Good morning from a clear Bristol. It has been warmer despite the chilly wind.
I as pretty busy yesterday, putting out my French marigolds and sunflower seedlings. The latter are very elegant with the clear yoghurt pot surround, protecting them from slugs and snails…
Dined at DD’s. All girl evening as SiL was at a gig in Bath. He’s a trombonist in two jazz bands.
Serving coffee at church this morning. It’ll be nice to talk to people; the last few days have been very silent.
Only two weeks before DS is back!
Have the best weekend possible. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a bright Torbay with sunshine forecast.

My dentist is concerned about my treatment (or lack of) from the hygienist so I'm to see a different one four times a year to improve matters. I've had concerns for a while that the one I was seeing wasn't as thorough as her excellent predecessor. Now I'm paying the price .... in every sense!

I'm planning an early trip to Lidl before it's too busy. Have a good weekend, whatever you're doing, with more laughter than tears.

Good morning all. Rain has started and is forecast for most of the day in Glasgow.

It was a decent sunny day yesterday which allowed me to hang a washing and make a start on painting garden furniture which has been neglected for the last two summers. Lots to keep me busy outdoors but not today, instead, DD1 and GD2 are coming to lunch. We never do definite timing so I will see them some time around noon. That’s the only plan for today so far.

Have a good weekend all and hopefully a brighter one for those with difficult times whatever they may be.

Bellasnana Sat 31-May-25 06:05:46

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and already warming up.

Had a good day with the boys yesterday, both had a nap before going to nursery after which I went to the hairdresser for a colour, then home to watch tennis.

I feel as though I have an insurmountable number of jobs to get done today and no real idea what to tackle first.

I’ll get stuck in once I’ve had my tea but it’s going to be an effort.

How interesting to hear you have a trombonist SiL grandMattie! I have always thought it must be lovely to play in a band or orchestra.

Wishing you all a good weekend.☀️

Susan56 Sat 31-May-25 06:14:59

Good morning from Shropshire.Dull at the moment but forecast to be warm later.

A good day with the children yesterday.DGD and I went for a walk after our evening meal. When we got back H was sad he hadn’t come with us so we had to do another mini walk!

Today is DH’s birthday.DD1 is doing a birthday lunch.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good Morning from Durham. It’s a very grey, still start here. My friend has a flat tyre and has been texting for advice - for an intelligent lady, who has been on her own for 20+ years, I’m amazed how unsure of some things she is. Her man-friend will take a look later, but it sounds like a new tyre is needed as it’s a run-flat.
I started a garden job yesterday that I can’t finish! Thankfully, the gardener will come on Friday, so that’s a job for him, as it needs more brute force (him) than ignorance (me).
Not sure what the day holds.

Wishing everyone at least a half decent weekend. X

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and wet. It looks like there's been substantial amounts of rain overnight. Susan happy birthday to your DH. I hope he has a nice day. GrandMattie a trombone player in your family! I think it is one of the coolest instruments. Kalu enjoy your family lunch.
Yesterday was the school picnic and it was a success. Decent weather - the rain stayed away and well attended with lots going in the donations buckets. Dd and I went. Dgs1 came for a quick hello and ate a whole punnet of brambles! Then he disappeared to play. Dgs2 played with his wee friends too. I had a blether with the Depute Head and then spoke to the staff. It was very enjoyable. In the afternoon and evening my feet were so painful that I resorted to painkillers. Dd brought back my KitchenAid and told me they had mice in their garage. Not a big surprise as it was full of stuff. Dsil has been clearing it out and discovered the mice. So traps have been ordered.
Today I am determined to get things done. I have let things slip while recuperating from cataract surgery but the bed will be stripped and the duvet cover changed, bathroom cleaned and windows too. I need a shopping done so a quick trip to Aldi is on the cards. I'm eating through everything in the freezer. Today I will have pea and ham soup for lunch then a mini steak pie for dinner. At least, those are my plans! I'm so easily put off these days. I hope you have a good day all

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

We are up and off after breakfast. We are watching DGD2 in Peter Pan and then going to see the progress made with their house renovations. Then we have a few days away.

