I like his smile
What medical conditions seem more common now than when you were growing up?
I've read that David Beckham is to receive a knighthood.
I'm in favour, as I think he has given quite a lot back to the country in different ways.
I like his smile
I did say I was wrong to feel the way I do about tattoos.
It is a personal dislike of mine.
He is a good man, doing lots of good things.
I completely agree about his tattoos.
He’s absolutely covered in the awful things, isn’t he?
I hate them generally though on anybody especially women.

Another Beckham fan and I'm pleased he's got his knighthood. I was impressed by him standing in line to pay his respect to the late Queen instead of trying to jump the queue, I thought it showed humility which is not a characteristic shown by many famous people these days.
Yes, I was impressed by that, too.
I am quite dependent on Carers, there is one lady tattoos on both arms , butterflies and flowers, I don’t like tattoos , she is
the gentlest, caring person , I felt so guilty for my thoughts
when I first met her
Mr Beckham seems like a decent man, a bit of a Social climber perhaps but theres nothing to intrinsically dislike about him.
I wonder if it will be arise Sir Alan Titchmarch soon though?
God help us!!!! 🤔
Oh! Have I made a boo-boo! Maybe Titchmarsh is already a knight of the realm? I have my idiot head -on today!! 😊

No English footballer has won the Ballon D'Or -
Old Frill
Bobby Charlton? If you mean Beckham never won the Ballon D'Or then you are right.
Pantglas was correcting my error, for which l apologise.
Yes, Beckham has only come second.
No relevance at all to his knighthood award.
I think it proves they give out honours to anybody. Have the people in charge forgotten how he threw his toys out of the pram with some dreadful remarks when he wasn't awarded a knighthood a couple of years ago. OK he does charity work and served his country as a sportsman but his true character was revealed when he wasn't recognised earlier, his comments then told how he'd been doing everything he could to get a knighthood not for any altruistic feelings.
I would argue that imo a far more deserving case would be Kevin Sinfield who has done so much for the MND cause but then he only captained a rugby league team not football!
I think there are more deserving people...people who save lives, lifeboat crews, firemen, hospital staff ,unpaid carers...

God help us!!!!
Why? What harm could it possibly do to any of us?
Alan Titchmarsh has a CBE which I believe is a step below a knighthood.
Ditto
Alan seems a kind man. Am I missing something
I don’t t think sports people or so called celebrities should have these honours as they do it for themselves not anyone else
I don’t know how true it is but I read a couple of years ago that Beckham doesn’t do anything unless there’s something in it for him and that he even took his expenses from a charity, I think it’s embarrassing the way he has sucked up to the royals for a knighthood

I 100% agree with you these self serving celebrities shouldn’t be getting them

He has certainly grovelled enough for it. Another over rated sportsman honoured.
Agreed. He’s certainly angled enough for it, plenty of brown-nosing to the royals. Not to mention (reportedly a few years ago) the angry effing and blinding over the phone because he didn’t get a K.
Plenty of people who work tirelessly for charity, with no reward, don’t get any recognition at all. I’m sure some of us know such people - I certainly do.
Still, now he’s got his K I hope he’ll have learnt not to say ‘we was’.
And if that makes me a snob, I honestly don’t care.

This and his services to football, sport, the olympics and charity.
I’m relieved to be once again in agreement with Anniebach 🌞
Iam yes same for me. Sports men/women have always been
given these honours , I admire them, they work so hard to achieve success, the training day after day
I know a number of people who deserve an honour far more than the Beckhams. My brother-in-law turned down a CBE because he hated anything to do with Empire (and the royals) also said he had just done his job to the best of his ability.

Absolutely, when so called celebs wouldn’t queue, there he was speaking to the public and waiting his turn.
I’ve always liked him and feel this is well deserved, I love his smile too!

It was widely reported (though not confirmed by KC himself) that Sinfield didn't get a knighthood last time round as his last award was less than 3 years ago, and he will get one when the secret protocol allows.
When he queued for 13 hours to pay his respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II while "Holly and Phil" were VIP'd through, I totally changed my mind about David. Well done to him!

100% agree with you he has grovelled with the royal family to get this can you imagine how she’s going to behave as Lady Beckham, both overrated in my opinion

Anniebach - we have bumped heads! Shame because we normally rub along nicely on here and I agree with a lot of what you say.
Can we start again?💐
Yes please Crossstitchfan , and again, sorry ,
You have nothing to be sorry for! You are one of the few people I look up to on here. 😘
What’s all the downer on Victoria Beckham ? She’s a hard working woman who has had at least two successful careers and raised 4 kids, kept on the straight and narrow as far as I can tell with drink - drugs and extra marital affairs (which is maybe more than can be said for her husband) as well as keeping a marriage going in the face of overwhelming pressure and supporting her husband when he went abroad for his football career. Give her a break ! . I have no positive opinion of the honours system but I guess he ‘deserves’ it as much as some people …
