Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish, greyish Carlisle. Another showery day in store?
Yesterday, I went out early to pick up the paper and re-stock with fresh fruit and veg, then I proceeded through the countryside to a delicatessen/butcher to check out the local meats...so much better than supermarket offerings. I came out with pork, lamb, bacon and one or two temptations. The garden centre was on my route home but sadly I was too early for their opening hours. I then discovered that the new southeastern bypass was now partly open so I could now get home without a tedious detour through the city. It now avoids a little village so the residents must be happy about that, they have a busy crossroads one exit of which leads to the nearby motorway so lorries constantly pass through.

Once home, a long phone chat with my sister and, after lunch, work on my front lawn. I raked out some dead grass and the moss on part and re-seeded it, partly working in drizzle. The rain isn't constant these last few days, it's just frequent, unpredictable showers, some very heavy. I'm fed up with them and wishing to see blue skies.

Today,I'm off to a garden centre north of the city, on the lookout for a couple of shrubs and a coffee treat. Then it's back to reading the papers.

Your poor, dear dog, Bellasnana, I do hope his treatment is successful and it proves to be a bad infection and not a tumour.

After a couple of cool nights it feels sticky this morning so the next heatwave isn’t far away. Not good news for those of us who no longer enjoy hot weather. Church this morning but nothing else planned today so tennis will dominate the afternoon.

Ive taken some paracetamol and naproxen this morning after moving furniture yesterday but it was worth it as our bedroom looks lovely. I bought 2 new lamps and laid a new rug and its marvelous.
Today will be a dog walk when the rain stays off and some chicken later for evening meal. I plan to give the freezer a good clean out and wipe out all the drawers. I hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 13° due to rain again this afternoon. I forgot to bring the washing in yesterday but I think it will have dried overnight.

I'm preparing for the Quaker meeting in my house this morning, followed by soup which I shall get going shortly. Others will bring bread and cheese.

This afternoon I may watch 🎾

The baby seagull is getting bigger and has decided to park itself in the cat mint. I wonder if and when it will fly away.

Your colour dilemma Baubles reminds me we had a poster we liked in the bathroom for years and chose the colours in the painting to paint the room. They were an unlikely dark turquoise and pale pink but were much admired.

Today, I have a couple of people to catch up with at church, but won't be working. We have two experienced sacristans on duty, due to the combined Sunday Masses, therefore I shall just float about, networking and busybodying, 🤣
Last week there wasn't a seat to be found, the church was packed to the seams. Therefore I will need to do a sweep afterwards and collect the inevitable lost property, check the toilets and tidy up.
I could open an opticians, with the numerous, forgotten spectacles.

I also have a birthday gift for the young sacristan, he has no idea that anyone knows it is his birthday.😉
According to the curate last night, I was the talk of Lourdes, (priests are dreadful gossips) due to my experience with the forgetful, retired, supply priest (who turned up on the wrong day) and my valiant efforts to track him down, in order to ensure we had cover for the Vigil Mass.
Apparently, he had triple booked himself and consequently two other parishes were left without cover that night, causing chaos. My tenacity and numerous phones calls paid off! 😄
The Bishop has now decided that the whole issue of cover needs to be addressed and managed at Diocesan level, instead of by individuals.

I have found a joint of sirloin in the freezer and plan to make roast beef with all the trimmings, a rare treat for DH. If I feel up to it, we will have Eton mess for dessert. I can manage that, the excrutiatng ulcers are back with a vengeance, but it is soft to eat.

I plan to rest this afternoon, but if there is a dry spell, I shall, collect soft fruit from the garden and cobble together a multi fruit crumble, inspired by the mention on this thread.

Good morning everyone from cloudy wet Lancashire.

Yesterday we had our usual morning walk down to the Dock gates. Today we plan a longer walk across the little footbridge. The antibiotics are doing their job, they are upsetting my stomach a little but I only have to take them for today and that’s it.

Poor wee Buzz, you must be very anxious Bellasnana.

Morning, high cloud in S Hants, I too would welcome any rain, we had about ten minutes yesterday which just evaporated immediately. The garden is really suffering, all the lawns here are brown and farmers are warning of sparse crops.
How horrid for you Bellas I do hope your dog improves quickly.
Safe journey brook, our friend got back from Palma yesterday via Bournemouth, two days late due to the French ATC strike.
We bought MrJ a new to us car yesterday, from a friend, so the old car needs a good clean out today.

Good morning all and still no rain for us. Thunderstorms forcast but as Redcar says, it will probably miss us.

Dd and DGD are enjoying their stay at the seaside cottage , swimming in the sea, sand castles , boating lake and donkey rides. A real old fashioned holiday.

Today we are going to my db and DIL’s for coffee and a chat. Then back to watch the tennis. There have been some really great matches.

Poor Buzz, it’s so sad to see our lovely pets so poorly. Hopefully the vets will sort him out 🙏.

I hope those unwell or anxious, feel on the up today. 🌼

Good morning everyone from a very grey and cloudy Northampton, thundery showers are forecast, which I hope won't be too heavy or too frequent, as DD is playing with her band all afternoon in the bandstand in our big town park.

Did my top-up shop yesterday, which included a visit to Matalan, which proved to be unfruitful, as there just wasn't anything that took my fancy. I was looking for a pair of black linen trousers for an upcoming funeral, but none to be had.
Looking forward to a coffee and something to eat, I arrived at M&S Food to find the cafe closed 'due to operational reasons', whatever they may be. And as our Sainsbury's has recently lost its cafe I had to go without sustenance.

Spent the afternoon reading the newspapers, then watched a couple of episodes of 'Emma', which I had recorded. After dinner watched the Agatha Christie Miss Marple evening on tv, all three episodes of 'The Body in the Library'. It's good that I had forgotten who'd done it!

A late breakfast, then get ready to go out to the park to watch DD in her band. Shall be armed with umbrella and raincoat! Also a small cold bag with drinks and also a bag of my home-made sausage rolls, which I had promised. DS-in-law will also be there with their little dog. Fingers crossed for not too many thunderstorms!

I do hope that your little Buzz makes a good recovery, Bellasnana.

Good Morning from a cool, overcast Durham. There’s a forecast for rain around 4pm.
Well done those with hours of free electricity - Octopus offer only a free hour, at random times, with only 24hours notice - not a lot of use really.
DD2 and family are coming later - I’ve prepped lunch which will just take half an hour to cook, when they get here. DGS2 loves my garden as it’s so much bigger than his at home.
I’m glad Buzz is getting ‘the works’ from your Vet Bellas it’s so hard when our furry friends are poorly.

Good morning from a dull northwest coast. Another quiet day yesterday just sorting out papers, practising songs etc.
A nice FaceTime catch-up with soprano friend who has just undergone an endoscopy/colonoscopy and will have some polyps removed. We both intend to return to an opera company we left years ago as there has been a change of Director.

Tonight I will drive into the city to see another friend sing in her choir. A new venue for me, so the satnav will go on, or satnag as I call it…I’m not keen on finding new places.