Good morning from s somerset, very pleasant weather today

I slept like a log, wonderful and managed to naturally reduce my systolic, high from stress, by 40 points through the day, bp is now back to normal. I watched two episodes of home fires and did nothing else

Today I am cycling to the plot to do some weeding, which is grounding. Later some sewing as I am appreciating and already wearing the tops I made. Also tracking one dd on her extreme 86 mile cross country run from Tring to Avebury. Other dd has a mountain bike race and ds is back safe to Glasgow from his cycling cross country near Fort William

I did a great deal of chatting with all my siblings yesterday, that was lovely. I am leading the way with old age, there are still six of us siblings

Have a good day

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 31-May-25 06:55:12

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I had a quiet day yesterday after collecting a new carving tray from our nearest Lakeland.. While OH spent the afternoon at his shooting club I read a biography about Keith Richards. At some point I cooked a leftover dinner - chicken and pheasant fricassee.

Our daughter is coming today and will be staying until tomorrow afternoon. She hasn’t been home since Easter although I saw her in London a few weeks ago when she took me out to lunch.

At some point today, OH is taking a new Queen Bee to one of his hives. Apparently it’s quite a complicated process. At the movement the Queen and her attendants are in a special cage in the airing cupboard.

Have a good day everyone. I’m thinking of the FGT2S and MaryD.

harrigran Sat 31-May-25 06:56:42

Good morning from an overcast NE but with a forecast of 21 degrees for later.
Yesterday was a sunny day so I spent some time in the garden spraying the weeds and scrubbing clean the bird bath.
Not sure what I will do today, just see how I feel as the day progresses.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where another cool, showery day is forecast.

Yesterday I mainly pottered, laundry, some ironing, a little light housework, all whilst listening to an audio book.

A couple of our yarn group members are working across the water on the Isle of Arran for the summer season so today the rest of us are going over for a visit, I’m looking forward to it. The weather will be inclement though I’m well used to that having spent many soggy holidays and weekends there over the years. We will board the 10.50 ferry and be with them in plenty of time for lunch.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright corner of Somerset, sunshine in the forecast.

Yesterday was a bit if a fiasco. After a very early start for us the loft folk turned up, called ‘the boss’ then wouldn't do it, we we’re stunned as the loft had been surveyed and pronounced suitable. Of course we didn’t ask the right questions or insist on speaking to this man who said no. I wasn’t sure whether I was more cross with them or upset with myself for letting them get away with it.

The rest of the morning was spent putting what we could back with me fretting at the lifting Mr C was doing, passing things to me as I reached down from the loft hatch. A couple of things will have to wait until a son is passing by. After sending a strongly worded complaint asking for (demanding!) proper explanations and some lunch we headed to a garden centre where I was much cheered by the purchase of another rose, if less cheered by the traffic chaos caused by temporary traffic lights which took 40 minutes to navigate Residual frustration was eased by beginning to give the forsythia its annual haircut.

Today should be less fraught. We’ll head to the sea front after breakfast for a wander while it’s reasonably quiet, always soothing before picking up some bits in Waitrose. This afternoon the forsythia will I hope be finished and the new rose planted - I just have to work out where. Always room for a rose - somewhere.

Birthday wishes to your husband Susan, enjoy lunch

Have the best day you can everyone

Good morning from a cloudy spot in south Glos, a warm day ahead.
I enjoyed my morning at art group yesterday, only 6 of us, very relaxing and chatty.
I came home to find DH cooking lunch - I honestly couldn’t believe it, he never cooks!
Then I had a good couple of hours tidying, dusting, changing the bed, hanging washing out etc before retreating to my Shed.
A friend popped in for a chat and cup of tea so we sat in the Shed with tiddler (she’s my shadow)
I have a pile of ironing to do sometime but we’ll walk the dogs first before it gets too warm.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Hope it's as nice as it was yesterday.

