As the earring has happily been found any ideas on where remote control could be? Usually on arm of the sofa or table between 2 sofas. Looked under the table and had sofas out poked down sides. Any ideas?

What's the Saint Anthony prayer?

Allira Sun 22-Jun-25 22:22:32

Dear St Anthony, full of grace
Lead me to its hiding place

What's the Saint Anthony prayer?

My Mum was Irish Catholic and she always said a prayer to St Anthony if we lost anything. He never let us down! He is the patron saint of lost things.

Thank you!

It's hidden in the same place as our key ....

Let me know when you find them!

And my favourite pen and my silver bracelet.

My niece couldn’t find their remote until it was discovered in their daughter’s dolls house nicely made up into a bed for
the doll.

If you have schoolchildren look in their school bags that’s where I found mine

We once found out under the cat who was smugly settled on it with her fluffy coat out all round her. Another time we found her engulfing a set of house keys. She obviously wanted us to spend time with her instead of watching TV or going out.

Ours not out!

In the dog's bed ?

I was going to ask if you have a dog, cat or young grandchild? If so look in their bed/cot/toy box.

Many years ago both our TV and video remote controls were nowhere to be found.
Eventually I heard them, clanking around in the washing machine which was mid-cycle and couldn't be stopped.
Youngest child had put them in there and I hadn't noticed when I put the clothes in.
They did survive, surprisingly, though they took two weeks to dry out and gradually come back to life!

My mum with dementia I am afraid puts hers in the peg bag!

Shirls52000 Tue 24-Jun-25 14:00:30

Kitchen drawer, handbag, toilet, dressing table??

Shirls52000 Tue 24-Jun-25 14:02:24

Apologies, have just seen that you ve found it 👍🏻

AuntieE Tue 24-Jun-25 14:14:52

Could you have had it in your hand when you went to answer the door or your phone? Or dashed into kitchen to remove a pot that was boiling over.

If when you find it, it is accompanied by two keys you have never seen before on a yellow plastic key ring, and a pair of sun-glasses suiting my astigmatismns, could you send them along, please?

As my DH commented that whatever he was watching was rubbish and switched the TV off our youngest DGD promptly took the tv remote and deposited it in the bin. We both laughed and said she was taking after our DD, who used to put her shoes in the bin if they were dirty. So if anything goes missing it’s the first place we look.

Why don't people read ALL of the replies, it's been found!

Notthecatsmother Tue 24-Jun-25 14:52:41

We have a box to keep the remote controls in. It lives on the table.

DollyRocker Tue 24-Jun-25 15:00:11

Ah I was going to say right under the sofa, kicked towards the back.

Mine is always kept in a drawer beside my chair, because if I don't keep it safe the dog steals it to annoy me. Sometimes he jumps up as if to steal something /anything off the dining table, then when I go to stop him he jumps into my chair and sticks his nose in the slightly open drawer, to steal his real target, the remote!
