Have been so lazy this last few days watching 🎾 nonstop but today sees another four hours electricity so dhobi wallah duties this morning with a roast chicken and trimmings prepped for lunch - that should ease my conscience before settling down with Senor Alcaraz this afternoon…😍

Good morning from another grey day in Bristol. The temperature is going up. Not looking forward to the high 20s.
We had a busy coffee and chat in church yesterday. The vicar’s allotment has produced too many/too large courgettes. I took several big ones to make chutney, but don’t have enough dates and apples to start. Tomorrow, after Tesco shop.
The rest of the day was quiet. I spent quite some time making a précis/bullet points from the residents’ meeting, to be printed out and circulated before Wednesday. I’m having it checked by another resident before printing.
Quiet today. Just church. Having fiddled with my pattern,I might cut out the pinafore dress in my favourite denim.
Love to FGT himself, with horrible chemo, and to MD. Corner, I hope you are feeling less miserable - “this too shall pass”. Virtual hugs to all those I’ve missed.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark morning in Cheshire where it's pouring with rain. There's an eerie silence with no birdsong this morning. The garden will be loving this long drink.

Not planning to go far today. I had a struggle last week with coming off a drug too quickly and had to go back on it. I wanted to come off it because it can cause Parkinson's apparently. The Dr said she'll do some research to see whether the advice on the link has changed, Fingers crossed as my tinnitus and nausea is a lot less intrusive with it.

For now I will have breakfast in bed and listen to the gentle music of Tim Janis and watch his incredibly beautiful videos and hope the day brightens up.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m so tired of this rain, I didn’t even leave the house yesterday. Poor DH was soaked each time he took the daft dug for her walk.

I have four wallpaper swatches taped onto the wall in the downstairs loo and just can’t decide which one to use. They could become a permanent fixture if I don’t make a decision soon. DH likes the one that is probably my least favourite but says it’s completely up to me- he definitely doesn’t want to be responsible for me hating the end result.

Again we have no plans other than me going to Mass so it will be a quiet day.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has as good a day as possible whatever it brings.

Good morning from Malta where another hot day is dawning. 39°C later.

Yesterday was quite an anxious one. I contacted my vet who was in Gozo, Malta’s sister island, so was unable to come but he advised me to get to a vet asap for a blood test.

I managed to get an appointment at a very local lady vet and took Buzz the five minute journey in the car.

His blood tests were not very encouraging as he is anaemic, jaundiced and has something severe going on in his liver.

I’m afraid I sobbed when I heard this.😞

We then spent two hours with Buzz on a drip and being given various medications. Throughout it all he was an absolute star, never complained even when being stuck with needles.

Whatever they gave him made him feel well enough to eat a little food, the first in three days and I brought him home with his cannula still in place as he has to go back today and tomorrow to spend the day on the drip.

Tomorrow he will also have an ultrasound of his liver to see if it’s a tumour or an infection causing the illness.

I’m trying to hope for the best whilst preparing myself for the worst. Poor dog had an awful start in life as a street dog in Sicily. I adopted him aged 6months.

Whilst he’s at the vets I will clean my floors and do the ironing which did not get done yesterday with all the drama.

Good morning from Shropshire where I was woken by heavy rain battering the windows.Very welcome after weeks of hot days.

A lovely day yesterday at the food festival.

Like Pantglas I have four hours free electricity so laundry duties and cooking this morning.DD will collect the children mid morning.They have both been very good although they had a wild hour before bed last night and much hilarity helping grandpa water the veg plot.Both were absolutely soaked🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Good morning everyone from an overcast hillside in south Glos, rain is forecast 🙏🤞🏻
We got rather damp on the morning walk yesterday, steady drizzle that continued on and off until late afternoon but I’m not convinced it actually did much to help the garden, just annoying instead!
There’s supposed to be more today and then no signs of rain for the next 10 days, just high temperatures back up to 30°.
I started a mitred square knitted blanket yesterday, using up some of my sock yarn stash. It’s a bit slow going at the moment but I will get the hang of it! I was half-watching the Tour de France at the same time, I love the scenery especially the mountain stages.
I find it impossible to just sit, I have to be doing something with my hands 😊
I’m hoping to get some gardening done today, even if I end up getting damp, I love being outside.

Good morning from north Wales where the rain is torrential.
Yesterday we had a quiet morning but went out in the afternoon to explore the area. My ancestors came from Holywell and my great grandfather moved to the Durham coalfields in the 19th century.
I am staying put today and relaxing with a novel, the forecast is for rain most of the day anyway.
GD1 has volunteered to cook tonight, her choice of food sounds interesting.

Just some drizzle here yesterday, not enough to dampen the garden while turning the dust on the car into muddy spots.

Another home-day for us. Plenty of pottering to do. Mr C is going to clean, the man is a star. I’m OK really, mattie and susan, trying to manage (or not!) emotional overload along with a fibro flare up. One at a time is easier! I’ll just be a bit quiet for a while and know others are dealing with harder challenges.

