Good morning from Malta where it’s already hot and the high is forecast at 36°C today.

I’m still on cloud nine after watching an incredible men’s final between Sinner and Alcaraz which lasted five and a half hours and had me on the edge of my seat. Fantastic!

I’m off to watch the boys as usual then this afternoon I’m meeting up with the daughter of one of my oldest friends who is in Malta for a few days as the firm she works for in London has an office here! It will be lovely to catch up.

Wishing you all a good day and some ☀️

Good morning from Shropshire.

A busy day ahead.Physio for DH first thing then straight over to Staffordshire. We will collect DGS1 from school later but will do some shopping first. The shops there have more choice than in our little town.

These procedures can take a bit of getting over Mick.

Enjoy your meet up Bellasnana.

Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Good morning from another grey day in Bristol. It would be so nice for the wind to die down so Ivan sit out, even if it’s grey…. And I feel that by June, we ought to have a few warmer days.
Yesterday was not a very good day, emotionally. I had what I call one of my “soggy days”, having been ambushed by grief. So I kept out of everyone’s way, not wishing to inflict my sadness on them.
I did make 22 pots of marmalade though!
Today, I have Tesco in the morning, then an empty afternoon. I’m on the home straight with the quilt and am very happy at how it looks.
I hope everyone had a good day/week. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a dull and breezy Torbay.

I hope things soon settle down for you, Mick following your CT scan.

Enjoy your catch up Bellasnana.

Yesterday morning, I didn’t feel like going out so missed church and had a day of indoor pottering. It had been a busy week, with commitments that had me up and out each morning.

I appreciated the kind comments about my progress which are encouraging. My appetite has returned with a vengeance and I was shocked to discover that I’ve gained more than half a stone over the last few months since leaving hospital. Until recently, I’d been enjoying Complan most days but have decided that it is no longer needed!

Hope this week is kind to everyone. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset, dull and cool all day

I made the 4th and last cushion yesterday morning and did some clearing in my garage, I have a soft floor in there, grey tiles like jigsaw pieces, they make a big difference to my comfort. I vacuumed in there and checked the food storage kept in a sideboard. It seems as though we are being advised to store tins

I got around to making my skirt during the afternoon, cut out a few weeks ago, 6 gored with a shaped waistband facing and zip. That style suits me and the fabric is barkcloth, which is cotton and warm enough for autumn and winter. The pattern is from brown paper patterns

Goodness knows what I am going to do today, there are always things to do, even if only basic house cleaning but I can add spinning and reading to that. I feel like making frozen cubes of salad dressing, a kind of pesto, as I have lots of rocket. I could do with another skirt, I might cut another as I have another length of barkcloth. They will be useful in a few months

DD is going to adopt a pony from a rescue centre, there are dozens of abandoned horses and ponies from the moors in S Wales. The males are left wild as stallions and the mares get pregnant.

The horse rescue is inundated. She is having a young 12 hands mare, one with a gentle kind eye. She said that lots of the mares are sour because of their past treatment and the stallions are often difficult because they were cut late. She is giving the rescue a lot of her horse items. Her new pony has had a foal at a young age. Pony needed a person with experience

Have a good day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. GrandMattie I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad day yesterday. 💐 Bellasnana have a nice catch up. Ash I never weigh myself but go by how tight my clothes are!
Yesterday I spent more at Aldi than anticipated. It is always this! I did buy the boys colouring books and a pink glittery plant pot. Dd called in with the boys and my KitchenAid. We had a couple of hours of drawing. Dgs1 helped me to weed the drive too. I made a very tasty chicken and leek pie for dinner. There's enough for tonight and I have frozen two portions.
Today I'm tired because I didn't sleep well. It happens regularly, however it's my early childcare day. I'll take the boys to school/nursery, then do an hour in the school library. Home to put on the dishwasher and potter. Then back to dgs2's nursery for a 'stay and play' session. His mum can't manage it. Back at my house, dgs1 wants to make peanut butter cookies today, so we'll do that. Later I'll take dgs1 to football training. So a relatively full day of childcare centred stuff. At least I have dinner sorted! Have a good day all.

Good morning all.

You were right Bella the tennis final was sensational. I could not believe some of the shots Alcaraz played in the final tiebreak. My DD1 and her DH are going to Wimbledon on the first Saturday. I’m very envious.

School pickup today and it will be macaroni cheese for DGD3. It’s the only thing she will eat here though on alternate weeks she had pizza. Her brother is far less fussy and enjoys curries now too.

DH has felt unwell all weekend with what’s probably a cold, aka as the worst manflu ever seen in a male. 🤨

Have a good Monday everyone.

whywhywhy Mon 09-Jun-25 06:32:33

Good morning from a grey midland.

I had a brilliant weekend with my youngest son and his partner. Miss him so much and cried after they had gone. The house bustled while they were here. Just me and DH.
A walk this morning and an empty afternoon ahead but I’ll find something to knit for charity.

