouldn’t meet with DH’s approval but it will hold and the door is no longer falling off! The whole unit could do with replacing anyway.
Writers group at the library this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Wed 28-May-25 06:40:54

Good morning from a bright hillside in south Glos, a breezy start here.
We had a fair amount of rain yesterday, my new water butt is full! I managed to miss the rain for my early dog walk but the dogs and I got very wet in the afternoon.
I lit the wood burner when we got back so all cosy and warm while it poured down.
DH will take bigger dog out this morning, they’ll end up in the village cafe, I will take tiddler out first thing.
I fiddled about with some acrylic paint yesterday, didn’t achieve much 🙄, it’s a case of ‘All the gear and no idea’!
Never mind, I will have another go today.

Wishing you a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from dry and bright Edinburgh.

The children will be up any moment now so I’m making the most of the quiet.
DDoutL left yesterday evening to go to her work event so DS and I will split the drop off. He will take the littlest to one nursery and I’ll take the other two to school and nursery which are attached. It will be easier after summer when they will all go to the same place.

The eldest’s sports day is this afternoon so I’ll walk back up the dreaded hill to the park opposite the school to watch her. Depending on the weather we may go to the beach for an after school walk and an ice cream.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a cloudy but dry (so far) Black Country.

It tipped it down all day yesterday. Took DGD2 to the bus stop so she could meet her friends in Bridgnorth. Then played a few games with DGD4, then made a Lasagne for DD and SIL as they arrived home from Amsterdam around 6pm.

No real plans today, after 4 days being with 2 teenagers I need a rest!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

kittylester Wed 28-May-25 06:52:50

Good morning all from an overcast and damp North Leicestershire.

We had lots of rain yesterday and it was quite windy when I walked across the vast M&S car park. To add to that, they didn't have the trousers I had seen on the website.

Today is week 5 of our Carer Learning course and we have cake!!

karmalady Wed 28-May-25 06:54:27

Good morning from s somerset, no rain today, just damp ground and brighter.

Bellasnana, get yourself a stitch unpicker and quietly sit and unpick stitch by stitch. Then put new elastic in. You can do it, it does not need to be perfect

Yesterday was lovely, just me, no sound but concentration while I finished more summer everyday tops. Progress so far is five new tops in 3 different patterns and 5 colours. The 5th is just cut out and is a favourite pattern of mine.

Last night I spent some time sorting patterns for warmer tops, I am part way through that job and will finish it today.

Result so far is some more space on a shelf in my sewing room and I used five lengths of stashed fabric.

I took a new look at some lovely australian patterns from Tessuti. I already have the patterns but using tried and tested does not stretch me wrt fit, so next sewing project will be a Tessuti pattern. A toile first to get sizing right. I want to eventually make Cora in a precious good fine cream linen from my stash

thefoldline.com/products/tessuti-fabrics-cora-top

I have some Tessuti dress patterns, they are in my sights after I come out of my comfort zone of shirt dresses etc but I need to get to terms with their sizing first

Today I need to do an about town walk, for the exercise

Have a good day

Grandmabatty Wed 28-May-25 06:57:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and sunny. GrandMattie* I never learned to sew - mending and cross stitch, yes -and I'm in awe of those who can. Roses the first paint I learned with was acrylic.
Yesterday the boys were well behaved before school. We had one little blip when dgs2 got upset because he wanted to stay with me and not go to nursery, but he was fine when I got him there. I pottered about, hoovering etc during the day, then picked them up. A number of teachers came to ask me how I was which really touched me. It's a lovely school. After I dropped them off, I rested as I was very tired.
Today I'm heading back to the school for dgs1's sports day. Dd is working in her office and can't make it. His other granddad will go too. I hope dgs1 isn't disappointed because he assured me he was going to win the running race. I anticipate tears if he doesn't!
Once back home, I will make a start on the boys room which has got in a fearful mess. I have paperwork to do for mum's estate too. It will probably be bolognaise for dinner. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-May-25 07:08:58

Good morning from a bright corner of S E Essex.

No childcare today so I shall go to the gym, and start sorting out dresses and separates for our holiday next week.

