Good Morning Friday 6th June 2025

Oldies’ coffee morning and then going to the supermarket with my kind neighbour - no car for another week - so the day is planned. Dry at the moment but showers forecast and it’s more like April than June, but at least I am not having to water the garden.

Good morning. It is wet and chilly here in N. Bucks. As I wrote that the sun broke through but I doubt it will stay.
Later this morning a group of us are visiting a therapy centre and will have a talk about the work they do. Should be interesting.
Nothing else planned today so probably some cray work later.

Morning, dry when I got up, then rain, now sun, yesterday was very wet, so an indoors day.
Stretch class this morning, maybe an M&S foodhall visit for a voucher and flowers, Tesco delivery pm and pub tonight.
Great you’re going to the seaside Gingster it’ll really give you a boost and well done Ashcombe we take so much for granted until circumstances change don’t we.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Into the city by train last night for Mahler Symphony number 4, Strauss Don Juan and a new premier. Sat on the front row, which I love as feel part of the band. Nice to see old friend oboist again.
Train home cancelled once again entailing a longer wait. We hardly had cancellations before these new trains arrived.

Sister in the south had a birthday yesterday and we had an extremely long enjoyable FaceTime. She’s out in London with her family for a meal tonight.
Don’t overdo it Mick and thoughts to all.

Good morning everyone from damp and cloudy Lancashire.

Glad things have settled down Mick and you can get back into your usual routine.

The phlebotomist came yesterday and took my blood sample, now to wait for the results. They are usually available on line within a day or so. When there was a break in the clouds we took our usual walk down to the river. It’s not looking too promising today but we shall see.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny and dry after torrential rain yesterday. We went to The Christie to be told the main tumour is progressing but that chemotherapy treatment is still available.

It was a lengthy appointment and the upshot is Himself has consented to take part in a clinical trial but with evidence based treatment as well. We came home with multiple oral analgesics to tamp the pain down until his first cycle starts in three weeks’ time. So, we wait but have hope in our hearts and we are truly grateful for everything this hospital continue to do for us.

A very late Good Morning from N Bucks- up at 5.30 to let the dog out but collapsed back into bed and woke up after 9. We didn’t get back from London until just before 1 after a (fortunately) clear run up the M 1 but roadworks at my end meant a 15 minute detour.
The opera (Flying Dutchman, at Holland Park) was truly wonderful.
The girl who sang Senta - a Scot, Eleanor Dennis- had a voice which was out of this world and unlike so many Wagner heroines of the past was not built like a tank, but slim and young and totally convincing.
The set and production were stunning (of course) and D2 managed to come right across London in the interval to say hello and share some dessert and rosé with my friends whom she has known since she was 8 and me. To say I was a proud mum would be an understatement!
Do you ever feel you experience “golden moments” - times in your life which are truly memorable- maybe a christening, or a graduation or just a wonderful afternoon with a loved one perhaps looking at a beautiful view? Like the words of “This was my lovely day” ?
Last night was one of those.
FGT not perhaps what you wanted to hear at the Christie but so much better than your worst fears. To know that there is a plan should reassure you as I know you have every confidence in the amazing skill of your team there. Big girl pants on time as indeed for many of you - Marydoll thinking of you too.
Coffee calls if I am to stay awake so I’ll just wish you all a pleasant day.

We have a busy day, I am 70, my son is 45 and one of my grandsons is 5 ! we are having a pizza party tonight with my children and grandchildren 18 of us !

We decided to do something altogether as my YD is having a heart valve replacement some time in the next two weeks , she is top of the priority list and has a few more scans and tests to through , they were going to keep her in as she became very unwell this week, but she was so upset about missing her sons 5th birthday they allowed her to come home , the cardiologist said he just could not bear seeing how upset she was and as long as she promised to go straight back if she felt worse or anything changed . Yet again we have seen the NHS at its best , the last 7 days they have been
amazing .

We have gale force wind and heavy rain on the coast today , so much for flaming June .