Hugs to all suffering. Black dog days are rubbish. 🤗🤗🤗

RosesandLilac Mon 09-Jun-25 06:46:22

Good morning, it’s bright here but we’ve had rain overnight in south Glos.
Sending you hugs grandMattie and anyone else feeling down 🤗🤗
After walking bigger dog early I will take tiddler with me to collect her medication from the vets then we’ll go to Corsham Court for a long walk around the lake and parkland. It will be a nice change of scenery.
More garden bits this afternoon, I enjoy pootling around enjoying the flowers and watching the bees.
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from a very warm and sunny Lagos in the Algarve.

Arrived in Hotel around 7pm last night. Unpacked and showered then out for a quick meal. It was so hot we were sitting outside at 11pm with no coat!!

Relaxing day today. Photo is our view from our room.

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey and gloomy corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed some garden sorting yesterday. Sitting hand weeding was surprisingly relaxing. I could have done without the wind though, quite chilly. I’m struggling to stay cheerful, afraid the gloom is getting me down.

Dust removal this morning. Hopefully a couple of hours sit down before Chi-Me. The jury is out with us both about the class, it feels very crowded in the room. See how it goes.

Hope today is better grandmattie, thinking of all managing worry or sadness.

Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannyIvy Mon 09-Jun-25 07:09:24

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it looks very grey out there but should reach 19 degrees later. I am off for a walk with a friend this morning. We may pop into the garden centre for a coffee after. This afternoon I will do some further tidying in the garden and then to collect DGD2 from dance class. I am staying over at DD2’s tonight to look after the little ones as she has an unexpected night duty.

Have a good Monday everyone

Redcar Mon 09-Jun-25 07:11:53

Good morning everyone from a bright mid Essex, I think it may be a little milder today. I had a disturbed night last night, not sure why but I am concerned about the health of a friend. Yesterday I managed to stake and tie in my tomato plants, they’re looking a bit healthier after the rain. Also put a few plants into the front garden for some colour later in the summer, but I need to get more for other bare patches in the garden. I threw some seeds in a week or so ago and certainly something is growing there, hopefully some nice flowers!
I have to walk to the post office today, I need some more stamps. Otherwise nothing much planned.

Have the best day possible everyone, thinking of those in pain or distress for any reason.

RosieandherMaw Mon 09-Jun-25 07:13:15

Good morning from N Bucks where it is brightening up nicely.
Gardener due this morning so I’ve just done a quick recce of the lawn for Rosie’s calling cards and sprayed some weeds on the patio.
But it’s back to bed with a cuppa.
Had lovely if expensive day at (BlueSapphire knows this well) Beckworth Emporium yesterday, bought four thin cotton ‘big shirt’ style tops for this holiday in the S of France as they will be light, pack/roll easily and cover a multitude of sins.
I then hit the Cook! freezers and bought half a dozen ready meals and two cakes for my new garage freezer and some of their excellent value avocados and tomatoes. Oh and a couple of birthday presents and some more cards to add to my stash which was running low.
We had lunch there , shared a cake 😇😇 and talked non-stop.
I am so sorry to hear about your down day GrandMattie I too know these only too well and they invariably hit at the weekend. Never thought I’d say TGIM (Monday) !
With kind thoughts to all who are poorly, in pain or distress, here’s to another week 🥂 and all who sail in her! 🍾

luluaugust Mon 09-Jun-25 07:21:08

Good morning from a bright W Kent. The cleaner is coming this morning and then I have a bit of a drive to meet a friend at a NT house for tea and cake.
whywhywhy I know what you mean about parting but glad you had a great time
DGD2 has finished school for ever and DD2 said it makes her feel very old, goodness know what that makes me!
Best wishes to all

Greyduster Mon 09-Jun-25 07:41:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun hasn’t found its hat yet, but the wind has stopped blowing - hurrah! My son didn’t make it down yesterday; something got in the way, but we had a long chat in the evening. They are going away tomorrow. DD and the menfolk came over for an early lunch which I managed, for once, to time to perfection. They are also going away for a few days this week so I shall have to be extra careful that I don’t need any help while they are all away. Not sure what’s on my agenda today. I may take my camera over to the country park and see what the birds are doing.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 09-Jun-25 07:41:55

Morning all from a bright looking West Oxfordshire.

After yesterday’s extremely busy day (car Boot Sale selling honey, delicious lunch out and a brilliant Arts Festival), I thought today could be quieter. No. We have our cleaner and gardener this morning. I must do a Waitrose shop as the cupboard is nearly bare. After lunch my friend over the road has her monthly Craft Afternoon. We will make bead pictures.

OH will check on his bees at some point. He introduced a new Queen the other day. I’m relieved that he handed over the swarm he had captured to a friend who had lost his bees.

Have a good day. I hope it’s not too long before we can welcome back FGT2.

kittylester Mon 09-Jun-25 07:45:00

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

DH is still exhibiting signs of covid - rather like a bad cold. So, nothing much happening here today apart from me avoiding DH.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Mon 09-Jun-25 07:45:43

Good morning all and we’re back in Essex.

