I love this lovely warm weather so gorgeous being able to be in the garden all day long may it continue. I find it relaxing watering all my lovely plants.

Whethertomorrow

I like the sunshine part but the heat is horrible. The barometer on my patio doors showed 39 degrees yesterday afternoon. Far too hot. I pity my children who have to work in this heat.

I agree.
It may be ok for those who are retired and can potter about in the garden and then into the house for shade and sit about with a cold drink, but spare a thought for those of us who have to work, then go home and get on with household chores shopping and cooking and a bit of childcare thrown in!
Especially here in the South East.

Love it too. I was born in July Ian a spring/summer person I hate the winter and wearing heavy clothes. Shorts and vest tops for me at the moment although I can’t wear shorts to work.

We have such short summers enjoy it whilst you can. I can’t sit in full sun in the middle of the day but otherwise bring it on

Kate1949 Fri 20-Jun-25 23:06:01

We get so little of it, I'm determined to make the most of it and I'm not really a hot weather person.

henetha Fri 20-Jun-25 23:13:47

It is nice to be in short sleeves and cotton shorts again, although must admit I don't like it toooo hot.
But, yes, the sunshine cheers us up and is better than our long miserable winters.

Love it, love it, love it!
Up early, watering the garden in my pjs, any boring chores done before lunch, lazy afternoons and meeting up with friends.
Wimbledon, Glasto, the Proms.
Even if it cools down next week the evenings will still be light and my skin will still be tanned.

I hate winter.

It's lovely to wake up in the morning to sunshine, I love it ,can't sit out in it like I used to but it makes you feel happy, we just don't get it for long...

Fidelity2 Fri 20-Jun-25 23:37:44

Bring back the cooler weather .My forehead is constantly wet with sweat ! My garden borders are so dry and I have newly set seeds and border plants. I have a watering ca can but endless tracks to the outdoor tap is so tiring.

Tell you what, you can have our cold weather. Swap. One good thing is it is usually bright sun everyday just now ( we have a drought) but it is decidedly chilly. I do feel sorry for the gamers, it never seems to rain.

nanna8 Sat 21-Jun-25 00:57:34

gamers= farmers

BlueBelle Sat 21-Jun-25 04:12:15

fidelity you’re on the wrong thread this is for sun lovers 🌞You have lots of ‘moaning about the sun’ threads going on at the moment This one is for the sun lovers 😎🌞

No thanks Nanna8 we have plenty of cold weather 10 months of the year, this is our little celebration

I feel free of clothes, of hot water bottles, of shivering and I m happy 🥳👹

grandMattie Sat 21-Jun-25 04:53:34

I love summer for all sorts of reasons but…. I dislike the intense heat of the last few days.
I also find the sudden change from high teens to 30s overnight hard to deal with.
And, Bluebell, I have changed from hot water bottles to the selfsame bottles but frozen!

escaped Sat 21-Jun-25 06:18:03

I read this thread title as going to be about holiday romances, - summer loves from bygone years!
Anyway, I enjoy the sun and everything it brings. People usually seem happier, more relaxed, or flopped out.

BlueBelle Sat 21-Jun-25 06:36:06

Well we can have it about lovers too escaped if you want🤣🤣

I m so warm and comfortable so relaxed and happy
Even on days I work I still love to see it warm and sunny people smile more, wear brighter clothes, seem so much lighter… in winter or cold days we hunker down heads on our chests bundled up in warm clothes just our noses showing
Only words said to others is ‘ oh isn’t it cold/ wet/ stormy whatever !
I just throw all my troubles off when the sun is warm whatever my problems I can manage them if it’s bright and warm

I know I was dropped down in the wrong country 🤣🤣

Happy day to every sun lover and commiserations to you coldies you ll soon be happy again in a few days I m sure

Argymargy 🙋‍♀️ I couldn’t find an emoji with less clothes on 🤣

Love the sun and the light, just wish it was a cold sparkling Februury weekend that accompanied it.

I might enjoy it more if we were not in the middle of a house move so have a lot of packing to do interlaced with trips to the tip, gathering up garden ornaments, emptying earth out etc. DH suffers from heart failure and I am having to make sure he stays indoors, keeps cool and doesn't over strarn himself.

Astitchintime Sat 21-Jun-25 08:06:01

I like the sunnier weather although growing vegetables and fruit can be a challenge when the reserves are low in the water butts.

It is alarming to see dog walkers out during a blistering afternoon though……this happens regularly near me.

And I do get a bit concerned about our elderly neighbours who insist on going out every day for absolutely no reason whatsoever (not for appointments or shopping) and then coming back hours later almost collapsing from heat stroke. They refuse advice to take water with them insisting that they’ll ‘go to a cafe for a coffee’ for their usual ‘elevenses’ if they find one.

TerriBull Sat 21-Jun-25 08:09:17

I do love the sun and the light it's such a feel good factor, the winter goes on for what seems like far too long, I hate grey miserable days. Just a couple of personal gripes, my feet become swollen in the heat, it's supposed to reach 34 degrees today, I'm taking a bucket of cold water out to the garden to stick them ingrin and boy do midges or whatever they are like me, I have quite a few bites, my husband doesn't have any far too sour it would seem.

Having said that I do love the feeling that summer has well and truly arrived, please stay good weather, off to Devon shortly, mid twenties will do for me.

Iam64 Sat 21-Jun-25 08:11:04

Yes it’s great to see the sun and blue skies. AF means I struggle in hot temps so I’m indoors with a fan, rather than working on my garden , or reading in the shade 🌞

keepingquiet Sat 21-Jun-25 08:17:14

I love it too. I went shopping in the evening and how lovely to walk out of the cold supermarket into the warm air. It was like taking a warm air-bath!

The down side is I have had the worst hay fever ever and so have to stay in during the day!

MiniMoon Sat 21-Jun-25 08:28:41

I'm loving it too. Can finally wear my pretty dresses and linen trousers with floaty tops. Today I've got my outdoor oven going, I'm smoking a pork shoulder for lunch. Pulled pork with buns and salads.
I hope it lasts into the beginning of next week we are having a few days away in Shropshire. 🤞
