Good morning from s somerset, sunny and hot today

Heat will be building so I am up early with all windows open, to cool the house

Yesterday did not go according to plan but was very satisfying, the greenhouse glass arrived and I fixed the greenhouse. Went to the allotment after making more ballast bags and finished my dress.

The dress is lovely on, cool and lightweight and skims my hips. Alterations were to lower the bust dart by 1" and grading out from below the bust from 12 to 14, Canadian sizing. A very easy satisfying make. I will be making the top from the leftover fabric. A bargain £6 for top plus dress, satin viscose, slippery to work with. I will be wearing it today

I will closing blinds and shutters soon, pre-empting the sun and staying indoors. I need to get my paperwork file sorted today, have not done it for a year and I will make my top

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where a cooler 34°C is the high for today. We are expecting rain tomorrow and Friday. Typical when I’ve just cleaned my car!

Had fun with the boys yesterday. Brought them to my place and they had a great time in the paddling pool. They seem to enjoy filling up watering cans and emptying most of the water out. My plants will be killed by kindness I think!

It was too hot to be outside by noon so we came in and spent a happy few hours reading and playing with my son’s old train set and Playmobil toys.

They were as good as gold so I enjoyed their company very much.

After their mum picked them up I cleared the chaos and was in time to watch some tennis.

Today they have nursery in the afternoon so we won’t be going anywhere this morning.

Still no news from Kent as to when my BiL’s funeral will take place.

My condolences to Harris and Harrigran. May your departed loved ones rest in peace. 💐

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Good morning from a sunny Bristol. The wind seems to have died down a bit, which will be nice.
I had @ busy day yesterday, making my 3 ingredient brownies and some seeded digestive look alike. The latter recipe said the dough would make 20-24 biscuits. Ha! I made about 60!
DS came round and after a cup of tea, he decided to take me to a garden centre the other side of the bridge. We travelled less than 1/2 through the village when he decided (at my prompting) that the local garden shop would do. After all, all unwanted was some compost and some edging…. While there, we went into a charity shop and got him a replacement laptop bag.
We dug a good area round the little damson tree I have, put the edging and gave it 5cans of water. It’s not easy to get to; there are high pyracantha hedges, and I have to go through the communal hallway…. Looks lovely.
DS told me that Iris has been going to school, mostly in her wheelchair and coming home very happy. Good girl.
Today is my busy day. Morning prayers, FAB cafe, then a quick lunch before I help at the annual Ladies’ guild afternoon tea. Most of the members are very frail and/or not especially mobile.
Have a happy day one and all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a bright, sunny Torbay.

DH arrived safely after a perfect journey. Despite tiredness, he is happy to be up soon so we can shop in Lidl before it’s too hot or too crowded. Wednesday Club then Front of House duty for us both tonight for Noises Off, our current production.

Condolences to our bereaved grans. Funerals seem to take a while to be organised here, Bellasnana. A difficult time.

The best news about ,*Iris*, grandMattie and lovely to have time with your DS.

Keep cool, if you can! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning everyone from a misty Lancashire.
About to get showered and dressed ready for work. I was booked for the morning but have been asked to stay all day, so I need a packed lunch too.

Got lots of pots and planters potted up yesterday afternoon, including a couple to pass onto friends. I've still got some seedlings to plant out in the beds, but they need to get a bit bigger so could wait.

Wishing you all a good day. 🌻

Good Morning from Durham. A cloudy day is forecast with a maximum of 21 - not exactly a heatwave here.
Men are arriving at 8.30 with replacement window units for the conservatory. It’s south facing and units fail every year because of the extremes of temperature. I’ve ignored them for 3 years, so a lot are to be replaced today. An expensive job, but it looks unsightly.
I’ve a friend calling for coffee mid-morning - with Little Dog, we’ll lock ourselves away in the family room and ignore the mayhem.

Hopefully DD1’s car is fixed properly this time. Touch and go, but I got her to the garage to collect it, just before closing. DD2 continues to have a wonderful holiday. DGS2 has discovered the Kids Club and absolutely loves it.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a sunny hillside in south Glos, off for dog walks soon.
A quiet day yesterday, I enjoyed more drawing and spent most of the day in my Shed.
Today more of the same after taking the dogs out individually.
I have salads for lunch every day this week, quick and easy and delicious 😋
My car passed its MOT yesterday, no problems- I do such a low mileage it’s hardly worth having but the public transport here is abysmal, so it’s a necessity unfortunately.

Sending best wishes 🌹

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where are in for another hot sunny day😩! I changed the quilt on my bed to a 4 tog last night and it was a tad more comfortable. DS phoned last night to let me know they are back from their holiday. He will come down on Saturday to spend the day with me. After that they are starting on a large redecorating project so his weekends will not be his own for a while.
I am off to the gym shortly while it’s still cool enough to get in the car and then it is writers group this afternoon at the library.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Shropshire.Warm and sunny.

A good visit with mum yesterday. She was sitting holding my hand, there was a singing activity going on and mum opened her eyes, smiled at me and sang quietly but beautifully☺️we had a lovely chat with the chaplain who said mum had been telling him about her teaching days when he visited her yesterday.Last week we were told to expect a phone call and this week she was frail but engaging with us.

A day at home today. No plans but always things to do and books to read.

