Good morning from a bright Bristol.
It looks like we are to have the first proper summer day today, temperatures up to 20C, light breeze and sunshine. It will be lovely. (Though I don’t envy bellasnana’s high temperatures; I really can’t do over 25C)
Thank you for your praise over my quilt. Ie joy the sewing, but enjoy the mathematical puzzling of planning then assembling the quilts.
Today, I have FAB cafe, then my library book group in the afternoon. This month’s read was “Still Life”. I had read it before and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Try to find it. FGT2 would h love it.
Have a pleasant day, may your troubles be small or overcome-able.
Iris’ operation is re-planned for today. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s dry and quite bright here in south Glos so hopefully a sunny day ahead.
I spent yesterday morning having a good tidying session and doing the usual cleaning stuff so the house looks good at the moment 😊
I was shattered by lunchtime; five hours of nonstop activity was too much!
The washing all dried nicely, including the dogs’ blankets, and all put away apart from a few bits needing ironing.
I will take the dogs for our favourite walk from the next village this morning, maybe have a coffee stop before coming back.
Have a good day everyone 🌹

Good morning from Malta where it is hot and sunny. 21°C at present rising to 34°C.

Had a lovely day with the boys yesterday. I brought them to my house and got the paddling pool out for them so they had a lot of fun.

At 6pm my friend had asked me to meet as her sister is here on holiday so I walked up to the village, still very hot at that time but there was a breeze at least.

Really enjoyed our couple of hours chatting. Her sister is lovely and we hit it off right away. I thought it was so kind of my friend to invite me.

I’m off to the boys again this morning. They have nursery this afternoon so I won’t take them out as the heat is a challenge now.

Today would have been my DH’s 80th birthday. He didn’t quite make it to his 70th, bless him. I’m thankful for the many happy birthdays we shared together.

Wishing a good day to all and hoping Iris’s surgery will go without a hitch this time.🙏🏻☀️

Ashcombe Wed 11-Jun-25 05:50:57

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Depending on how I feel when I’m up, I might take the bus to the station so that I can book seats for our journey to and from Stafford later this month. I can’t do it online because we have staff passes. We can change at Stafford to go onto Crewe to visit my DD2 and family for DGD's annual dance show.

Thinking of Iris and hoping the operation goes ahead today.
A day of happy memories to recall, Bellasnana.

Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is going to be a warm one.

GS came yesterday and worked his socks off in my garden. He cut and edged the back lawn, weeded both flower beds and the rockery (they needed it) and cut the hedge. I pottered about telling him which were weeds and which were flowers. He only slipped up once! Then we set about finishing making a wooden edging for the new front bed I have made. We had a problem finding enough depth towards the top end where there was a piece of rock embedded and we couldn’t get it out, but my very kind neighbour brought out the most enormous crowbar I have ever seen and did the job for us.

I shall do some laundry this morning and then it’s writers group this afternoon at the library.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning everyone!
Your DH shared his birthday with my late Mum, Bellasnana. She would have been 87 today. Happy birthday to them both!
I'm about to get showered and ready for work. I'm all day in Reception Class today. They're a lovely bunch and I look forward to seeing them each week.
I've got some spare homegrown nasturtiums, cosmos and cornflowers so I'm taking them in to plant in the outdoor continuous provision area with them.
Hope Iris's operation goes to plan, grandMattie.
Hope everyone has a good day. 🌻

Grammaretto Wed 11-Jun-25 06:27:48

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's been light since 4am and should be warm and sunny.

I'm going to Pitlochry today by bus, meeting DD and we have tickets for the theatre. She will be dashing from taking the DC swimming and giving them tea. I'll stay at their's tonight.

All the best for Iris' operation ❤️ gMattie

Thinking of all with troubles or facing challenges. I hope FGT is OK.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

twiglet77 Wed 11-Jun-25 06:38:50

My younger DD is getting married today!

