Santander was the pits today !
The early release scheme it's a gimmick and helps no-one but criminals. Just build more prisons.

I put my hands up to having no interest in tennis but have just seen in the Radio Times that almost every day this week Wimbledon is on BBC 1 from 2pm until 6pm and then after a break for the news, it is on from 7pm until 10pm. I think on one day there's a break for the Euros. When BBC 1 don't have it on, BBC 2 has it. Might I be forgiven for seeing this as a slight overload so early in the tournament? Putting my hard hat on now!

My god what a yawn fest
Why is Wimbledon on 2 channels at the same time. I can't understand where the sport comes in. 2 people hitting a ball back and forth across a net for hours daily is bad enough and boring enough but to show it on 2 channels, prime time, all day and not only that but my license fee is paying for those channels, it just makes my blood boil. Its high time this was moved to a "sports" channel where viewers who wanted to watch could waste their time if they wanted to without bothering the rest of the fee payers who are more discerning
If it’s not Wimbledon it’s football, or Glastonbury. Overkill.
I think there should be a dedicated BBC channel for sport.
Some people rely on their routine programmes and don’t like to keep channel scrolling to find something palatable.
I like some tennis but you're right it's ridiculous to have both BBC channels saturated with those mostly boring
bored? commentators asking each other if they remembered their first time on centre court.....
Whoever is responsible for scheduling, listen up!
Best 2 weeks of television of the the year!
Worth every penny of my licence fee!
You’ll be ecstatic to know there’s football on BBC1 this evening, tennis on 2.
As many have added.
Wimbledon is only for 2 weeks and one should be proud that we have such a match that has always been so popular with n the players. While football is on tv practically the whole year
of the year while those that aren’t interested in football is practically the whole year,

I love itbut I feel for people that don't. It's like Premier League Football, takes over everything! Ive always said BBC should get rid of BBC 3 or 4 and have a BBC sport channel!
Yes, I think so too.
Use the little-watched BBC3 as a dedicated sports channel. Of course, BBC would then have to produce more programmes, wouldn't they!
Not BBC4, it does have some interesting programmes.
I grumble about all the football and how other programmes are re-scheduled to accommodate matches but have to admit I really love watching the tennis.
I’m m totally with those who are fed up with the BBC being so dominated by sport. Great idea for them to have a pay channel for sports and actually give the rest of us, who don’t enjoy the endless hours given over to whatever size and shape of ball is considered interesting to chase that week, something vaguely interesting to watch.
Yes, there are other channels- with endless advertising and repeats. Unfortunately I am in an area where internet tv (so any catch up, I player and most of the “free to view “ channels) go down around three times an hour, usually just after the adverts. The adverts then repeat, if I manage get the telly box to re- connect without going down again. It’s wearing. It happens with whatever provider I have used.
Over half the year just I turn off. I’d do without but in the winter it’s bleak and lonely without something to do whilst knitting in the long dark evenings.

It's about time that the BBC had a dedicated channel for sport. I've a good mind to ask for a refund!
They spend a lot on sport don't they? Maybe the BBC should introduce their first Pay channel for sport, they can hardly claim it's necessary as public information, which is presumably why we are still paying the licence fee.
Sorry, mistype "...any other matches".
I'd love to know what proportion of the BBC licence payers in the population are interested in Wimbledon now. I think they may have turned into a minority over the past few years, though once there was a lot of interest.
There do seem to be a lot of hours given over to it in recent years, maybe fans have simply overdosed and lost interest!
I'll probably watch at least one of the finals, but won't bother with anything other matches.
I’m with you completely on this !. It’s the annual wimblebore where all you see are z list celebrities sat at centre court!.The tv is switched off .
Sorry!! Rant over.
I think this total immersion is appalling.
The overload of Glastonbury so TV was off and now Wimbledon. Fine, yes I can switch off BUT I am forced to pay for this lack of varied programming.
The alternative of old episodes of the Good Life is particularly galling as the BBC seems unable to invest in new comedy dramas.

It’s about time that the BBC had a dedicated sports channel with its own red button so that those of us with no interest in sport can enjoy normal programming.

Hi
I’m a tennis fan but the BBC is a disgrace! Absolutely no choice if you don’t want to watch tennis!
The commentary is disgraceful!
Just a load of waffling! Yes I know I can turn the sound off but why should I have to!
Total tennis overload and even in the evenings it’s only junk tv!
Thank goodness for Netflix and U👍
Presumably if you can get Netflix you can also get BBC iPlayer. A complete treasure trove of fantastic programmes of all shapes and sizes.

I was amazed at how much Wimbledon is scheduled... and I love watching it!
Over and above BBC 1 and 2 player gas loads of matches ... I am loving it!!!
Me too!!

It is only two weeks and it is part of the summer scene in Britain including chelsea and ascot. There are plenty of other channels and more choice than ever
Leave Wimbledon to those who love it. It's better than football any day.
Wimbledon and some Olympics is probably the only sport I watch, Wimbledon is only on for 2 weeks so I don't think it impinges too much on regular viewing. Football is the one that gets me, it used to be on just over the Winter season for the men. Now it's the Euros, The World Cup and various other championships plus the Women's games that continually knock the regular viewing off the tv. But I do usually manage to find something on the myriad channels that are on nowadays. U and Drama is usually what I go for as I worked abroad for so many years so there is often a drama that I haven't seen before.