We had such a lovely weekend with our two boys, at our seaside retreat. They worked so hard and enjoyed their time together, gardening and clearing out sheds and taking ‘stuff’ to the tip. Ending up having a competitive game of Boules. A very tight match! 😉. Good humour and fun!
Dh was happy to sit and watch , pottering around and dead heading the roses. It’s so much better for him up there.

The weather was quite kind to us with just a few short showers, until they went to get fish and chips and the heavens opened with hail and thunder. Yesterday was chilly but fine.

So lovely to be back there enjoying the views and the sea air.
Hopefully be back soon 🙏.

A few sad grans on here this morning - GrandMattie 💐*Whywhywhy*💐, and others who aren’t feeling too grand 🙏.
I hope today is better for you. .

Take care and love to all.
Any news on FGT ?

Marydoll Mon 09-Jun-25 07:57:33

Good morning all, from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C, with showers predicted.

Ash, it has been suggested by my consultant, that I take nutrient drinks. The very thought makes me feel ill. Good to hear, you are making progress and they have helped.

Another busy day yesterday. However, I did not go down to church, to help clear up the aftermath of the fête, I was feeling rather weary.

Later, we drove to one of the villages in North Ayrshire for Dollie's dancing display.DD, DIL, DS1 and DS2 were there, as well as a fair number of people I know. My family always find it amusing, that I never fail to meet a familiar face --or more-.in the middle of nowhere!

The dancing school owner is a Scottish TV actor, who firmly believes in making her school accessible to all, talented or not. Her enthusiasm is infectious. It was hilarious watching the toddlers, with a mind of their own.
Both DD and I had tears rolling down our cheeks, we were so proud of Dollie.
No doubt this will be material for *Dollie's excellent impersonations of me. Apparently, she keeps her drama teacher ( a parishioner) entertained by her impression of me, sitting in the conservatory, cup of tea in hand and watching, Turkish love dramas. (Dollie's description, not mine.)

She will be here soon for her usual breakfast of Scotch pancakes. She was not amused the other day, to find out there were no raspberries. The culprit of course was Babydoll, who else?

Down to church to oversee the official counting of the fête money and check through, the unclaimed prizes. I also need to pin down the P,P about the stewarding of the funeral of a local. Dignitary, it will be so busy, the police will be directing traffic.

[Short interval and mad rush! Dollie has arrived early,😱]

Whywhy, your sweater was lovely, I know what you mean about those black dog days, hence my constant busyness. It stops me feeling sorry for myself, chronic ill health compounds that shadow, which is always sitting on your shoulder.

I wish you all a pleasant day. Kalu, I hope you are enjoying your break.
Best wishes to all, who are struggling. 💐

brook2704 Mon 09-Jun-25 07:58:40

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry bright start to the day
So pleased you managed to get away to your seaside retreat Gingster, I’m sure its does you all good
It’s the gym this morning for a couple of classes , there’s a strength class and then Zumba. After that probably a restorative cuppa somewhere and then home for some gardening this afternoon
Enjoy your well deserved holidays nannyJan and everyone away just now
gMattie 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

ginny Mon 09-Jun-25 08:26:46

Good morning from as Rosiesmaw says a brightening N. Bucks.
Around the house this morning and will put in the extra annuals that I bought to fill gaps in the garden.
WI sewing group this afternoon.
DHis out this evening for badminton so I have decided to treat myself to macaroni cheese for my dinner. Something he won’t eat.
Thoughts with all who are struggling with sadness or illness.
A good day wished for everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 09-Jun-25 08:34:30

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, going to be a fine dry day, so I think I might clean the garden furniture; there must be cobwebs and creepy-crawlies galore!

Another quiet day in yesterday, and caught up on lots of tv, mainly music programmes. I watched a Sky Arts film about Jacqueline Du Pre; what a genius talent, lost to us far too young, her young life ruined by MS.
I then watched Gareth Malone's Messiah, which I had recorded while I was on holiday, and then watched the entire performance, which had me in tears. I thought the contralto and baritone soloists were outstanding. it took me back to when I sang Messiah back in my 20s. I then watched another classical concert from Paris, which I enjoyed.

Cooked my mini gammon joint for dinner; enough leftovers for two more meals: ham, egg and chips tonight and a pea and ham soup tomorrow.

No yoga this morning as DS is coming down to set up my new printer - glad I've got dark chocolate biscuits in! I think I shall change the bedding and get it in the washing machine.

RosiesMaw, glad you had a good day at Beckworths! I haven't been since just after DH died. It's the other side of the county, and can't get there by public transport. However we do now have a garden centre 20 minutes walk from me, from the same chain - and they have the same range of clothes!
I think we need another day out in MK, especially with your French holiday coming up......

Wishing all a pleasant day

Grammaretto Mon 09-Jun-25 08:37:23

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Not raining yet which is good because the chairs and tables which were borrowed and left outside all night, have to be returned this morning.
We were lucky with the weather for our garden party and it went well though it wasn't really warm enough for Summer clothes!

Exercise class this morning and history group this afternoon.

I thought of you when I heard about that amazing tennis final Bellasnanna and hoped you had an uninterrupted view!

Sorry gMattie and whywhywhy
I hope today goes well for you both.

Have a good day everyone.