Endless blue sky and sunshine here on beautiful Rhodes, and later a strawberry full moon over the sea! The couple are joined by 21 family members (including 6 small children), and about 40 friends.

The family necklace I’d carefully untangled is still at home and the matching earrings don’t go with anything else. I’ve brought pearl earrings that my ex-husband gave me when this girl was a baby, I doubt he will remember them, but the only necklace I brought that might go with them is black and white freshwater pearls. It might work.

It will be a memorable Wednesday! wineflowerssunshine

Am expecting a very early visit from plumber to replace the incorrectly installed kitchen tap so am early, only to find so many people already up and doing.

Glorious morning and a lovely day forecast; singing this afternoon which always lifts my spirits. Hope today is kind to everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 11-Jun-25 06:44:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and sunny. Hooray! Grammaretto have a lovely time at Pitlochry. The theatre is so nice. GrandMattie fingers crossed for Iris.
Yesterday was busy at the start with the boys. I did very little during the day despite my best intentions (the road to hell and all that ) because I felt very tired. I did make boeuf bourgignone in the slow cooker and had some for dinner at night. I picked up the boys from school/nursery and they were very good. They had their usual snacks and got busy drawing again. I took them home and stayed with dgs2 til his daddy came home. That's the last childcare for the next two weeks because of the second cataract op on Friday.
Today I'm heading to the school library for an hour. Then I'm going to dds to wait for the arrival of a new mattress for dgs1's bed. It's a two hour slot. I expect I'll be there til the last gasp! I might have a look at Tesco's summer clothes afterwards and see if I can get a bargain. Cheap and cheerful! Dinner will be a portion of the boeuf bourgignone and I'll freeze the rest. Have a good day all

EkwaNimitee Wed 11-Jun-25 07:15:35

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where we expect another lovely day.
Yesterday, having stripped the beds and started the washer, I went out to mow my little lawn, it's still barely growing after the dry spell but keeps throwing up flowering stalks. Then I did a bit of dead-heading and weeding though the dryness is also keeping the weeds down thankfully. The afternoon was spent tidying bits and bobs away after my recent trip, and by re-reading an old novel.

Today, I'll finish off the laundry, get the vacuum out and then it's gardening. In between, I'll try to get the wretched plumber who's ignoring my voicemails and not getting back to me. I really, really loathe trying to get tradespeople to do anything.

Best wishes to Iris, I hope the op goes ahead this time and all goes well.

And have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny and calm so far this morning, a warm day is forecast. I went to the garden centre yesterday and bought a few plants for the front garden, I hope to be able to actually put them in the garden in the next few days. As I was unloading the car we had a short sharp shower which was unexpected! After that it was a lovely day. I saw my dementia friend in the afternoon, she was asleep but looked unhappy.
Today I need to walk to the postbox in the village to post a card which I suspect will arrive after my godson’s birthday.
grandmattie I hope Iris’s operation goes ahead today and is successful.
ashcombe I hope you feel well enough to get the bus this morning and arrange your tickets to Stafford.
twiglet enjoy your DD’s wd

Jaxjacky Wed 11-Jun-25 07:20:59

Morning from an overcast S Hants, my best wishes for Iris today, I hope her op goes ahead with no hitches.
Yesterday my obstinate ear was finally cleared of wax, I am a ‘super producer’ not a title I relish. Long chat with my friend who had a pacemaker fitted on Monday, amazing it only took 40 minutes.
Today I need to book an afternoon tea with my daughter, I won it in a raffle, another call needed to the Skoda garage, my sat nav is playing up.
Enjoy your day all, thoughts with the poorly and sad.

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
Sister and BIL are coming this afternoon and taking me shopping.
Highlight of my week having someone to talk to.
Thinking of FGT.
Have a good day everyone.

Kalu Wed 11-Jun-25 07:29:17

Good morning all. A very welcome sunny day in Perthshire this morning reaching a high of 20 deg.

Internet connection via Personal Hotspot was successful this morning.