Good morning from s somerset, dull bearable weather today

Bellasnana, Buzz can well pick up. My Dds little dog seemed to be at the end of the road, was limp and was rushed to the vet. They took great care of her and put her on a drip, she stayed there for the night. She too had bad results from her blood. Tlc at home afterwards and now she is fine, back to normal, still on a steroid and will be for the rest of her life. I had given up, Dd never gave up on her dog, they can and do, bounce back

I was busy all day yesterday, making headway with my pattern mountain of AO prints, Did a massive amount of paper cutting and printing of instructions, each pattern is now in a dedicated A4 envelope With picture and details stuck on the front. One AO was for a parka, 25 pieces on 7 AO sheets, I persisted and have decided that it will be a long-term winter project this year, first roughly in calico. I reckon 2 months to make it

I was tired by 4.30 and flopped into a chair, suddenly decided that it was now a good time to plant my leeks. I then spent an hour on the allotment

A much easier day today, I am going to carry on renovating patterns and printing off A4 sheets and instructions to pack into envelopes ready to cut and stick. when I want to use that pattern Making space and sorting is what I am doing today. All pleasurable

GM there is a nice free pattern by itch to stitch, called deba topper. You might like it.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a blissfully wet South Yorkshire. I don’t know how much rain we have had during the night but I hope it was a lot! DD and I had a lovely walk around the top of our valley yesterday afternoon. It was warm and she commented on how many butterflies there were when neither of us had seen many at all this year, so the rest of the walk was taken up butterfly spotting. I made a salad lunch when we got back home.
GS and his dad are at Silverstone this weekend having a smashing time and GS WhatsApp’d me some video footage of the cars streaking past. He commented that one was the same colour as my Mini. I said “How do you know it wasn’t me? I can put my foot down y’know!” It was actually Aston Martin! No contest!
A quiet day for me, sorting packing for next week.

We had a wet drive yesterday but are now on the Lizard along with our two couples of friends. We have all known each other for almost 50 years. Lots of catching up with family news last evening.
We shall have a fairly quiet day,, probably a walk down to the beach, maybe lunch at the cafe. Weather permitting, the forecast is for improvement.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. High cloud at the moment but still dry. There is a warning of possible thunderstorms all day today but I’ll believe it when we get one! I’m quite envious of those with rain, my garden is parched and the flower buds on several plants have just shrivelled up.
I have half price electricity today, but in the middle of the day. I’ll do some laundry then and some baking if it’s not too hot.
bellasnana I’m so sorry about poor Buzz and hope he responds well to the treatment.

Three of my DGDs have Kung Fu grading today, the younger two fairly early this morning, but the 10 year old has to wait until late afternoon for hers. Gradings are held in the south of the county so a bit of to-ing and fro-ing for them today. I may have a visit from DD1, but probably won’t.

I haven’t done much at all and this weather isn’t inducing me to get out of the house. Lunch with friends on Friday was a lovely day out but out of the blue it hit me hard that DH was gone and when I returned to an empty house, the tears I was holding back, overwhelmed me. I thought I was doing so well but this has shaken me somewhat.

So sorry to hear your little dog is so unwell Bella. I would have cried buckets and have done when each of our dogs went through similar.

Yesterday I went to Aldi in the morning to stock up. It was just as well as the boys arrived just after lunch and never stopped eating! Unfortunately there was a water problem and I had no water for a while then horrible foul brown stuff. It seems to be a widespread problem in the area. Dsil brought me six enormous bottles of water when he and dd came back from their shopping trip. The boys were really good. We blew bubbles outside until the rain came on. Then dgs1 spent a lot of time drawing. Dgs2 watched cartoons on his iPad, drew pictures of me on a wee chalk board I bought him- not flattering 😂, and played with cars. His favourite saying at the moment is, "I can do it." He's so independent.
Today the water is mainly clear but a little cloudy at the start. It'll do for washings and dishes but I'll still use the bottled water for drinking etc. I'm off to an art exhibition this morning in Stirling at my artist tutor's house. She's holding this one for charity.I had said to my son that I could meet him afterwards but he wanted to come too. Naturally I'm delighted. This afternoon I will roast a gammon and do assorted cleaning. Have a good day all

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Elder son is taking granddaughter swimming this morning. They’ll come back to a roast chicken dinner. Pudding is chocolate peppermint ice cream and strawberry, raspberry and peach crumble.

After they’ve gone back to London I’ll think about packing for our holiday on Tuesday.

I hope Buzz has a good day and is soon fit and well once more.

We arrived here yesterday after an easy journey by train, all on time. We met up with DHs youngest son and family last night, it was good to see them and catch up on all the news. This morning we’re meeting up with a different son and then later today we’re off to the airport for a flight to Tenerife later. Just a quick week away but looking forward to it.