Had a good trip into town, both errands accomplished. The jeweller was very obliging and furnished me with new tighter butterflies for my birthday ear-rings. I also found out the name of the stones in them - morganite, which is a member of the emerald family.
The optician was very helpful, but I need new lenses in my badly scratched sunglasses. I decided to keep the original frames as I love them and just replace the lenses. They will be to my latest prescription. I decided to give up on the insurance claim as.by the time I had paid the.excess I would.get very little, and it is simply not worth the trouble. I then had coffee and a Danish afterwards.

Called in M&S and Sainsbury's on the way home and did my top-up shop.

Am up earlier this morning as I have decided to have a jaunt on the bus to Rushden Lakes retail park; will be a pleasant day out as there is a lovely lake there with lots of wildlife, as well as the shops. Need to get a bus just after 9am. Will treat myself to lunch and 🍷 out......

Sad to hear that Loretta Swit,.who played Hotlips in M*A*S*H, has passed away at the age of 87; DH and I loved that programme She was just perfect in the part.

Wishing all a pleasant day in the sunshine.

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s cloudy at the moment, but quite mild out. Hopefully the cloud will break up soon and give us some sunshine. I went for a walk yesterday morning, met some friends and sat and chatted for a while. I sprayed weed killer on the driveway, I don’t like using it but can’t bend far enough to pull the weeds out by hand.
Bingo in the evening was quite poorly attended, three of my friends won small cash prizes, but the rest of us weren’t lucky this time.
I must do some gardening today, the tomato plants and salad leaf seedlings need to be transplanted. The milkman has left me two bags of compost so I can get started.
Not sure if either of my DDs will visit today, they’re usually busy on Saturdays with children’s activities. DD2 has been away all week so she’ll want to come over either today or tomorrow.
karma well done for reducing your blood pressure, and good luck to your DDs on their ultra marathon and extreme bike rides today.
llfl I hope the transfer of the queen bee is successful, I don’t think I’d want one in my airing cupboard, caged or otherwise!

It sounds like a busy day for everyone today, I hope it’s a good day for us all.

Grandmabatty Sat 31-May-25 07:34:18

Redcar I love that your milkman delivers compost as well as milk!

Good morning from the Algarve. Yesterday was so very hot but we had a good day and kept cool going in and out of the swimming pool. The little ones had a meet & greet experience with the dolphins.

Today we are going to Loule to the big Saturday market. The 11 year old is hoping she can get a hair braid! We will then return to the pool as another hot day is forecast.

Hoping everyone will enjoy a good weekend

GrannyGravy13 Sat 31-May-25 07:48:02

Good morning from an overcast but warm S E Essex.

I need to go to the post office to return a parcel and then pick up our fish order from the small independent shop down the road.

More sorting of clothes, then a BBQ later.

I hope your DH enjoys his birthday Susan56 🎂🎉🥂

Have a good Saturday 🙋‍♀️

Yesterday after stretch class I watered tubs and baskets, no rain in sight, then went for a walk before it got too warm. Must plant out some flowers and veg this morning, sowing more beetroot as I go.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Painting on silk yesterday then lunch and a nice time in the sun in the garden reading another Elizabeth Von Armin, the author of Enchanted April, which was made into a nice film.
On a practical note, bed changing and lots of washing.

Tonight into the city by train and son’s band is appearing, so will support that, probably the oldest rocker in the place😁
Psyching myself up for a run, must keep it up, particularly after finishing off a box of Magnums last night…

Birthday greetings Susan56 DH and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire where we are promised wall to wall sunshine. Yesterday was hit and miss weather wise. I worked in the garden weeding and moving plants around for two hours, ignoring the light rain which was quite soothing. I also went to the garden centre down the road to buy a new pot for a rose and some compost. SiL called on his way home to get them out of the boot for me and bring them into the back garden. It was nice to see him if only for ten minutes. He’s a good lad. I had a late walk up to the reed bed but there don’t seem to be any reed warblers this year, only busy biting insects! The hedgerows were heady with the scent of elderflower and wild dog roses. Worth getting bitten for!
Food shopping this morning, then lawn cutting and more weeding is on the agenda.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Happy birthday, Susan56🎂💐