No idea what to have for dinner, I might gaze in the freezer for inspiration…

(((Hugs))) to those in need

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Redcar Wed 28-May-25 07:11:55

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s bright and sunny so far, and feels fairly mild. It rained for six hours non stop yesterday and was then grey and drizzly all evening, with a strong wind again. Today is forecast to be less windy and slightly warmer. The water butts are overflowing!
I’m at DD1’s today, didn’t sleep very well and the dog is quite unsettled this morning. The dog walker didn’t turn up yesterday, but I doubt the dog would have enjoyed a walk in the rain anyway. Hopefully she’ll get a walk today. DD1 and family will be home this evening.
It will be another quiet day for me, I’m catching up on reading magazines and a book, and may have a short walk this morning.
I hope those with difficulties find some relief today and thinking of those who are struggling.
Have the best possible day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 28-May-25 07:28:28

Morning all from a bright and sunny West Oxfordshire.

Granddaughter has returned home after her stay with us. She seemed to have enjoyed herself. I am shattered! There is nothing in my diary today so I’m staying home. There is laundry and ironing and I have two V&A lectures to listen to. I’ve also signed up to a WI zoom lecture on London markets. OH is going to a beekeeping meeting this evening so I can relax tonight as well.

I hope all is well with the FGT2S and MaryD.

Gingster Wed 28-May-25 07:34:25

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday.

Dd came home from hospital late afternoon and is feeling better to be out. Still has enlarged glands and her asthma is bad but hopefully she’ll improve . The scans were clear 🙏.
Thanks for all your kind wishes. ❤️.

Today we have the physio for Dh and I hope he’ll take him for a walk with his rollator. He really can’t get on with it, but needs it as his walking is still poor.

I hope you all have a gentle day. 🌼

EkwaNimitee Wed 28-May-25 07:37:38

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey Carlisle.

On Monday, I had a dental disaster...I was cleaning my teeth when suddenly a crown flew out. Yesterday I went into town and popped into the dental surgery for an appointment which will be tomorrow. I'm not optimistic, this crown has been out and replaced twice before, I'm surprised it's lasted this long. So he probably won't be putting it back, it will be root canal work or on a partial denture. Meanwhile, I must practice smiling with my mouth closed!

Today? A few little cleaning jobs in the bathrooms and kitchen followed by some holiday research on the Mac and I ought to get out for some exercise or work in the garden. We'll see what happens with the weather and my willpower.

Do have a good day everyone especially if you're down for any reason.

cornergran Wed 28-May-25 07:41:23

Morning Mick, morning All. The sky looks to be holding rain, still windy although less so than yesterday. Our garden looks very battered and sad.

Somehow I filled every second yesterday. Mr C slept for a couple of hours in the afternoon, tired after Monday.

We’ll be heading to town this morning for a while, no 1 son will be here this afternoon to move our aerial socket in the loft and bring down a couple of items too heavy for me to wrangle. I hope he’ll also take a large, heavy rug home with him. There will be fish and chips for us all for tea.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Liberty Wed 28-May-25 07:41:41

Good morning from a bright Suffolk after a rainy yesterday. The garden certainly needed it but the dog wasn’t so sure!

I’m off to my keep fit class in just over an hour and out early evening to a dear friend’s for dinner. 3 other friends will be there so it will be a jolly evening and only a 10 minute drive home afterwards.

Good to hear Gingster that your DD is out of hospital and feeling a bit better and to know that her scan was clear. Reassuring news for all the family too.

luluaugust Wed 28-May-25 07:43:35

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Lots of rain yesterday. I got my glasses adjusted again, hopefully this time they will sit as they should. A trip round the M&S football proved rather expensive
Off to DD2 this morning for a cuppa, the GC have their heads down revising and she is writing Reports but is happy to have a short break
Best wishes all round

brook2704 Wed 28-May-25 07:44:58

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey cloud, yesterday was showery with sunshine in between
I’m another one here who can’t really sew, when the DGC were babies I did knit a few items but that’s about it. I’m so impressed with the many talented grans on here, especially Karma, well done to you all.
Today I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and then a catch up with my pal over coffee. I have many days where I just seem to do the same things, I expect it’s the same for many of us
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Wed 28-May-25 07:54:06

Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is trying to break through but I think more rain is predicted. Yesterday was nonstop rain so it was 3hrs at soft play with the boys then back to ours for more play.
Today is catch up with a few jobs around the house.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with missing posters and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

harrigran Wed 28-May-25 07:59:10

Good morning from a grey NE, does not sound so wi dying though.
Yesterday was a quiet day with a lot of reading a d some TV.
During the afternoon I thought I might take a little walk, when I reached the front door there was a sudden heavy downpour. If I had left earlier I would have got drenched as I can not walk fast.
My window cleaner is coming today, need to go and unlock the gates.
Another quiet day.
Have a good day.
