Camilla looked furious at Trooping the Colour

I watched The Trooping of the Colour yesterday, and was surprised to see how furious Queen Camilla looked. Used to seeing her smiling and happy, I was concerned about her.
Maybe she isn’t well, maybe she and the king had a disagreement? Whatever the reason, she is a public figure and needs to keep her feelings private. In all the years she was our Queen, the only time I ever saw Queen Elizabeth looking less than composed and happy was in 1952. She was told her beloved father had died and there was a photo of her with a single tear rolling down her cheek.
Camilla needs to follow her example.

I think Camilla was trying to hold onto her hat which was in danger of being blown off. The kids looked like they’d stepped out of the 1950s and Kate looked like Joan Collins from the 80s
Got to say I agree vegansrock except I think Joan Collins would have had big shoulder pads 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t mind any of them but resent the money they all get when the country is sinking Buck palace could house the whole of londons homeless I would think… now that’s an idea wouldn’t I respect them if they gave up some wealth to help the country or the world yes I would

Like I said earlier on, I don't to think Camilla looked furious just bothered. Something was bothering her, we've all been there.

Her feet? New shoes?

Both?
Tbf the late Queen often looked cross at events but hard to hold a smile for a long time anyway.

I painted my garden fence yesterday. I thought it was blue but now it's dried it's turquoise!!

Luckily it's my back garden and no one can see it...

Will Camilla like it if she visits?😁

I found the Princess of Wales' support for Reform rather odd.

😂
I'm laughing because that must have been meant as a joke!

Timeless, not dated.
I agree.

As for remarks about the colour, well, I was (almost!) speechless!

I watched the whole thing avidly and honestly didn't notice any of the things mentioned above. I just thought it was wonderful.
But that's me. I'd never make a good detective grin

“Timeless” - no such thing in fashion terms. Even the RF move on , albeit slowly, look at what Queen Victoria’s children wore and the RF in the 20s. Not the same. The current crop have got stuck in the 50s. The P o W is an attractive women no doubt, but the formal stuff looks like it was borrowed from the set of Dynasty.

Agree about the hat, but nothing else.

IMHO, the children looked exactly like I would expect to see the grandchildren of the Monarch dressed when they were attending a major, traditional Royal event.

Smart suits, shirts, ties for the boys. A simple but nonetheless beautiful dress and shoes for Charlotte, immaculate hair.

What do you think she should have worn? A mini skirt, crop top and Doc Martens?

We see them in jeans, shorts, teeshirts, trainers …when they are at a casual event or playing at home.

As for Catherine…elegant as always, many comments have likened what she wore to a similar outfit worn by Diana at a past trooping the colour.

Timeless, not dated.

Spot on.

I know what you mean but I think she just has one of those faces. I’m often told to “cheer up it may never happen “, it’s very waring.

Although I'm not a royalist.
I do rather like Camilla. I think that the camera simply caught her at the wrong moment. I know I've got some truly terrible photos where I've been snapped unexpectedly & I look like an angry, ratty shrew! Which quite frankly is not very far from the truth. 🥴

Me too, Ilovedogs22. When I frown, I'm more likely to be concentrating and thinking hard.

I've got this "thinking" line.

Poor Camilla, not allowed a normal human expression, that's asking too much.

I agree calandergirl I ve googled it and didn’t think Charles looked sad or frail or Camilla cross I thought they all looked fine Charles was talking to Camilla a lot on the balcony
Just all looked normal for their age and health problems

After reading some of these comments, I have just rewatched the balcony scene.

I think I was watching a different TTC to some GN’ers.

Certainly didn’t think Charles looked frail or ill, and Camilla, to me, didn’t look distracted or miserable.

They both looked to enjoy the fly past, happy to see the GC engaged with it all, and didn’t look to dash back in at the end.

And he didn’t look to be tearful either.

hmm

He is an emotional man.

I expect world events have upset him, if he did look upset.
However, I didn't see it so can't express an opinion on Trooping the Colour.

Crossstichfan if you still want to move your thread from Pets just report the thread and ask GN to move it to Chat, possibly?

The dog was furious, too, when he visited today.
He was so cross he didn't speak to me until I promised not to go on Gransnet again.

Ps don't tell him!

What!!! Dear me, how people can make something out of nothing never ceases to amaze me.

Exactly, like Camilla bring furious. Both suggestions utter tosh!

It defies belief sometimes the rubbish that people post 🤦🏼‍♀️

😂😂😂

I'm furious that such rubbish is posted!!

They all looked fine to me. Right at the end Charles looked a bit tired but he’s a few years older than me so it’s natural. Camilla looked fine to me. I think some people are projecting!

Louis was on his best behaviour though he and George had a little giggle together at one point.

At least the trooping of the colour was much more successful than Trump’s military parade disaster. What was he thinking?

I said to Dh that I thought Camilla has looked very serious on recent events. Different to how she used to be , smiling and looking happy

That’s EXACTLY what I was saying. She didn’t look at all happy and did, at one point, look very cross. I hope she is ok.

You have every right to disagree with me, as I sometimes do with you. However, I resent you calling my comment ‘utter tosh’ and think you were extremely rude to say that. Please be a little more polite.