Good to hear Iris is doing so well.🦩

I hope Marydoll is doing ok 🙏🏻

My condolences to Harris and Harrigran🥀

Wishing everyone a good day🌻

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, dry, warm and sunny again, I must water more of the garden soon, some of the established plants are flagging.
I went for my usual walk yesterday, but my back was very achy all day, so I didn’t do much. Did some ironing, then visited my dementia friend. She said “hello” to me,but I doubt she knew who I was.
Phone calls from both DDs in the evening, which was nice.
Not much planned for today, will take it easy in the sunshine.
grandmattie good that Iris is back at school, some normality for her! georgesgran I hope the window replacement isn’t too chaotic, at least it’s a dry day for it.
ash good that your DH had an easy journey yesterday, a busy day today for you both! bellasnana a paddling pool sounds great fun for your grandsons, I’m quite tempted to get one for myself!
Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. I am joining my U3A art group this morning to paint watercolours of a newly reopened mill. Not sure how long we will want to sit outside. Later I am having tea with a friend.

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside.
I’d rather be still in bed but I have an appointment at 9 am. Depending how I feel after I may run a few errands.

Have a good day all 👒on ☀️

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Music club yesterday, once again in small room as main lounge has been damaged by a car backing into it…
I didn’t sing particularly well for some reason and didn’t enjoy the session. Just one of those days.

Usual lunchtime recital and I must fix up my holiday insurance for upcoming trip.
Hope you all have the best day you can🌺

Good morning all and another warm day on the cards

Dh is breakfasting with his pals today and I’m going to RHS Hyde Hall with a friend.
I can’t find my blooming membership card but our details will be on computer. I’m taking my friend as a guest.
It will be hot there but there’s plenty of shade.

Lovely for you to spend the day with your son GM . I expect he will be busy while he’s ‘home’.
Nice for Iris to be back to school and happy.

Glad Oldudders is back with you Ash. Enjoy your time together.

Take care and enjoy the day, the best you can. 🌼

Good morning Mick and All from a very hot South Bucks.

Yesterday I was the Bingo Caller at my WI then we had strawberries and cream, followed by homemade shortcake and buns, delicious.

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

It was a busy day in the charity shop yesterday, we’ve had some fabulous donations and some items were barely making it onto the rails before being snapped up.

My yarn group was cancelled again as so many people were on holiday, there are only a dozen of us, mostly retired and the caravanners are taking advantage of good weather.

Childminding in Edinburgh this afternoon, we may go to the beach for ice cream after school.

Have the best day possible everyone.

merlotgran Wed 18-Jun-25 07:41:38

Good morning, all from a sunny south coast. The boiler service man is booked from 8am till 1pm which means I’ll be pottering about waiting for the text saying he’s about ten minutes away. I was hoping to get some jobs done outside before it gets too hot.

Hope everyone has a good day.

brook2704 Wed 18-Jun-25 07:41:42

EkwaNimitee Wed 18-Jun-25 07:46:51

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.
Yesterday I went on my planned visit to a different garden centre, the rain gradually clearing up. It got quite busy there but not many of us were looking at plants...lots in the cafe supping coffee and feeding their faces! As did I initially, concluding that their cherry scones weren't quite as good as the ones I'd recently made. I got the plants I needed to fill gaps but not necessarily the species I had in mind. I was quite strict with myself as my current garden is small, no longer can I fancy an unplanned plant and tell myself 'it will fit in somewhere'.
After lunch, some of those purchases got planted, not the ones needing the hacking of holes though! And I got a date with a plumber, one I've used before and not a Carlisle guy.

Today, the cleaning of bathrooms, maybe some bread making and some boring admin.

Wishing you all a good day if possible.

Good morning from a sunny midland where it’s warm already.

Having a walk and meeting an ex neighbour. I feel apprehensive but it should be ok.

Hugs to all suffering. 🤗🤗🤗

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset

I’ve some ironing to do and will be sorting that shortly, a grocery delivery will arrive mid morning. Perhaps a trundle on the bus to the sea front after lunch, hayfever is better there. Our constant breeze is very welcome at the moment

My condolences to harris and harrigran.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 18-Jun-25 07:59:28

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It’s going to be hot again.

OH and I enjoyed the pottery class night. I managed to throw a pot that was neither wobbly nor misshapen! We will be glazing everything next week.

OH is having a cortisone injection into his other knee this morning. Then it is the monthly U3A lunch at a venue which is new to us.

WI tonight. It should be fun.

I’m thinking of MaryD and the FGT2S. Also those who have been sadly bereaved.

ginny Wed 18-Jun-25 08:01:35

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks. I am loving this weather

Yesterday’s visit to my Sister in Law was worrying. My nephew who has various mental and medical problems has not been contactable for the last week. We went to his flat and it was obvious that he had not been there for a few days. Investigations are underway. Since my brother died last Christmas she has had so many problems. Wish we could do more to help.

This afternoon I am going to Delapre Abbey with a group from WI. A guided tour and then refreshments . There are also nice grounds to enjoy.

Wishing all a good day especially those with problems or worries of any kind..

Grammaretto Wed 18-Jun-25 08:04:16

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is going to be another warm day.

Yesterday I did an extra 3 hour shift at the Storehouse, preceded by a long chat with my prospective house buyer and followed by the last Gaelic class of term. Everyone was talking of holidays in Gaelic ofcourse 😆

Today should be less hectic. Just yarn group and community lunch.

Well done Karmalady. A lovely dress, so quickly made.

I hope today goes well for all of you.