The first day here was full of mixed emotions of sadness and happy memories and took a while until I felt more settled ready to get on with another new normal. Plenty to keep me busy here, I met up with a friend for lunch in Perth yesterday after which we visited a large garden centre where I bought some new heathers to plant up in the garden today. A drive to Crieff to visit family this afternoon to look forward to.

Hoping all goes smoothly for Iris GM and wishing her a speedy recovery.
A poignant day Bellasnana 💐
Enjoy your time in Pitlochry Grammaretto

Best wishes to all for a smooth, sunny day.

luluaugust Wed 11-Jun-25 07:29:33

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. A day of tea drinking, just as well after yesterday’s dashing around. It is a week of catch ups. An ex Tiller girl gave a talk at U3A which was very entertaining and got some members dancing although only she did a high kick.
Best wishes to Iris and have a wonderful day Twiglet

ginny Wed 11-Jun-25 07:31:16

Good morning everyone from a bright N.Bucks.
Good luck to Iris
Hope the wedding goes well Twiglet77.
Hairdressers for me this morning.
Materials to pack for craft club this afternoon.
This evening I’m off to the cinema with DDs 1&2. Mixed reviews on ‘The Salt Path’ so will be interesting. I have not read the book.
Hope today is a good one for all.

BlueSapphire Wed 11-Jun-25 07:34:13

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a fine and warm day forecast.

Yesterday was also lovely and I had a good walk with my group, managed nearly 12,000 steps yesterday, as I also walked home instead of getting the bus.

Must get my skates on this morning as I need to catch an early bus, as I'm going to Milton Keynes, where I shall meet the lovely RosiesMaw for a day of shopping, lunch (and 🍷) and lots of chat.

Wishing all a pleasant day in the lovely sunshine.

Gingster Wed 11-Jun-25 07:43:17

Good morning all and it’s forecast to be warm and sunny.

Yesterday was lovely meeting up with my two old school pals for a couple of hours. We won’t meet again until October, when we hope to gather some more school friends together.

Today I’ll pop up to the market in town , meet an old neighbour for coffee and buy some skate wings from the travelling fish monger.

Best wishes for Iris today .
And *Grandmabatty .

Take care all 🌼

Good morning from the Essex coast.
I'm home after a very busy few days in Leamington.
Yesterday late afternoon we had two family birthdays to celebrate, one aged 11 the other aged 70. Two beautiful cakes were made by 14 year old granddaughter.
We had a committee meeting in the evening. I was very tired when we got home.
DD2 has booked for her, DGD1 and I to go and see Les Mis next month. I've seen it before but it's one of my favourite shows.
I've a busy day ahead with lots of club admin, washing and housework.
My best wishes to Iris.
Have a great day everyone, best wishes to all xx

brook2704 Wed 11-Jun-25 07:44:20

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but a warm day ahead
Kalu 💐
I’m off to the gym this morning for a couple of dance type classes and then later looking forward to picking up DGD from school and her staying over tonight. DD2 has a very early start tomorrow so we’re happy to help out and DGS is still away enjoying his school trip
Congratulations to your DD twiglet, have a lovely day!
Enjoy Pitlochry Grammaretto and the theatre, a lovely place
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning a Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Little sleep, again, last night. A difficult pattern at the moment. Had a super two hours with our friends yesterday including a tasty lunch, before a fruitless search for two tops I want - notice want not need! It was a good day and definitely better for the wallet than anticipated

Our neighbours will be here for coffee this morning, we hope to head to the sea front after a quick lunch.

🤞 for iris.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday’s shift in the charity shop was hectic from start to finish, our donation pens are packed from floor to ceiling. I’m actually glad not to be the one responsible for sorting it all.

We’re off to Edinburgh for our childminding stint today.

Good luck to Iris today.

Enjoy your daughter’s wedding Twiglet, and Kalu, have a lovely break in beautiful Perthshire.

Wishing everyone a good day.
